| The lack of Princess Tutu in this thread saddens me. Princess Tutu is the best magical girl anime for sure from what I have seen, but I have to check out Fancy Lala to see what Omori Takahiro (and series creator Tomomi Mochizuki) can do with a mahou shoujo series. |

| It's Princess Tutu for me. I love how it mimics the feel of watching a ballet while maintaing the magical girl anime formula. I would also say Revolutionary Girl Utena, but that's almost a satire of the genre. |

| I feel like the only one I've seen is Tokyo Mew Mew, but I don't even know if that would count as a "magical girl". When I started watching CCS, it was too childish for me and I couldn't last more than 5 episodes, sadly. Princess Tutu was just plain painful and I stopped after 1 episode. Shugo Chara looks just as painful to me. I'm not really a fan of shoujo. I don't really remember much about Sailor Moon from when I watched it a child on TV in Russia. |

| Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura (though I grew up with CCS's manga first) are childhood favorites for me. Princess Tutu and Magic Knight Rayearth are enjoyable so far, but I'll have to finish watching them before I can give a concrete opinion on it. But my favorite magical girl anime right now is Madoka Magica. Uta Kata comes really close, though— I would've liked it more if the fanservice was less of a focus and if the art was a bit better (wasn't convinced to watch it at first cuz of the MAL picture). |
