On other news Yuri Zahard was hot AF this episode ~~

At this point I have simped for way too many TOG characters to even bother labeling myself as straight. There is just too much attractiveness within the 10 families.

yeah!!! All the princess are so good.

My personal fav is

Decent past 2 episodes, the overall show feels more coherent now.

  • While somewhat predictable, Endorsi and Anak getting over their differences and fighting the pillow was nice, but they seemed to get stomped too easily.
  • Yuri Jahad getting a role was nice to see as well, although I wonder why Yuri is so much stronger than Endorsi when their both chosen princesses.
  • Coffee Tester is as indiscernible as ever, or I'm just confused.
  • Khun's brother seems interesting, and glad to see Khun has completely given up on the princess that betrayed him so harshly.
  • Not really sure how I feel about the Rachel turn. Earlier it seemed like she wanted Bam to not be weighed down by her (even before she faked injury). But now she wants to sabatoge him? I don't really get it.
  • The navigator tried to kill Rachel specifically ... I wonder why.

The show is picking up, but I still feel it's suffering a bit from introducing too much complexity earlier without properly explaining it. The last 2 episodes have also kept the tension more consistent, which really improved the show for me. Hopefully the last episode answers some of these questions.

As a reader I would also say that the last 2 episodes have been some of the better ones, adaptation wise. Luckily the last episode "only" covers 4 chapters (compared the the 8 that some episodes have covered) so hopefully it should be one of the better episodes.
Also, it really would make no sense for Anaak and Endorsi to put up any sort of fight against a ranker. Quant was mega nerfed during the last test and this one only pretended to fall for their initial attacks so that he could have an excuse to kill Endorsi and reduce the competition for the princesses of his own family.

Why Yuri is stronger than these ppl especially powerful than 2 princesses?
answer is Yuri is who finished tower /climbed enough to reach Zahads castle/ i think it was around 120 or something
Coffee Tester is as indiscernible as ever, or I'm just confused.
yes Coffee tester is indeed unique char but u wont hear about him for quite long time Remember the Name EVANKHELL
The navigator tried to kill Rachel specifically ... I wonder why.

btw garbage adaptation, everything is fucked, world building, characterization, and characters personalities are different from the original ,plus bad animation, art style and direction.

Kinda feel you, but I think the only thing that was really bad was the direction and the decision to turn 78 chapters into 13 episodes, that made them cut out so many important dialogues and explanations.
I think that art and animation were not so bad for a studio of this caliber, I think that if they had opted for an art style with shadows it would have been much more digestible.
Now we can only pray that the second season (the best season), will have a better treatment

Honestly, my biggest problem with this show is how... context-less every moment feels. I still have no idea what the relative geography of this Tower is, where it is in relation to the rest of the world, whether it's sort of like a nation all its own or just some hyper-advanced building, where all the powers come from, where that cave Rachel found Bam is in relation to everything else, how Khun's brother is able to just get into the tower and chat with him despite the tower supposedly being really hard to get into, whether all these weird monsters actually live in the tower or if they're brought in from outside, etc. etc. It's just not good at explaining the outside circumstances that influence the characters, the world, and the actions they take. Sure, it's trying to establish a sense of mystery and all that, but there's just so much unexplained/left up to interpretation that I 'm constantly distracted from the story by all these questions I don't have an answer to.

I think that's why Rachel's "shocking" betrayal didn't really infuriate me (well, that and manwha readers not being able to keep their damn mouths shut). I have so little knowledge of what's going on that I genuinely have no idea if there even IS a reason why she pushed him off. It's just another damn mystery that's probably gonna get drawn out forever because concrete answers are apparently above this show's pay grade.

Oh well, at least Best Girl Yuri's back on the playing field. Maybe this time she won't vanish for a full-ass season and will actually stick around to do shit.

Rak + Paracule > Rachel + Bam

As an anime only I could not enjoy the betrayal at all as every webtoon reader already spoiled that moment everywhere during the last two months. And yes, even if you just commented "god I hate Rachel so much I wish she dies" it's a spoiler, you don't need to be a genius to guess what happened. I still don't get why would you spoil something so important of your beloved product and then expect other people to enjoy it as much as you did.

Pretty intense episode again. That ending really is an iconic one for the franchise, and a big part of whats to come for the future. Really hoping for a season 2 now after this, with a better schedule. Only one more episode to go next week!

Why did Rachel say the line.

Before pushing Bam off, Rachel Said to Bam "You should Stay Here"

Also why change the fight I guess that nitpicking but I did wanna see him blow that monster in half not for the inside. It just weird changes.

Otherwise it did all work to the same outcome.

MAN!!!!! what an episode. So many questions came to my mind when I saw this episode but man, I was so happy that Yuri Jahad came back after so long. The ending, specifically, was a shock to me since I didn't read the original source material. They must release a season2 after such a Banger of a season. Yes, IK there is one more episode left for this season but I just can't emphasize on how good of a show it was

That's it? Really? That's what has webtoon readers so pissed off? Didn't really do anything for me, probably cause webtoon readers haven't shut up about "hating Rachel" since the anime was announced, but still. It was really random and felt like Rachel pushing Bam was merely for shock value. Didn't elicit any real response from me other than ok I guess that just happened. Kinda weird how the Bull can reach into that bubble, thought it was protecting them, how'd water and fish not get in but the Bull did, too convenient. Bam himself hasn't been much of a character other than being a sweet guy so I'm not invested in him enough to care about him being "betrayed", if we can even call it that. Now if it was Khun or Rak or Shibisu then I'd be messed up over it but nah, it's just Rachel. Who hasn't done much to make me feel any kind of way towards her either. Like I said felt like that moment was only there to shock us or something dumb like that. Gonna need some major explaining for me to come around, and I doubt the finale will be enough.

Rest of the episode other than the Rachel and Bam segments was cool. Loved seeing Yuri come rescue Anaak and Endorsi. The latter being a badass still with not turning on Anaak to begin with. Yuri toying with the royal cop made me laugh. She's super powerful I love it. Makes me wish she was around more. Some other things I noticed is that I'm agreeing with Lero Ro a lot about the attitude of Hansung. Why's he so damn laid back. Doesn't make sense. There was way more than one intruder during that test but he didn't care until Yuri was about to actually finish the cop. Which I'm glad he still got squashed by a giant hammer but I don't get Hansung being that carefree until the last moment. A lot of weird things that need explaining that I'm pretty sure won't be.

None of the characters are compelling enough for me to give a shit whats going on lmao.

Like Emo dudes brother showing up randomly... Is this a super-exclusive tower or the local park?

Rachel and Bams friendship looks dry at all they do is smile and say 'friends'.
So its not that deep she pushed him off. Better yet she shoulda kicked him in the nuts before pushing him. Im tired of Bams 1 dimensional character and I'm sure Rachel was over it too. GET A PERSONALITY.

That whole sequence with people saying they 'believe in bam' 'he always pulls through' confused me because... what has he actually done other than get carried by everyone. He literally just held everyone's hand and said 'friend'.

edit: The guy in the purple tracksuit SHOULD HAVE BEEN BAM. I would actually cheer this character on if he was the main character. There's no way anyone can make a case why the character of Bam, is more entertaining/worth a damn, than the tracksuit guy.

for the anime only's, At this point many people should be surpriced, shocked or simply confused as to why rachel did that and there are for sure people that are thinking "is this why most of the people hate rachel?", the answer is no, this is just the outcome of the true reason why most of the people hate her, if you want to really know why you have to watch the next episode 😊

I did enjoy Yuuri's badassery (cause I do kinda like her character design and persona) and the betrayal part (the latter for mostly the wrong reasons).
Anyone who didn't see that fucking last part coming, you really to check yourself a couple of times. While I appreciate the setup it created, it didn't prevent the entire episode from underwhelming overall. There was virtually no existing sense of tension or emotions, at least from my perspective. This goes back to the extremely lackluster directing.

I did gets lots of chuckles from the final scene, but again, as stated before, for mostly the wrong reasons. It's obviously supposed to make Baam's character go 180, and while that does qualify as character development, I often scoff at these sort of setups, unfortunately, cause it's something I can't call genuine, organic, or compelling.

There were a lot of twists this episodes, especially with that last scene, but this episode really rushed things too fast once again. I was told Bam would do something in this trial, but I wouldn't consider this doing anything since what he did wasn't really part of the trial, rather it was an outside party's interference. Maybe there is still something that he will do in the final episode.

I can't believe that I am about to say this, but the biggest problem for me this episode was OST. Yes, it might be the a great OST by itself to listen to, but the music was misplaced. The soundtrack gave an epic vibe of the slow paced variety, which was anything but this episode's pace. Even for the quick action scenes, there was a lord of the rings epic soundtrack vibe which didn't fit with the Rak fighting scenes. I am not sure if Kevin Penkin knew how his OST would be used, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was just told to make an epic OST and then someone else laid it out in the episodes. Some scenes felt right, but most this episode felt off. But maybe he did do it and this is just a unique opinion which isn't shared by anyone else.

I think reading the source material will give you a better understanding with the series. This show has been rushed a lot which lead them to skip details that should’ve been answered. Like there’s more to the power system but they didn’t touch on it. I suggest maybe reading the source material to get your answers because it’s better paced and you get a huge understanding. If your not interested, then that’s fine too.

But as a source reader, I think some of your answers should be answered in the last episode.

But yeah, I understand your confusion with the series. I really do suggest to read the webtoon but if you are not interested then it’s fine.

Wow, I don't remember the last series that almost bored me to death like this. There's not a single interesting thing in this show. Bunch of walking plot devices instead of characters, what few characters are there have no depth because there was no time to develop them in any way and the world itself is the usual incoherent clusterfuck of unimaginative and unrelated locations. And damn, how easy is to hate some of these walking plot devices. In a way, it's pretty impressive to have such a big cast and not a single likable character. At best, it's possible to feel indifferent about them.

Maybe I missed something while dozing off, but wasn't this show supposed to be hyped as hell? What was supposed to be so great? I'm expecting answers along the line of "oh, it gets better later" but come on, slow boil has its limits. We have only so much time between glaciers.

They did Rachel dirty in the anime and made her 100x more of a biatch.

In the original she didn't try suck up to Bam, didn't cry on his shoulders, didn't pretend she was repenting for abandoning him, didn't ask for forgiveness, didn't laugh and smile with him as if everything's daijobu, didn't pretend to be all lovey-dovey. She was gloomy to the last moment and it was obvious she was planning something nasty; but this felt REALLY nasty!!!

I can't believe I spent a whole week reading ToG after last week's episode because of my curiosity!

I already hated Rachel when she was being nice, but I hate her even more now.

They made a lot of changes this episode, but I am okay with most of them. Though, I wish they mentioned that the fluffy mascot isn't actually dead.

A change that I really didn't like: Khun seeing his older brother. In the webtoon, their meeting was kind of cute and funny. And, the older Khun was a video game nerd, who ends up controlling our Khun's lighthouse, and guides Yuri's teammates. lol.

The interaction between Rachel and Bam was changed a little, so my mind was really nervously glued to the screen. I almost thought they planned to make Rachel a good person, but thank god they didn't! Everyone deserves to hate the yellow turtle!!

I wanna know how anime Khun will react to Bam's "death" since he's much more closer to Bam than webtoon Khun.

I really love seeing Yuri go berserk. She acts like a protective older sister to most of the characters.

The anime cut Bam's development a lot. Here he seems extremely useless, he was also useless in the first season of the webtoon, at least he had some kind of development there, but here the uselessness is much more accentuated by the power of the rush.

I also thought the OST direction was very bad for this episode, but I don't think it's Penkin's fault, it's probably Yamaguchi Takayuki's fault, since he's the Sound Director. But he is not bad, he worked on good animes, like Steins; Gate 0, i only don't know what he was thinking here. These music cuts out of nowhere, and sloppy transitions kinda ruined those good tracks :[

The thing is, This is just the beginning, this is not at all the only reason people hate Rachel. Other than that, I would say that since the prologue has come to an end, as we go through season 2, a lot more info would be revealed to us and that is where people start liking tower of god, in reality. As source reader since the ongoing periods of season 1. I would say. It rose to it's popularity gradually as we got to the mid and past mid of season 2, it was the same as anime was at this time though the manga maintains a better pace than the anime at this point. You will be introduced decently to the world building in the season 2. So I would just like to say that; be patient, now that the prologue has ended and we are finally starting the actual story.

The thing is, in the manwha it was alot more unexpected.

Yeah, there are quite a few scenes throughout the anime that make you feel that something is wrong with Rachel, not to mention all those scenes where we can't see her eyes in this episode (like 4 of them). I remember when reading the chapter when it was published it was a huge "WTF moment" for me and for other readers.

Yo calm down, anime only. You still have no idea why we hate Rachel. This is merely the beginning.

Soooo, for a non-reader... all that hate for Rachel was because of this little push everyone knows will do nothing to the MC? Ah, give me a break.

No. It's just the beginning of the hate train. You anime onlies have only scratched the surface. Season 2 is gonna be absolutely crazy, if it ever comes out.

Well my thoughts over this episode is mixed. They managed Yuri's part well. Animation was better than previous episode. Ost was good but with rapid change of scenes feel little off.

Most of the changes were unnecessary (if anything decreases quality of source material).khun's brother scenes was changed (he was there only to use khun's lighthouse to communicate with YURI and other companions and has nothing else to do with Khun. But not only did they cut original purpose of his arrival there but add anime only scenes which I don't like).

In anime Yuri give up chase on BAM bcuz all say BAM will do it etc(which was wrong and nonsense as Administrator was taking this test and allowed them only to remove other outer interference (Ren) and if they involved any further then Administrator(big eye thing) may have taken action Yuri and her companions which pretty much mean there death so, Yuri have no choice but to leave immediately.

Well there are other things etc

Most important thing I wanted to say to all webtoon reader.you guys already spoiled other enough to make that scene lost its effect but no can't stop ruining the anime of your beloved webtoon. Now you already start saying spoiler like no, you haven't seen enough yet next there's going to be this(that) even though no one ask you.
And I'm already seeing few started to di the same in such a proud way.
