Lmao that was hilarious, edgy af for no reason. Need to peep this second version with different art maybe that will give me a reason to keep watching. Don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep up watching this, but I’ll give it a few eps cause a few people said it gets pretty good.

Hold up thats Atsushi's va from bungou stray dogs as our MC! i thought it was Keima's cv from God only knows cause when he screamed sounded just like him

Animation for the action looked a little poor at certain spots like when he strangle held the monster at the beginning, but the CG looks pretty freakin bad.

I'm guessing he used her as bait to distract a monster so he could slowly beat it to death... that's dreadfully clever actually!

This looks like a lot of fun.
The exact same art style as the Higurashi 2020?? But there's a second version? Interesting...

SO am I supposed to take this anime seriously or is it a comedy? Because quite frankly I was not too interested in what they were throwing at me.

Okay, it was a good first episode. Not much of a difference from the manga, but the animation, or indeed the art style could have been better (I'm talking about the actual first episode, not the peview with that weird art). The manga style itself is obviously much better, and I dislike the CGI of the anime. I have no more complaints on the other hand. By the way, for those who call it generic, what are they based on if the story is only one episode long? They do not allow the plot to develop, that a plot is cliché does not mean that the work is bad if it develops well. On the other hand, I have not seen many isekai anime with an asocial protagonist, in fact, for now I can only mention Arifureta, and it is very different.

Now, I want to talk a bit about how I hope the story unfolds, and for those who want to know.

Nothing more to say, only that my beautiful wife Waki Azumi did a splendid job, as always.
Being alone is not synonymous with being lonely.

This was better than I expected. I think this is going to differentiate itself from other generic isekai by giving us an MC that is utterly deranged, especially from that last clip; he doesn't care whether a teammate will die, all that matters is killing what's in front of him. In fact, being alone is probably a good thing, since there aren't any additional weaknesses.

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.
As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are.
That's what death is, don't you think?

It seems like it's attempting to foreshadow his deranged psychology; basically, he doesn't care if an ally will die or bleed out when they can be saved, all that matters is killing the enemy in front of him, not because it's the better option, but just because it's exciting and fulfils his bloodlust. I think it was trying to show us that in that situation, the MC even forgets his friends would be dying.

Third anime in the Fall 2020 tour and....it is j u s t f i n e.

I was hoping for some dark themes and heavy-ass action in this one because from the title alone it piqued my interest. But when I read the first chapter earlier and from what I watched it has many minor yet noticeable problems already. MC is pretty much an antisocialist (fix that), the other girls are weak and has yet to prove themselves, and the animation is so-so decent at best.

But I'm not gonna lie that the setup for the isekai was pretty good. The explanation for an RPG-esque mechanics was solid and their atleast trying for the humor here. If the flaws from the paragraph above will be fixed this will have potential but for now we'll see what the next episodes be like.

I think the mechanics of the game world are pretty unique. The MC isn’t super OP off the rip and actually has to grind to accomplish shit, he’s also in the weakest class. The death mechanic is original too.

Idk, despite isekai being my fave genre this didn’t hook me quite yet, I don’t drop anything so we’ll see how it develops over the next few weeks before I make any judgement. Series definitely has potential and the MC being edgy is cool.

Not sure what people have against this episode, In a sense it was generic but i mean these days you need to define a new genre to please people.
I definitely found it interesting and funny enough to believe itll be a good anime also excited to see how it develops into a bit more of a serious story judging from the intro and title. Excited to see how they play with this 'Death' mechanic since it couldve been a bust but has already proven to be an interesting story mechanic.

i actually strongly dislike the genre, but i felt this episode was really good. it doesn't try "too hard" and some of the characterization makes sense. i don't know what i found intriguing about this... the main character?
i knew other people would find it generic, but i feel hopeful after reading that it's not as generic as it looks.

Nope. There is nothing like that in his psychology. This fragment was rather puzzling and made no sense - with the second girl down him attacking invulnerable monster and dying is ridiculous. I checked the manga, nothing like that happens. He says her to stay, she stays.

In anime the girl wanted to go even though she couldn't do anything against much weaker goblins and had only one working hand. If she stays in village the guy can't permanently die unless he is particularly careless/unlucky and get himself eaten. So he can relatively safely level up even with his mostly useless weapon. Anime addition is just dumb and weird.

Just because it isn't in the manga, doesn't mean it won't be an addition in the anime. Directors often take creative licence with stuff like this

Just because it may happen doesn't mean it will happen. So far nothing hints that it will, your "he doesn't care if an ally will die or bleed out when they can be saved, all that matters is killing the enemy in front of him, not because it's the better option, but just because it's exciting and fulfils his bloodlust" is based on nothing at all. Heck, entire incident with troll demonstrate exactly the opposite - he takes the second girl and runs away.

Getting manga based on rational cunning MC and giving him "deranged psychology addition" completely opposite to original is ridiculous. Much more likely they will stick with manga with minor deviations. That's what they do now, the video game segment we talking about was a weird aberration. No wonder Hydroalbidius was confused by it.

I never said it will happen, just taht it's a possibility. And, actually, no there is a lot of evidence something similar might happen; the intro portion, his lust for excitement even if it risks his life, and of course the foreshadowing of the final scene, which is literally what the theory was based off lmao, so 'nothing at all' is very wrong haha. Besides, I never said it wasn't a minor deviation. Using little scenes like that is enough to characterise the MC in that fashion.

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.

And I disagree that this is a possibility for reasons I mentioned above. Watch the incident with troll one more time and be amazed how wrong your "deranged psychology" fantasy on every single point.

Hardcore gamer loner prefers game-like world similar to his games to world where he about to enter brutal Japanese work market. It makes lot of sense. The reasons why he dislikes the city are not completely clear yet but it doesn't mean they don't exist. Revealing such details in 10th of 12 episodes is not unusual for anime, they avoid cramming everything there is to know about the character in the 1st episode.

I agree that you don't have much info to work with yet, I am just saying that your guess seems to be too hasty and directly contradict to actions of the character we already seen.

Still on the fence, but there's bits of uniqueness on the emo solo player mc, rare farmer class (-50% on nonplant attack lol), fact that all 3 are weak, and restrictive game mechanics setup worthy obstacles for them.
Designs fairly bland except wizard, but at least episode's funny for now.

Not that bad. Considering that it is an Isekai. And probably turning into some kind of Harem. So far it is refreshing compared to the Isekai with annoying chars. (Re:Zero and Shield Hero for example.)

It has some kind of a bit of comedy smilar to KonoSuba. (But far away from being as good as KonoSuba.) The main actually being the clever guy ... but weak. And the girls thinking he is useless.

Then it reminds a bit of the Genome-Anime. (But much better so far. Chars less annoying.) I guess as farmer the main will find some poisonous plants. (It also seems he leveled up quickly already when other that are longer there than him are much slower.) Then using him as bait coated in poison ... killing the monster. Girl with sword cutting him and the other girl free. :D

Wonder if he secretly wished for him ot be with the mode beautiful girl in a game at some point. And/or if the teacher is some god with super powers posing as the man with half face. :D

The only thing that might get annoying is the "oh it is still better than Tokyo"-moments with the weird mimics (looking a bit insane) of the main. But it is okay if it is only every now and then.

I hope they are going back in the real world to recruit the other girls listed as main. And maybe some deeper background plot and not comedy and more and more quests?

I don't get the bad review at all. IMO, this was one of the better isekai first episodes I've seen. No fanservice bullshit, not harem antics, Interesting world mechanics and a pretty unique MC. Judging from the last scene, he does not feel like a typical hero at all. Maybe he will turn into an anti-hero or straight-up villain later on.
The series could go to shit in the later episodes but the first one was interesting enough to hook me hard.
