Just noticed how many games he's played for you, has he gone downhill with age?

He's gone downhill since he moved to central defence. Good right back in his day but not good enough at anything a central defender should be good at.

Good signing for Wednesday that. Always liked Boydy. Was cracking on loan for us a few years back and we would've signed him permanently if he didn't fail an eye test during his medical. Loved his celebration when he then came and scored against us though.

interesting you mention the eye test I've just read an article in our local paper about it

"Alex McLeish came on to apologise and we later found out it was the manager who replaced him a few weeks later, Billy Davies, who didn't want Boyd. That was heartbreaking.""

Literally the same thing was said 4-5 years ago when Spain ruled Football.

The Germans are OP and all, but with the squad Spain is building right now, I wouldn't be surprised if the German-Spain rivalry becomes the strongest rivalry in International Football.

We got some good times ahead of us.

What we learned from the 2016-17 season:

- Real Madrid have cemented their position as Europe's top dogs with a third Champions' League trophy in the past four years. Florentino Pérez has built arguably the strongest squad that football has ever seen.

- Italian football is still a mess, but Juventus offers hope. A club that continues to dominate Serie A while also remaining competitive in Europe despite losing their best players season after season. All Directors of Football and scouts should follow The Old Lady's template.

- In Germany, a newly promoted team managed to finish second in the league table. What in tarnation?

- A return to normality in the Premier League this season after Leicester's bizarre title triumph in the 2015-16 season, perhaps the only shock being Arsenal's failure to retain Champions League qualification. The best managers are all managing in the Premier League and the money involved is getting more and more ridiculous with each passing season, yet performances in Europe continue to disappoint. One of the most competitive and exciting leagues in the world, but not the strongest.

With that said, it's now on to silly season.

Did you just say sawker?

I hope I didn't hear you say sawker bro.

All this thunderspunking of money is all good and well but we need strength in depth in defence, if Mark Hudson plays at any point next season then we might as well declare relagation now. Could do with at least another centre half to partner Schindler or as back up and maybe a left back. That midfield and attack is sorted though. Wouldn't mind getting shut of a couple of players that probably won't do much and hopefully recoup some of the spend

Sooo supposedly Man Utd got Romelu Lukaku for £75m:
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40516483

Honestly didn't expect him to end up there (thought he'd end up at Chelsea) but okay. Not entirely sure if I should believe this yet though

We just sold dorrans to rangers for not very much money. press repoerts saying bewtween 750k and 1.5 million

Probably saved like 4 or 5 million in wages though. We should get a decent defender in for that.

Howson to go next and then there shouldn't be any major departures.

Looking on the bright side I suppose this allows us to keep hold of Pritchard, Oliveira and the Murphy boys.

Howson and Dorrans leaving would have generated about 20 million including wages saved, I'm sure that'll be put into some decent defenders.

Hate how Defoe always scores against us, but huge respect to the man for the support he showed Bradley and his family while the young boy was still alive. Doesn't bear thinking about what his family are going through right now.

so United actually signed Lukaku, great signing, he's super young, scored 20+ goals for the last 3 seasons, and with the better support he should score more. now chelsea are going to have to settle with a spanish bench warmer that could very well fail in the premier league lmao. and that's if they even buy him.

Nah maybe Costa will somehow stay, doubt they will go for Morata given how Perez just asks for absurd amount of money but who knows.

Will be interesting to see how Lukaku performs, people call him a flat track bully but he also got goals for Everton who doesn't create many chances so yeah. He disappears from some games like Ozil tho.

Nah, Costa is definitely leaving, he already said that he isn't in Conte's plan next season, and i seriously doubt he'll run back to him with his tail between his legs.
he is going to Atletico some how, it's not like the alternatives are any cheaper either, what is it Belotti? they'll need to pay a 100 million for him.

Idk, there aren't many alternatives. The thing is even if he signs for atletico he won't be able to play until January for the transfer ban and apparently he has been assured that his place in national side won't be affected in that way.

Torino president is adamant that belloti costs 100 m or more and so he won't be leaving for sure.
