The only reason I'm not watching the next episode already is because otherwise I might suffocate.
The episode was that good.

I cried so much while watching this episode, and I rarely even do that. Tomoya remembering Nagisa when he's in the train made me cry along with him. This is probably one of my favorite episodes of AS.

My heart is literally aching from Nagisa's death to this episode and I've used so many tissues~When Tomoya was telling Ushio about her mommy the tears wouldn't stop flowing! When Tomoya realizes that although his father wasn't perfect, he truly tried his best and cared for him was so touching.

This anime has taught me a lot about life and how you always need the support of family and friends to get through life. I have become more appreciative of my own family through watching this T_T

Watching this is influencing me to become a better person and to cherish every moment of life because we don't know when we will lose our happiness. It could happen at any moment (I really miss Nagisa) T-T

First time that Clannad (as an entire series) managed to throw some onions in my eyes.

It's amazing how well you can see when Tomoya's soul broke. You can tell just by looking at his face that he broke at that moment. It might heal... eventually...

So touching... Anime was totally normal and kinda boring up until the scene where Tomoya and Ushio were on field of flowers and getting along for the first time... And the one on the train as well. I felt reaaaly emotional and actually cried a lot. I didn't expect that.
This episode is realy god, I like it so much!

First time I legit cried in front of an anime. Not just a few tears but literally crying like a bitch... And this is coming from someone who facepalmed at how stupid the melodrama was in the show up till now as well as stuff like AnoHana.

From realizing that Tomoya is walking the same path as the father that he resented and the latter's weakness in front of a trial too much for a single inexperienced young adult to handle, to the Nagisa flashback... Damn ;-;

Why do you watch an anime you deteste? Clannad doesn't need AS to work as a romcom.

Well, the actual afterstory starts with Ushios birth, that's the thing everyone is praising (I loved everything though), you might like it.

I literally cried. No wonder when Clannad is nakige. But even knowing the game, even knowing what's coming the ending five minutes totally got me.
And have to say this episode was actually way more emotional for me than episode 16 was.

But reallly, they totally gave it away, right? Now everyone has to know for sure.

Not only my favourite episode of the entire Clannad series, but probably my favourite episode of any Anime I have seen so far. The music, animation, writing, voice acting and just pure emotion that comes out of this episode are all perfect in my eyes.

The most emotional moment for me was definitely when Tomoya reminisces about Nagisa on the train and breaks down crying when he has those flashbacks of her, along with him holding hands with Ushio and realising just how precious she is to him. The first time I saw that, I just could not stop crying. It's one of the most emotional things I've seen in anything ever, not just Anime.

I love the entire Clannad series and this is its crowning achievement.

I will be very impressed if another Anime episode tops the feelings I had with this one.

This episode will break me no matter how many times I watch it, Tomoya finally realized how much his father suffered as well, they went through very similar situations, and Tomoya sees how what he did was even worse.

Both flower field scene and remembering Nagisa hit so hard, it's beautiful.

Ok, THIS is the best episode of anything I've watched this year (so far at least). It seriously was too good for an anime with such a weak start as Clannad.

It's like if you took the best thing it had and amplified it by 1000, so good.

aside from the show's conclusion in episode 22, the back half of this episode is the single most powerful thing i've ever watched, heard and felt, from any piece of art, ever. films, music, theater, tv shows, books, other anime. nothing compares to this, and it's been this way for almost eight years now. this is my seventh watchthrough and i think this is the hardest i've ever cried at this episode.

maybe it has to do with where i am in life now, or maybe it's because i start an episode already knowing the insane amount of emotion i'm gonna be overwhelmed with. but this show remains my most important and powerful artistic experience.

i have very few friends who've given this show a try, and i totally understand them. it can be tough to get through certain seemingly boring parts or accept certain dialogue, character traits, and situations. one friend told me there's just too many tragic backstories, like five or six vehicle accidents and a couple of suicide attempts, all of which are somehow related to the main cast. yep, that's a lot of tragedy for just a dozen or so characters.

the humor can be difficult to make sense of - partly because it's a visual novel port, partly because it's witty japanese humor, which we're definitely not accustomed to. and the drama... oh, the drama. some of it is just ridiculous, right?

that's why i don't push anyone who finishes Fuko's arc and remains uninterested, cause that's a fucking amazing story and it'll more or less set the tone of the narrative for what comes after it. if it doesn't move you, i guess you can drop it. it's just not for you. but at least get to that part - finish a character's arc before deciding you like or dislike an arc-based show.

i don't think there is a consistently "perfect" show, or any piece of art for that matter. for starters, what criteria a piece of art has to fulfill to be perfect? if it were, would you even need to watch/read/listen to anything else? this debate goes a long way and delves into philosophical and psychological questions that won't really give anyone a satisfactory answer.

i think there are pieces of art that are perfect for what they aim to be. that's why Clannad is and will probably remain forever my only 10/10 - it delivers in absolutely all fronts on which it promises to deliver.

came here to say this episode was amazing and ended up blabbering on about objectivity in art, so that's something.
