this was absolutely incredible and I think I’m gonna need a solid 25 years before I can stop sobbing :’))
The paint on glass frames with Mob and Reigen melted my heart and I adore how much love and detail Bones puts into animating this series, right down to the facial expressions. It’s incredible!

Man. From the beginning I thought this show is going to be another One Punch Man. You know, badass fight and OP character. But Mob Psycho blast me of with its characters development. It's simply wholesome. The relationship between Reigen and Mob/Shigeo.

It is true that Reigen must go through all this mess because he needs to realize how precious Mob is in his life. He has to learn to give much more credit to his one and only genuine friend. But despite all his shitty treatment to Mob, it doesn't hinder the fact that Reigen is also the one who saved Mob from the past when he despised his psychic power.

Man, truly wholesome. 10/10

It's really not worth responding to a troll who fires a controversial opinion for the sake of being edgy in a thread which appreciates a certain character. Do you have nothing better to do?

Well then indicate when he changed his character and how it was portrayed?? Don't give me all these half assed comments.

near the end of press conference, he acknowledge his mistakes
"i havent changed at all since then"
"i just kept using him"
"he wanted to changed, yet i tried to caged him in"

he acknowledge all of those mistakes and congrulate mob growth in the end
"You've grown up so much. You know that."

And yes reigen is an annoying asshole. but he clearly doesnt ruin the show

Oh God, Mob was so cute when he was a kid >.<

It was a nice episode. Reigen has received lots of character development in these last two episodes and I have to say it was handled in a fantastic way.

Looking forward to the next arc!

WOW! Just WOW! I'm fascinated by how good this episode was.
Reigen has this fantastic ability to remain calm, the press conference was really good, he did a fantastic job and let's call it a "comeback" xD

I wonder if it was really Mob who did that, or it was truly Reigen? xD
What a great episode, glad that Reigen realized what he did wrong and how to get over it.
But that ending was fantastic because now nobody will doubt about his powers xD

Now i guess the real action begins? Since the next episode will be about his first love, and....oh boy, it will be interesting xD

I love Reigen... he comes off as such an unsavoury person at first glance, but he's actually incredibly vulnerable, wise (in a jaded way) and kind. And he did such good by Mob too, which is the sweetest thing. Those two were lucky to have met each other when they did.

Reigen was always a good guy, even when we knew how he exploited Mob, he always had the biggest heart. Seeing Reigen in this arc was a blast of fresh air, adding realism to his otherwise fairy tale like development. That Mob season was the best icing on any cake.

Now that's what I wanted to see. No flashy animations needed, just pure character development with exquisite execution

Might honestly be the best Mob Psycho episode so far in either season

You know it was well animated and quite flashy from the standpoint of character animation. Some people from episode 5 were there too, Hiromitsu Seki, Shin Ogasawara, one of leaders in current webgen movement like Tatsuya Yoshihara too. Even Apocrypha chief animation director Yuukei Yamada too. Oh, not to mention genius animator like Tomohiro Shinoda who recently just animated "flashy" (probably by your standard) animation in Boogiepop.

But the real surprise is Hiroyuki Aoyama, the legend himself helped Kameda and his team to animate the ending, replacing the usual ED animation by Ayako Hata, who might come to your suprise, Aoyama and Hata are married couple (they also just recently worked together as character designer and animation director in Hosoda's Oscar nominated movie Mirai no Mirai).

Character animation is my favorite form of animation, so this episode was a blessing from sakuga heaven for me. But saying Mob doesn't need "flashy" animation sounds so wrong. Sometimes I even see people feeling jealous and irked by episode 5 done by Hakuyu Go and said it was overanimated (wtf is that even), but if that episode was, so is this episode.

It's so nice to see someone else who's this appreciative of the talent behind this season. People really like to downplay just how well-done episode 5 was for some reason.

Jesus, when Reigen asked Mob if he knew I felt a little lump in my throat but when Mob said he was a good guy I couldn't stop crying for a solid few minutes. I didn't expect to feel this strongly about these two but I absolutely adore them.
This show has my heart now. I love it to death.

Also I want the full insert song so bad! edit: Oops, I forgot. The insert was the first ED for S2.

I find it disappointing that there are some people that went into this series/anime just expecting some big fight every 2 episodes and that'd be enough for a "great" or "masterpiece" series.

This episode has solidified the fact that the anime/series doesn't JUST want to focus on some EBIN fites left and right but actually does want you to care just as much for the actual characters.

And honestly everyone that complains about this season being too "SOL" really downplay how well crafted the actual characters are and that's a shame :/

That's a childish answer.

But hey, I might have jumped too fast to a conclusion about him not changing his character, we'll see in the next episode. Sadly there was not a single indicator about him changing in this ep.

> Character development cyle only finishes at the end of the episode
> Complains about not seeing any change yet
:PikaWat:

I saw your other replies and sorry bud but you should realize after someone like Dimple and Hanazawa you aren't immediately going to see instant changes by the very next episode. One likes to take his development in a gradual pace instead of instant "oh I'm bad, now I'm good". Hell even in S2 Dimple is still seen as a guy that's just ultimately waiting to take over Mob and his powers with no proper indication of "oh, I actually like the kid enough to not take him over and run off".

Hanazawa started as a delusional person believing he was the one and only in S1 and ended up being humble enough to offer the other psychics to learn how to use their powers properly. And that wasn't from episode 4-5, it literally took half the season to properly see how much he's changed.

Also you should consider that he didn't beg Mob to do what he did, Mob voluntarily did it because he actually cares about Reigen. While sure I was starting to hate Reigen in the last ep and this one until the last couple minutes he's not inherently a scummy guy. He's opportunistic at best.

And what would Mob actually do if he was given the credit? Mob while much more confident than in the past season wouldn't really want dozens of reporters constantly chasing him and his family for every single detail every minute of his life.

In 2009,just before entering a new decade Bones made a "liitle show" called FMA:Brotherhood which just accidentally becomes this iconic show that everyone who watch or at least heard about the anime knows,it adamantly cemented Bones as this AAA-studio in eyes of anime community, good nostalgic times, right? And now in year 2019,again just before hitting a new milestone for our history they airing another little show that I'm 100% sure will be considered one of the classic anime in future, because Mob psycho 100 has everything-it nails comedy, drama, action, characters and their development, insainly creative production value and just,it feels so...REAL,i dunno how to describe it properly,I feel that passion energy in every drawing,it's like watching truly memorable piece of art that I never forget... And yeah,I also cried today, thanks Bones for warming my soul using my dear boys friendship!

This season is even better than the previous one, HOW.

The pace, the character development, the story telling, EVERYTHING is perfect. This last ep juste made me have to pause 3 times from over emotion.

First the cringe. Then the thrill. Finally the joy. Man did I cry at the end, it was really beautiful.

I love Reigen, because he's an a**hole, and because I know he's not just an a**hole. It was a genuine telling of his feelings and fears, and of his fateful meeting of Mob. Seriously, amazing.

Well, I'd argue you do see him changing gradually, just as you see mob changing gradually. Change doesn't happen in an instant. What I like about him and this show in general is that it shows people as complicated and having layers which is reality. Reigen, based on some of his actions and business practices, seems like a piece of crap but that doesn't mean he's 100% piece of crap because he's done some good things too (especially for mob). To be clear I'm not arguing about what outweighs the other, that's a different conversation.

Move over, episode 5, as this episode is now my favourite of Mob Psycho 100 overall.

As someone who already likes Reigen, seeing him getting humiliated on public T.V by the jealous old bastard psychic was depressing. Reigen did what he could, even though he knew that the child actor was fishy, but he still fell for the trap planted for him. As a result, the media and online community bashed Reigen to pieces, even making him into a meme as well!

The press conference that followed was also hard to watch at times, but it really showcased just how much that Reigen likes Mob and how he regrets his stinging words that he said to Mob in the last episode.

The flashback showing how Reigen first met Mob was touching and heart-warming. Simply put, it made me smile for the whole flashback and when Reigen left the press conference and walked into Mob out in town, Mob's honest feelings were voiced out when he said that "Reigen is a genuine good guy". Reigen looked almost ready to cry after Mob said that and as for me, I went from cringe, to surprise, then to joy and finally left with blurry, watery eyes from the start to the end of this episode.

Reigen might be a con artist, a fraud, someone that you most likely don't want to spend any money on his services whatsoever, but deep down, he is a caring guy who looks out for people he really cares about and Mob is that person that Reigen looks out for. Their bond is pretty much impossible to break at this point now. It's why Reigen is a character that the vast majority, myself included, really like and after this episode, I'm sure that he'll be liked even more.

10/10 for this episode. Excellent character development, great use of OST and great character animation in general. It was simply amazing. =3

Reigen has learned a lesson but that doesn't mean that his character will change.

Reigen is still Reigen until the end. I'm not a big fan of him to be honest (even though i can relate to him in some aspects) but after this arc, I began seeing him in a different light. He genuinely cares for mob and to me, that's all that matters.

This episode was great and made me cry :')

I'm already hoping for season 3. I hope that they will cover the whole manga.

Amazing episode. We got to see the rise and fall of Reigen and his long sought after "fame", his strong desire "to be somebody", someone special, the sort of special that he found in Mob, but also that which shouldn't be flaunted or taken advantage of. We witness the powerful lessons he has learned, and him seeing what is really most important in life. And that ending...Mob was just appreciative of how much of a good guy Reigen is. Man, the feels...

A strong contender for the best episode of Mob to date along with this season's 5th episode in my opinion.
