Ok ı just read it along with some comment and i like to write it down something

BM's children personality has some suppress freedom ideology.
They all try hardest to accepted by their society. Some hid what people dont like about themselves--kata's mouth, puding's eye- some use cuteness -lampe is latest example-
This is coming from what BM likes. She likes sweet things. So they try to be sweet or not ugly in particular
Realizing this give me even more impact on katakurşi's behave in this episode. After Lampe do what BM would do in this situation-she got a fan clup but goes 180 degree after see kata's mouth- yet Kata choose freedom in this case. Luffy is the man who pull him off this system. It's not about what he shows people anymore. It's about what he feels. He does what Lola and Chiffon does/did.
He is not just strip and show his mouth. He shows what he hides. Expose his true self by his own will.

They don't have any free will. They have to cover up they back all the time. Sanji shows Puding there are people who will look after you even after you show them what you really are. Luffy shows Katakuri "there is no such a thing as playing dirty" and that's ok. They have this admiration for them.

My only problem in these recent chapters tho, is that ODA-sensei kind a play dirty either. That wound luffy got from spear looks more deadly last chapter-maybe it was a foresee and Luffy saw and able to dodge some of it?-. I hope ODA-sensei wont use this foresee thing to create fake tension for the next chapters. I mean Naruto use this for clone shadow and i admit it was a good plot twist for a 1 or 2 times but rest i keep telling "it's a clone again right? Yep im right again." or when in dragonball "They would come back somehow. There is no impact on being dead"

This chapter opened up a few inconsistensies that are objectively bad writing, despite the enjoyment I had from it.

1.Katakuri killed people for finding out his secret a few chapters ago.

2.Now this chapter he doesn´t kill Flambe, which is understandable, but he also leaves the worthless henchmen alone that openly insult him.

3. Katakuri was seen and insulted by many kids growing up,
Did everyone from his past die before telling anyone how he looks under the mask?

Major plothole.

4. Bad writing. Katakuri was shown as a merciless guy willing to kill his own men.
He "killed" the cooks because of the chance of them revealing his secret.
Characterizing him as the type of guy "Luffy hates the most", a reoccuring theme of this Manga.
Now this chapter he´s written as a honorable guy, meant to be liked by the audience.

That´s bad writing!

Does no one notice something is wrong with Luffy Kenbunshoku Haki in this chapter?

Katakuri said that Luffy is close to perfecting Kenbunshoku Haki to predict future but Luffy can't even sense the dart from Flambe?

Dogtooth couldn't sense it either, I think it simply comes down to: they were both intensely focused on the fight, thus neglected their surroundings.

It isn't inconsistent if you view it as a change of will. He has decided to stop hiding his secret and therefore it makes no sense to kill them. Simply put he has decided to abandon his sense of shame.

As for the kids, there is way too little information to go jumping down that rabbit hole.

If that is really what you got from everything up to now about Katakuri. Then you really need to get an appointment with a doctor and get your brain checked, because there must be some loose screws. Don't mean any disrespect, I just got heated up when all the foreshadowing all the build-up, all the hints have been there since Katakuri was introduced.

It's true Katakuri killed people before when someone found out about his secret. Only few chapter's ago he would with no mercy kill everyone, maybe and just maybe, even his sibling if they were to find out about his true face.

This chapter is Katakuri accepting all of his scar from the past, all of his sorrow, even himself and being true to himself and accepting his face. Basically, he gets character development and if he went on a killing spree, even spread a bit of blood of someone else cause they saw his true face that would make his development invalid and that is what you can call bad writing.
Whereas this is great-great writing with Oda's unique twists, if you've been following One Piece up to now it should've been obvious to an extent of what Oda would do with Katakuri's character, so you calling all of his work "bad writing" really gets on my nerves and triggers me, so please, next time actually do some research before spouting nonsense.

Not sure if you actually notice the pattern of Kenbunshoku Haki throughout the manga, but if something was not direct to the target, target will not likely to notice.

Which I think, is why Dogtooth didn't notice.

However, there is another case is when someone reveal his presence to 'everyone', then Kenbunshoku Haki will also notice.

The type of people Luffy hates the most are people like Kuro and Caesar who view their crewmates as disposable tools for their goals, Katakuri is different because killing those chefs was motivated by a deep sense of shame and trauma from his childhood.

Which he abandoned in this chapter.

And having honorable qualities doesn't mean Katakuri is a good person, it just means he's not a one dimensional villain which anyone can appreciate even if they dislike other parts of their character. So no it's not bad writing having Luffy hate Katakuri (which he doesn't btw) while also having the audience have other feelings on the character.

By far the best chapter of this arc!!!

If we sum up all the major things of it we get:

- Conqueror Haki class!
- A wonderful way to get rid of Flampe!
- A strong villain (I think the first one) that respects Luffy and, foremost, himself!
- Flashback from Luffy's two-year training with Rayleigh!
- Luffy is the first person to respect Katakuri's true form!
- Lots of food for thought about the future of One Piece!

Luffy will probably be recognized as a Yonko after defeating Big Mom and claim Fishman Island under his guarded territory. I agree with opinions saying that Katakuri will take on Big Mom Pirates and respect the family members that have faced discrimination as childs or even adults (like Chiffon and Pudding). I'm also almost sure that Pudding will join the Straw Hats along with Jinbe. As for Bege, his crew and Chiffon, they may assist Katakuri with the formation of the New Big Mom Pirates. I finally think that even though Katakuri will get beaten by Luffy, these two will eventually keep respecting each other and even get befriended and form a Yonko alliance.

Something irrelevant to this chapter: In the little further future, Franky will probably upgrade Thousand Sunny or (1% possibility) construct a new ship. Maybe his dream fully comes true by building a ship greater than Gol D. Roger's. He can do this by only upgrading TS.

The only thing that pissed me off is that Katakuri's self injury was the only way for Luffy to beat him. So, though it was an Oda's ''pure'' trick to keep the story going, it is something we can overlook as he is a respectable mangaka, probably as a person too, who keeps respecting his readers for over 20 years now...

In conclusion, I may be missing something, as well as GODA is totally unpredictable, so I hope that at least a tiny fraction of my predictions will come true... :P

Luffy is the only one who is ignorant of Katakuri's mouth. To Luffy it was just a trivial thing. He could have messed up Katakuri's focus with this. He didn't make any comments or pay any attention at all. This makes me respect Luffy even more.
