Bam is simping so hard for Rachel that if she would have an onlyfans account with no nuds he would pay all of his shinsu... Also nice build up for season 2 I suppose atthe end that was Bam after training.

For me, it only got interesting at the last episode of the season(if there will ever be a next season though). I don't mind a story when it only hits you in the ending. A story can actually become a masterpiece even if it was only compensated at the ending. Just like how it was in Gone with the Wind. Sorry, I have to mention it because it's the only story that I could think of as an example.

Tower of God was just so-so. I neither like it, nor dislike it. But I have to admit that the ending was excellent. It caught me off guard when Rachel showed her true colors and even fooled all of Bam's friends; completely replacing him and took advantage of their dedication to him. I like how much I despise her character and how it was really well done. Even us viewers were deceived by her facade.

The last scene where it was revealed that Bam was already at the Tower of God was mind-blowing. And despite that he was facing backwards on the last scene, there's something very intimidating about him. I hope this time, he has matured and have learned his lesson.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

fuck Rachel.

“I wish I met Bam before you” damn, my boy Khun’s gotta be torn up on the inside. Poor thing.

Rare to see Lero Ro so upset as well considering his calm nature.

Great conclusion and set up for season 2. Man I’m gonna miss this on Wednesdays. So far, my anime of the year.

This anime was great and I did like that we got to see Rachel's side of the story but still Fuck Rachel!

After last week's episode, I needed to see Rachel's reasoning and was not disappointed. I don't know if I can say I hate her or not because of the way her side of the story played out. Can't wait for a second season to see hoe Bam recovers from this or how the rest of the gang reacts when they find out, though I suspect Khun already knows.

I don't throw this double-edged word around often, but I think I'll use it here, this anime was overrated.

Went in with the expectation that it was going to be the next must watch anime of the year, but just walked out somewhat disappointed. On top of feeling very rushed, it just ended up leaving you with more questions than answers.

It was in every regard, a prologue to the actual story lying in wait, and that just didn't leave a good lasting impression on me.

Bam didn't make for the most compelling protagonist. The twist at the end was frankly just ruined by the webtoon readers too. Who didn't see Rachel betraying Bam like that? The anime wants you to come back, and though it did exactly just that and will have many coming back to see how Bam recovers and approaches his current dilemma, it just felt cheap from my perspective. The way it draws you in with all the hype and promotion Crunchyroll ran down your throat, just to have it progress and end like this.

All that aside, it obviously wasn't all bad. A lot of the side characters had a lot of thought and care put into them, and it's incredibly evident they will only continue to grow and develop with more revelations as they climb the tower. The soundtrack was also superb, and arguably the best quality about this anime. It was composed by the same dude who made the Made in Abyss soundtrack, so no surprise there.

6/10. Still pretty good stuff. Gets more credit than it deserves, but this could go places someday.

The end of season 1 was an interesting last episode of the season. Sad to see that the anime journey is over for now and I believe this will get a season 2 adaptation.

I love how we got to see the backstory of why Rachel did what she did. I love when stories like this have many layers to the world-building that we slowly get to find out and it makes us more involved in the world of Tower of God.

What Khun said about that he wished he met Bam before Rachel really shows how torn up everyone was about what happened to Bam. Most of this episode focused on the backstory of Rachel and why she pushed Bam. Rachel wanted to climb the tower no matter what and Headon knew that Rachel was not the candidate that was chosen to climb the tower and that she was unworthy especially because of her deceitful actions.

To Rachel, Bam has everything that she doesn't and she is jealous of him. She didn't want to be the one to kill Bam because of the guilty thought of doing it. Rachel wants to be the only one who is seen as special or a shining star. It is a very selfish move on her part.

We're all glad to see at the end that Bam is still alive and is beginning a new chapter in his story. Bam isn't that the same character that we saw 12 episodes ago at the beginning of the story. All the regulars did pass the test and definitely won't forget about Bam.

This adaptation of the Webtoon was decent overall. The pacing was really bad at times and parts of the adaptation felt really rushed. Hopefully, if there's a season 2, which I think there will be, they slow down and adapt it at a better pace and make it something like 24 episodes so they don't end up skipping around things like they did in season 1. This adaptation was the first of its kind so hopefully, Crunchyroll and Webtoon do a good job with The God of High School adaptation being animated by MAPPA. I'm hyped up for it.

I wish all episodes were like this one but as an anime-only I'm not really impressed, there are two many things that are not explained and even if there will be more in future seasons it's still poor experience :/

I'm happy I didn't run into too many spoilers about Rachel so it was still interesting to watch last two episodes but overall this show as an anime is very mediocre, it's not that bad but judging by webtoon reviews it could be directed much better and I would prefer 24 ep prologue rather than rushed 13 instead "maybe people will jump on our hype train".. I will still watch s2 whenever it comes out but if director stays the same it won't be any better experience, I'm only interested in the plot

I was very nervous for the first season as I didn't know how they could possibly condense so much into 13 episodes, but I think they did an good job. Very excited for future seasons

You know I dislike this adaptation and I can't be asked to explain any further, but answer me this. Where the hell was Yuri? She completely vanished. Endorsi was butchered.

Crunchyroll stop thinking about the money and actually have some passion for the anime you produce. Get a better studio and get a better director.

The fact that you guys had thought of this as both an experiment and a cash cow and milking it because of its fame and hype was really sad. Just look at the passion Ufotable, madhouse, kyoani and bones have for their anime.

Disappointed really, I rate anime based on how much I enjoyed it, very rarely do i become critical. There were loads of good qualities and moments but it was overshadowed by mediocre directing and pacing.

I do have to admit that they handled Rachels side very well imo, really shows that she recognised Bams good qualities but hated him even more for that.

8/10 ( and thats me being extremely generous)

Well, the anime is a mess, and quite rushed. Lacks proper worldbuilding as well, which should be the focus considering the purpose of the story. Main character is bland and has absolutely nothing really interesting, but in the end it was a fun experience, well kinda of... As for the episode, it was basically a recap episode for the most part, showing Rachel's point of view on the whole thing, and I don't really get where this is going but I look forward to watch a 2nd season anyway. A 2/5 for the episode and a 4/10 for the rest of the series; it was fun, but messy and underwhelming.

Oh damn, so Rachel couldn't even see that glowing gold thing that was happening to their hands at the end of the test there? Another detail showing she has absolutely no talent for shinsu unlike Bam.

I'll give this a 9/10, this show has a ton of potential but right now the first season was just laying out the rules and groundwork for what I'm anticipating will be even better future seasons

After reading up on Rachel a bit, it's for the best if Bam gets separated from her this time (with a hard confirmation that she does not want him with her). His idolization of her wasn't healthy, he really needs to grow as his own person. Sure she may have saved him from the darkness of that cave but one good deed does not make her a goddess.

I hope Khun gets some therapeutic revenge on Rachel for what she did, since I'm willing to bet he's seeing a lot of parallels between her and his half-sister after these events.

Eh, 7/10. I will definitely keep watching if it gets renewed, it does have that feel of a story that's barely out of it's diapers. I do wish parts were better explained/not rushed through. Nice ending episode I have to say, a great look into her mindset and how mentally ill she has become.

So the final episode is a look at Rachel’s descent into madness.

Hoh’s words for Rachel ring true...
“I must climb the tower. No matter what. You understand, don't you. After all, you also —"

Hoh was hinting all along that Rachel is also someone who has no choice but to betray others to climb the tower — and now we see exactly how she plans to do it.

Some observations I’ve made,
Headon as I suspected is evil and manipulative or else he wouldn’t have told Rachel to do something as twisted as try to kill Bam.
Hansung Yu is a meddler and seems perfectly fine allowing things to happen under his watch(ie. Ren and Yuri fighting, Rachel’s scheming). His goal with the test seemed to be making the princesses think Bam is dead as he states ‘everything is going according to plan’ so it’s clear his motives aren’t anything wholesome.
Red haired girl and Yuri seem awfully attached to Bam with the former opting to train him and the latter helping him at the start.

From these hints I’m guessing there’s some sort of power struggle within the Tower, and different sides are trying to best one another.
At first, Hansung Yu seems like he’s on Jahad’s side, but then he betrays Ren by letting him die, so perhaps whoever he was speaking to this episode is who he sides with.
Yuri and the red hair seem to want Bam to assert some level of influence, perhaps they want him as an ally for his power or rather they see him as some sort of saviour, but it’s clear they aren’t siding with Jahad.
Headon with how evil he looks, seems perfectly fine letting the Tower manipulate good natured people, though I’m guessing he’ll be less of a player and more of an observer.

In the future, I definitely see Bam, Rachel, Yuri, and Hansung Yu being some key players. Urek Mazino, the name of the other Irregular that was mentioned, will likely also play a role.
One thing was clear by that end scene — if that was Bam, he’s no longer the same person.

This was an interesting anime, looking forward to whatever comes next for this!

Many didn't like adapting to the anime due to the quick adapting of the events but I personally see that this is an excellent thing that the studio and the workers chose because in the events of Manhawa in the first 54 chapters are boring natural and very slow some people say some events were deleted in Manhawa but most of the deleted events are related to comedy or events that will never help the story develop
In general I think the quote is good With the exception of some events such as khan's flashback
or Pam's speech which was deleted when he protected the Endrusi or deleted the Yuri and Evan dialogue in the first episode only
As for the rest of the events their adaptation was very good
Generally my review for the anime is 7.8/10
I'm waiting for the second season of the anime

So Hwaryun is working for Han Sung Yu? Lero Ro is now reclimbing the tower along with Quant?

I feel like I just saw Rachel fall from grace. Initially, she's selfish and abandons Bam in order to climb the tower because she wants to be special. Upon meeting Bam in the tower, she feels remorse. Then during the test with Quant, she follows the events in order to finally fall from grace when the Bull attacks her and Bam.

With all the plotting going on, I sense a rebellion brewing. I wanted to like Rachel. I really did. But after this, I can't. She was jealous that Bam had everything she ever wanted and was willing to kill him in order to become the main character of a story.

lero ro knows what's up :)

this episode felt like a waste, conclusions we had already came to, we didn't need 15 minutes of information already disclosed and deduced about Rachel, but we move.

i appreciated khun putting rachel on the spot there because i hoped at least one of the group is clued in on her true personality.

this anime was average, but overall enjoyment scaled it up to a 6/10~

Wow, as a Webtoon reader, I absolutely hated this episode...and that's saying a lot, considering I wasn't nearly as upset with the other changes they made in the other episodes, except maybe episode 1 and 9, which were a complete mess. They cut out a lot of content with four chapters just to fit in a whole montage of Rachel's thoughts. While some anime original parts were intriguing, they could've condensed how much flashback they put and included parts that were actually important. They missed out on the rings, they flipped Endorsi/Anak's personality when it comes to Bam, they changed Rachel's deal with Headon, they cut out Rachel and Hwa Ryun's conversation, they missed so many good quotes, they tried to make it seem like Rachel was forced to kill Bam and didn't really want to do it when that wasn't the case in the Webtoon. I don't know man, this episode adapted literally one of my favorite chapters out of the 500 chapters ongoing and they somehow managed to mess it up still. I wish I could separate my anime and Webtoon thoughts, but this is just too much. My enjoyment went from 9/10 to 7.5/10 from this episode alone. I just hope if they ever do a second season they could slow the pace down and ensure to emphasize details that are actually important.

4/10 episode. Mediocre 6/10 anime.

Edit: I see a lot of people saying Rachel isn't as hesitant in the manhwa, would definitely have preferred that. Give her some character and turn her into a cold antihero instead and I would've liked her way more.

it is indeed shown the side of Rachel and how she choose her dreams over friendship... i am not going to rant over her character over her decision because in real life some are also doing such things...

but anyways i feel bad for Bam as he is going to climb the tower just to find some answers? answers on why Rachel did it to him. its like an ex-BF doing all his best to answer his questing why such break up happened.

Rachel is again more interesting than the rest of the cast. A low bar but anyway.

Overall, the show desperately needs better dialogue. Bam's lines are especially dull. The comedy also doesn't work. The shifts in tone and character behavior are often unjustified. The tests were all over the place and sometimes only relied on luck or a single ability. Maybe a 4/10. I haven't decided yet.

I have been reading the webtoon recently, and while it builds on S1, it still has many of the same problems.

Yes Rachel you're just part of the plot or the one of the holes in it, not the plot itself, get over it..or not. And thanlk you for giving Baam to another Tower faction so we get the "other guy" next time.

I've read the webtoon and been put-on hold at the "train station"-part a long time ago. I was not expecting anything of this anime adaptation as I've forgotten most of what I've read anyway so I thought it was OK. 7/10

It was interesting seeing everything from Rachel's POV. It made her actions feel a little more understandable. I still hate her tho.

It was heartbreaking seeing everyone's reactions to Baam's death. Especially with Rak screaming.

I'm guessing the red haired women just used Rachel to recruit Baam but I have no idea what she wants to recruit him for. Hopefully we will see another season of this show one day.

Seems like ToG (and Stray Kids!) are both garnering a lot of attention---will it be enough for a s2?

Also oof Rachel-- I always felt like her character was too predictable, pitiful and bland, but woW. The seiyuu really delivered her justice by the expression and pain she voiced. Like even though the entire season I was like >:L, I actually felt my heart stir for her. Luckily, Khun isn't convinced.

It makes me wonder why Rachel wants to see the stars so much. Like yes, be the star, but **why**?! It's obviously more then the analogy of being the center of Bam's universe since she would have been the star if she stayed in the cave.

Not sure if it's a coincedence, but I really heard Shinobu's voice and passive anger bleed into Rachel's voice. Rachel like darkeu I guess

Top for opening and ending?! What?!
(On a non anime note, based on Stray Kids lore/legacy/mission, this series really matches their whole ethos. Like climb the hellevator am I right? Also OT9 ot8 or none. Like it makes me cry because Baam makes me think of the survival show... haha.. a total sucker of a stay I guess.)
:( Sad that it was a monologue for a finale, (it made me realize just how SHORT and also rushed the season was. How is that possible!?)
Finale satisfaction 1/5
Execution of the season (even though I haven't seen the webtoons) 3/10
Characters 4/10 turtles carry the way.
Music 10/10
Potential vs Fail 9/10
Somehow became my favourite show of the season despite my disappointment. I wonder how much of that was affected by my love for Stray Kids; that said -- all the criticism aside, I really really enjoyed this season.

Damn. Way to end the season.

I really like how everything was connected to each other in order to show Rachel's perspective.

Truly gave me chills man.

Such a great anime for this season. I'm gonna miss watching this every Wednesday.

The explanation to Rachels motivations was actually convincing for the first time.
Mixed feelings of guilt and her desire to be noticed and appreciated.
I liked that they explored her perspective and made us understand some of the earlier events and plot points better.
Initially I thought I was indifferent to her but every second she was on screen in ep 13 made me hate her, proving that I was invested in the show at some capacity. Making someone feel legitimate feelings for a 2d drawing is hard.

The set up for season 2 is strong(The is most likely going to be a season 2)

My major criticisms of the show still stand though. Not much has changed since my review of this show in it's preliminary state.
