Forming the contract with the administrator was dope. Positions could be explained a little better, so with the shinsu. Rachel took my boii Raks choco bars, more Bamxkhun,Shibisu being over dramatic as usual, Hatz being cool. Happy to see they didn't alter their original conversation too much. Anaks back story was cut short, still did a good job. The art & animation of shinsu feels different from the background or is it me over thinking? Comic relief in this episode doesn't seem forced too much, hope they do the same in future episodes. A good 8/10 from me.

Hmm so Anaak's weapon is also one that has a spirit huh. And quite the picky one as well. Rachel sure has quite the sweet tooth though lol. So each fighter will have their own roles in the coming battles huh. Interesting names though. After so many battles its nice to see Bam get to meet his fellows on a more civilised level though. Amusing in that the next test was forging friendships. To think that the princess of Jahad was actually a title and not a role. The little fight between Anaak and Endorsi sure is interesting though as their fight is being fuelled by their own personalities. The revelation about Anaak's true identity and motive though while an excellent twist also did well in introducing a new element to the trials. Overall an excellent ep that combined well character expansion of both Bam and the support cast of Anaak and Endorsi with excellent plot advancement. Curious to see how the renewed fight between the latter two will fare now that Anaak's getting real.

This was stupid. There's no reason why Khun would be so suspicious and hateful towards Rachel, and Endorsi too? What has she done YET, to be treated so poorly? wtf?

Good episode, some training going on and the explanation on the positions was quite interesting, but I've gotta say that it felt a little bit rushed, I hope they explain more about these positions. Khun's backstory seems the most intriguing so far.

Rak is such a tsudenre, it seems like Hoh was able to sense Bam's strenght and that's why I hope they actually show Bam's training so that we don't get so many bullshit conveniences.

Rachel is a bitch, she doesn't want to get close to Bam but still seems like she also doesn't want him to be making friends, maybe I'm getting the wrong idea idk.

I did like the Endorsi x Anaak fight, some good and old character looking for revenge is always nice. But i'm still not digging into this Jahad drama so that's why I wasn't any surprised or excited about the "twist" at the end.

That's actually something the anime introduced and i find it a really good addition. Rachel "stealing" Rak's chocolate bars and eating not-so-good-looking apples shows how determined she is in going up the tower. Keep in mind that even though the regular short tests ended for now, they are in fact in the middle of the position test. They get points for excercises in their respective groups (scouts, fishermen, etc.) and a couple of people with the most points in each group will pass. And as we see in this episode the points can be used to buy food. While in this episode we see everyone buying their meals using their points, Rachel actually wants to save as much of her points as she can by eating Rak's chocolate bars and overripe apples.

Probably getting jealous over Bam(over protective). Jokes aside, Khun hates everyone related with rules. Being a princess binds you with various rules and regulations and he had bad experience with a princess case, so doesn't trust princesses the most. Bam got hurt for Rachel and Rachel told him that being together with Bam would hinder their growth, also Khun is suspicious why Rachel took care of Bam and then left him(ep 2). In any case he's overly suspicious of everyone except Bam.

She is a princess though. Being a princess is not a title, theres an actual thing that makes you one and she has that trait. Specifically it's

She didn't steal either green april or black march. Green april was effectively passed down to her and she won black march fair and square from Baam.

Anaak is pretty strong as well. I guess it's hard for us to judge at this point in the anime but all princesses are by necessity quite a bit stronger than most other people. They wouldn't survive otherwise (and plenty don't).

Nice insight into Anaak and her motives. I get the feeling she'll start growing on me slowly. A couple of questions though. Why does Anaak want the Black Marsh and why isn't she using her Green April to fight? Does she want to utilize the Black Marsh's power? Does she want to collect the swords for revenge against the Jahad?

Endorsi on the other hand is definitely growing on me. Along with Yuri and Hwa Ryun all the princesses seem likeable so far. Rachel's been far from likeable but I'm patiently waiting to see the reason why she's hated on so much. Hope she reveals her 'true colors' soon.

Rak is my favorite character without a doubt though, love that crocodile.

That form of contract with administrator kinda reminds of Naruto whenever he encounters Kyuubi in his subconscious state.

I love Anaak/imposter but I don't think she's going to win against Endorsi. I got this feeling she's not showing her full strength yet.

Anaak wants the Black Marsh and other 13 weapons because they are powerful Weapons. Some of the most powerful weapons in fact. And she not using the Green April because it is part of the training to only use proved weapons.

Khun does not trust anyone besides Bam, Rak and maybe his own shadow. I mean he was betrayed by his sister and his family went to ruin because of that (or well, to be better put, he was kinda exiled from the family).

The contractor´s scene was really nice. That thing looked creepy in the webtoon and here as well. My only complain have to do with Shinsu right now, but I guess they will change it as the series progresses.

Endorsi is best girl and her voice fits really well.

More world-building is taking place and more backstories are revealed, unlike other world-building concepts this one doesn't have time to place filler after such an important event. This episode was pretty light obviously, but still well done. 4/5

Plus that soundtrack is fricking amazing. GOD TIER

While I'm not a fan of Anak myself, she's pretty badass from what we've seen so far.
And no, she didn't steal a sword from someone who was sleeping. She won the bet.

Another thing, just because you don't find her badass doesn't mean others won't either. What qualifies as badass for you might not be the same for others and vice versa.

I think in the anime Anaak wants the black march just because it's a strong weapon but it's sort of the goal of all princesses to collect all 13 monthly series weapons.

I feel like it's actually easier to follow in the webtoon. Going a bit more in depth gives you a bit more time to digest some of the info. Also, we will soon get to see the positions in action and that will help understand the basic positions a lot better than the verbal explanation did.

To sum it up though.
Fisherman - tanks
Spearbearer - physical dps
Scout - support/off tank/off dps
Lightbearer - support
Wave Controller - Magic dps/support

People aren't hard locked into positions, like theres nothing stopping a lightbearer from using a spear, it's just the way they divided it up.

Useless trivia that probably won't be explained in the anime but the roles came from long ago before the tower was filled with cities and stuff where fighting against the creatures that live in the tower was a big deal.

There are also other rare positions like navigator (we see the short dude with yuri, evan, who is one), anima (beast tamer), and fire user (which we see some of in season 2). Only 2 races can be navigators being silver dwarfs (what evan is) and
. I can't remember if thats it. I guess technically pentaminum (rank #1, irregular) is classed as unknown as he is actually an

I'm sad they didn't include the scene from the manwha where Bam tries to play matchmaker for Endorsi and Hatz and says to her "he's muscular! And he can teach you tricks with his sword!" with the purest expression ever.

Still a good episode though, and the scene with Endorsi and Anaak was super interesting.

No I think she may hidden inventory like Yuri did in the first episode.

It is not about art, it is about how they illustrate this technique. In the webtoon, after using shinso enhancement, Anak could travel a long distance instantly. So, it does make sense why it is called shinso enhancement because this technique improves physical capabilities. Nevertheless, in the anime, this technique merely produces some water.

What are you even talking about? Firstly, I think the webtoon art is great. It wasn't as good in the beginning, yes, but currently I love it.
But what does that have to do with the argument of changing every single shinsu manifestation into water in the anime?
Shinsu can be turned into literally anything in the webtoon, fire, lighting, you name it. I get that its basic form looks like water after being condensed, but I feel body reinforcement is one where it should manifest differently. It looked like Anaak slipped on a wet floor.

Shinsu means divine water so unless it's being transformed into another element, I see no issue with it having water effects. Body enhancement isn't changing it into anything else, it's just enhancing her body with it's power. What visual effect do you want it to have?

They got the basics. Not much you can do in 24 min without making it an exposition dump.

I really liked that this episode was primarly focused on characterization and world building. Little conversations like the one between Hatz, Shibisu, Khun and Baam give you a lot of info about these characters. Also, the worldbuilding is the absolute best thing in ToG and also in the anime adaptation.

Endorsi sure is peeking my interest the most right now, with the truth of Anaak revealed, there's more I want to know of Endorsi!

A lot of training this episode, Bam is quickly growing with his training and some other people who are in the same "class" as him has also realized this.

Just review episode 32 of the webtoon and compare it to the anime. Using this technique only creates a small aura of Shinsu around Anak's feet. However, what matters is that in the webtoon, using this technique allows Anak to jump high or travel a long distance instantly. None of these happens in the anime. She literally just produces some water without any visible function.

Background stories and fighting motivations are revealed (Anaak wants revenge from the Jahad sisters who killed her mom/aunt(?) ) and the bonds between the characters are strengthening.

Her biological mother and father were both killed. First, the father and later the mother. Her mother was the owner of the Green April and that's why she posesses such a strong weapon despite being a regular (someone who is still climbing the tower).

She's not addicted to chocolate, she is conserving her points so she can pass. You need a certain amount of points to pass the test and you also have to spend some of them on food which they mentioned this episode. Her eating shitty rotten apples and stolen chocolate bars are indicating that either she is hyper devoted to making sure she passes or more likely that she does not have any points to spare on food and is struggling.

A dialogue heavy episode.
This position selection was interesting, so there are five categories for fighters inside the tower: fishers, spearmen, lamplighters, explorers and wave manipulators; and so each one of them begins to train in their assigned category, I'm wondering how these positions will work in combat. Our main trio is put on different categories, and we see them facing these categories: Khun bored with his classes, Rak anxious to show his strenght, and Bam learning about Shinsu; with all the data info they were being sent, I wonder which category Khun is into, Rak was feeling more confortable than usual till the giant from Rachel's team came to beat him, that was funny, glad for him that he hit the bulls-eye anyway, and the part of Bam making a pact for controlling the Shinshu was really interesting, I would love to see more of that.
It was great to see a lot more of character interactions this episode, Khun, Bam, Rak (in tsundere mode, xD), Shibisu, Hatz, Anaak, Androssi, Ho, Lauroe, Serena... everyone got a little spotlight this time, it was wonderful to see them sharing some screentime and stablishing some new relations, like the rivalry between Khun and Hatz or Ho being envy of Bam (also, lol, Shibisu fell for the horny one very quick). Also, it was good that after not seeing her during practically all the past episodes, Rachel had a good amount of screentime, furthermore, in spite of trying to manipulate Khun (and succeeding) and being jealous of Bam getting new friends, I'm liking Rachel so far, it may be all the mystery build up around her, but I feel a strange charm out of her that make me wish to see more of her.
Finally, Anaak vs. Androssi was a bit short, but a pretty good fight, it was clear that Anaak was really serious about it while Androssi didn't saw her as a menace and was just joking with her, but the unexpected outcome was truly a great payoff: so Anaak Jahad (or Zahard, anyway) isn't her name, but her mother's, and her murder is the prime motive of her revenge race against those who she blames, the Jahad (or Zahard) princesses, and actually Androssi, and Yuri I guess, is her aunt; surely this is gonna escalate as a big conflict between the princesses. It may be a bit unnecessary, but I would love to explore more of her backstory, I think seeing how all that happened could be a good addition to the series, and to know her actual name, also.

Animation wise, I agree that there were some visible problems in both main drawings and interbetweening, but it wasn't too big of a deal; also, the soundtrack was a lot more atmospheric this episode, but as great as always nonetheless.

Well, a more soft episode, wit a lot of build up. I'm excited to see what comes next.

Good Episode... hoping more.. and more to come...

I think that might be to get a bit more time in the episode to fit more stuff in. The series is struggling with fitting so many chapters into 13 episodes as it is, which led to a lot of cut content/dialogue and this episode especially really tried to fit a lot of dialogue heavy chapters into it.

They cut the scene when Lauroe taught Bam to form a Shinsu-ball (?) for the first time. That's an important scene in my opinion. Why? Because it tells you how difficult it is to control Shinsu.

Yeah yeah, Bam is the main character and thus he's predetermined to be a talented person and he can use whatever power as he pleases without many explanation beforehand. But hell... When you're being considered as a weakling and able to form a Shinsu ball then got acknowledged by a Phonsekal family member - who is literally born as a Wave Controller - left a huge impression as a character for Bam and those around him.

Conclusion? Go read the f*cking source material, guys...
