Except that Hikawa was willing to kill whoever has seen her face.

that's because her identity as a monster whatever was discovered though. If she managed to take the coin and escape she probably would've not ended up trying to kill them

wow, I so hated ep 1, I found the main guy pathetic and the main girl despicable
but in this world everything is seem to be so extreme and the main girl has such circumstances that she doesn't look that much of a horrible character now
the main guy is still a wuss but he seems to be getting over it rather quickly
and the fight scene was pretty epic

so I'll be checking out the next episode, this show might turn out to be pretty good

Hopefully they'll be able to keep these fights up, I'm really interested in the range of abilities they may introduce. I just hope our MC's don't stagnate and actually develop.

Also, does this count as Shuichi losing his virginity lmao

But since neither Shuuichi nor Clair knows what going on, they are unaware that Hikawa was operating alone (also not knowing what going on either), then they can't be sure no one else will come looking.

Also, funnily, I think Hikawa overhead most of the conversation on the bridge, where Clair said "It seems to be related to you monsters somehow" - I don't think she took enough precaution over the male that that comment was directed at...

This is the episode where things kick into high gear. For better or worse, Shuuichi and Kurea must stick by each other's side. I'm really intrigued by the mystery surrounding Kurea's sister, especially because it seems to be connected to Shuuichi in some way. Speaking about Shuuichi, he does become a more sympathetic character in this episode. Not only is he forced to live with a really bad condition, he has to live with the knowledge that he took a life. This incident, however, does make his partnership with Kurea more understandable, they are both damaged in some way. All in all, this was a fine episode and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I hope that ryona lovers are ecstatic because this was really awesome and brutal fighting animation, didn't expected sakuga of this caliber for a one off fight in the second episode of the show, anyway I loved it, too bad for the tomboy sport girl, she could have been a good ally but got donut-ed.

Seems like the author is really proud of his reverse sexual metaphor with the girl penetrating the guy instead of the opposite but as for me, an almost naked girl entering a mascot suit full of flesh and body fluids is a fetish I didn't know I could get but I got in the end.

Drama somewhat wasn't that cringy and even kinda good, I feel this hero has a reason to be afraid even if I'll be jubilating at his place but still, they both are understandable if you consider Claire is clearly a fucking psycho.

We got Kana Hanazawa in an onee-san role ? Alright best show of the season, even Kaguya can't compete, I'm sorry 10/10 would tuturu again

This shit's weird as fuck. I'm genuinely uncomfortable. And the fanservice is so incredibly unnecessary. This anime is just trying its absolute hardest to be a Mirai Nikki clone and it's expectedly worse than Mirai Nikki, which is already a terrible anime.

2/10, dropping.

Everything being overly sexual for no reason is a bit annoying. Story is bleh in my opinion, but the animation seems surprisingly good for an anime like this...

It is at least a little entertaining. Second episode much better than the first with a good fight scene. Not writing it off just yet!

Why is show so damn horny, its tries to take itself really seriously but also look boom random ecchi stuff just for the sake of it, like as specific example why did Clare grab her ass for no reason when describing how it felt to wear shuichi and have shuichi upset with her about killing the other girl. I have no grand issue with ecchi content as long as is self aware about it and/or uses it appropriately in less serious scenes or if the show is out in out a light hearted one. I'll give another episode but I'm starting to feel a bit iffy about it.

This was so refreshingly hardcore watching Clair put that girl down. Clair is exactly what Shuichi needs to finally grow a pair. His monster form is somewhat symbolic of his human form...an empty shell of a man.

As with episode 1, beautiful animation.

Story seems pretty interesting so far with room for the main characters to grow. It sort of reminds me of Darwins Game (which i just watched last week) but darker

One of the standouts of the season for me personally.

Alright, time for me to break down everything in this episode.

For one thing, the animation.. here's the deal. The fight in this anime had more of my attention then pretty much anything this season so far. Tower Of God? Nah. Good old fashioned Gleipnir looks like it came out on top this time around. Every punch in that fight had weight to it, every kick had force that dented the environment. Welp it helps when both combatants are giving it their all, that's what allows for it to be gripping. Nice little bit of back and forth, clearly the combo of Claire and MC can do a lot more then MC on his own.

On the subject of restraint, it's time to talk about our girl Claire. First episode, she was kinda bitchy. After this episode though, there's a clear shift in the dynamic of the relationship between our main duo. It's as she said in this episode, he packs the brawn while she possesses the drive. She was savage. Definitely savage. Despite that, Claire does at least show the girl some mercy by shooting her to get it over with. She could have easily tortured this girl by breaking both her legs and arms, all the monster parts. But Claire was straight and to the point.. so I say good on her.

So now they're learning that it's best when the two of them are together. It's good for the story because the MC is clearly coming to terms with the situation in front of him, all while she's learning about his hesitation when it comes to this monster power.

On a side note, the ecchi scenes are dialed down enough that they're not as in-your-face. I was fine with the first episode but with the way it was used here, I felt like it allowed for everything else to shine more. As cultured people know, it's one thing to have fanservice but fanservice that fits in naturally with everything else only makes it better.

Overall, I consider this episode an improvement on the first. I consider it a shame that this show was score bombed for the first episode. This definitely has potential which is far beyond the 6.8 that Gleipnir currently stands at the time of this post.

The answer to your question is that there's a holster on the right side of the 'monster'. The following is an image from the first episode that shows it:

If you look back at that burning building scene you can see the holster from a different angle.

Usually the arms are so big that they obscure the location of the holster though. Either it's the arms or it's the fact that we see the 'monster' from its left side.

I would say that this episode caused more impact than the first, of course the first episode was a preparation for this scenario, the fight scene was very animated, and a little strange but I must get used to it, now fight for a currency that is not yet known what exactly it does is stupid, right after that the anime gave more emphasis to the protagonists besides leaving a good mystery behind.

Ahhh, I gotcha. I was wondering how she managed to carry a gun all that time, then get it outside the suit and into the monster's hand. And I didn't think Shuuichi would have one... But yeah, that would explain it. Thanks!

The attacking girl knows exactly what it does - it grants wishes. She may want to revert her first wish or get some additional powers. The defending pair fight for their life. There is nothing stupid about motivation of both of them. If you don't grasp such trivial plot points you should be careful throwing "stupis" around.

Alright.. since I can see there was a teeny bit of drama going on up there I want to shift this conversation back to Gleipnir. Since I've already posted my general thoughts about the second episode a couple hours ago, I'm going to instead throw out an idea that I kind of wonder if this anime will explore.

Claire said that the inside of MC was empty, and as we all know it can clearly fit a human inside who can also operate it. One little curiosity I have is just how much this show can have fun with that ability. Meaning, perhaps MC can stick more then just the girl inside of him while he's fighting. It can range from a wide variety of things, from intel that needs to be protected to other stuff he could get his hands on. Welp, I think despite him being a monster MC isn't the type to go get his hands on weapons but maybe he could do that?

Or better yet, he could probably put other people inside him. I don't think that you'd want an enemy inside of him since putting a conscious person inside of him would risk them taking control of him. But I do wonder if he could put an unconscious person inside of him and still have control over his body.

Perhaps I'm being a little bit too creative with this, but it was just a random thought.

Yep exactly. In the spirit of drowning out that not Gleipnir-related business, care to offer your opinion on my thoughts of alternate uses for the inside of the MC? Or anyone else? (For those who didn't see my thoughts I am referring to post #96)

Throughout the episode I keep finding Aoki Claire’s voice oddly familiar, but couldn’t think of a VA with the voice tone. Then I came to MAL and see “Nao Toyama” as her VA!!!
Hard to imagine the VA famous for her “Ayayas” and cute girly characters voicing this suicidal, sensual killer girl.

Nao really tweaked her tone to have a lower tone with more bass. And I can’t lie, its actually very sexy....I heard from a youtube interview that she wanted to star in a villian role, and she really seems to be reinventing herself with her voice acting.

Well done Nao-chan, very keen to hear her voicing Claire in later episodes as well.
