And of course, we know now that there differnt kinds of Kabanes. Obvious reference to Attack on Titan. This show turns more and more retarded with each episode released. It still got ways to go before it catches up to your level of retardation though. Those elders were scared and wanted to take the risk of an attack to arrive sooner. What, can't an anime show people making incorrect decisions anymore without the whole show being branded retarded? In the first episode of FMA:B (your personal 9/10) many people mistake Alphonso as the famous fullmetal alchemist even though that is 'gasp' incorrect, what a stupid fucking show that entire series is simply because of a portrayal of that believable mistake -or not. You thought this was about zombies despite there never being such a claim from the writers? I guess you were wrong, end of story. And of course, we know now that there differnt kinds of Kabanes. Obvious reference to Attack on Titan. No it's an OBVIOUS reference to Lord of the rings in which there are several different types of Orchs. How can you not see that? This show is a bit stupid but the retarded rubbish that pass for critique in these threads is a whole other level of failed brain processing. I love your style, friend |

Isn't that also the case for many, MANY, light novel adaptations? At least this one seems to be well made. Perhaps I'm missing something, after all, I've never watch AoT even though I heard it was pretty good. jose21 said: WTF is up with the kabanes??? Just like somebody mentioned in another discussion they are pretty inconsistent and behave however fits better the scene; sometimes they are slow like classic zombies of old movies, sometimes they are fast like the zombies of world war Z, and on this episode there is even a samurai zombie which was pretty cool btw funny how he was quite agile with both arms even though it looked like his left shoulder was out of place. I guess it's something like how the zombies from Gakkō Gurashi! and how they retained perceives of themselves even if it was to set up the ass pull plot armor with bonus sentimentalism. But, the premise of one retaining their former selves no matter how far they have fallen is quite old. Take Darth Vader snap decision, many characters from the Magi series who fell into depravity or even the Yu-gi-oh, and many others who resisted corruption, hypnotism, or simply retained their skills learned in the former life. Someone who mastered an art of combat taught as a second nature and then being put in a similar nature (combating as an undead in order to feed) makes some level of sense, with a tinge of suspension of disbelief. |

@Darklight0303 I've gotta say, I admire you for always defending this series against the somewhat surprising number of haters. Kudos! :D The thing about this series is, since it's so fast paced, there isn't time to clearly explain everything through dialogue, even if the writers wanted to (which wouldn't be a good way of storytelling). I read complaints about Ikoma thinking of saving everyone instead of hurrying to do so this episode, but really...he is hurrying, it's just that he's having a lot of trouble moving quickly and keeping hold of his mental state because his hunger is killing him. I can ignore the haters, but it's really annoying me how determined some of them are to spread the hate. Nearly all of their points are plain stupid. OHH, THIS IS SO INCONSISTENT, IT'S TERRIBLE! ....No. First off, this is an anime. It's meant to be enjoyed without thinking too much about how "realistic" it is. Secondly, the art, animation, music, direction, and characters are all awesome enough that even if the plot didn't make sense, it still wouldn't be close to a bad show in my eyes. Everyone has a different opinion and that's fine, but I find most of the complaints silly. |

My complain for this was the lack of a sexualized zombie bite between Ikoma and Ayame. But then again it may make sense since the virus could transfer to her. But then again if they've kept the virus from reaching the brain would good would blood do if received orally? [/fridgelogic] |

The attack of the Kabanes came at the right time to avoid complications for Mumei and Ikoma, and besides, even allowed them showed everyone how strong and timely is to keep them on the train, by the way only a little blood was enough to Ikoma to control, but the scene between him and Ayame was very good, as well as the fight scenes in this episode, I am increasingly excited about this anime .. |

Isn't Kurusu a bit too tough? I mean, he got a katana all the way through his belly... and then he rushes the Wazatori a moment later... and then walks around like nothing has happened? It's just one thing that kinda bothers me. You can't just wrap a bandage around a wound like that and forget about it. |

This felt like a better episode- although maybe this was because we finally said goodbye to the people arguing over kaberni vs kabane lmfao. Am I the only one who got a little tired during some of the dialogue? Ikoma crawling over the train car like "i(grunt)...need(grunt)...to...(grunt) save(grunt)....them....(grunt)." Ignoring some of the dramatic(and corny) nature of the lines, I have to say, Ayame is really growing on me. I'm glad to see her doing all she can to take control, even though she's rightfully scared. She could have let the Bushi, her Samurai, and the elders take care of it, but instead she charged right into battle, and fought on the front lines with everyone else. Her offering her blood as a contract and her ability to rally the people shows promising signs of a strong leader that I hope are acted upon (instead of Ikoma developing a bigger hero complex than he already has and saving her over and over, destroying all of her power and agency lol) As to the different types of Kabane, I'm actually glad that they are giving some diversity to the monsters, since if they were all around the same difficulty level, Ikoma, Mumei, and whoever else fighting would eventually grow and become OP. Not sure how many episodes are left (i'm hoping more than 12), but I hope they include a large variety in monsters, otherwise watching fight scenes will get boring very fast. Speaking of fight scenes, I really did like the movement and animation, even if it was pretty short, since Ikoma ended the battle quickly. Hopefully he will face stronger opponents in the future. My biggest fear for this anime is that it will end up having only 12 episodes and they will rush the plot, otherwise I don't think it's getting on so terribly. 4/5 |

This was basically established in episode 1 when Ikoma got bit without really noticing at first, even though a small chunk of his flesh was gone. If the writers wanted it to be more like real life then there would be a ton more screaming, a ton more bleeding, and the plot wouldn't work as well. |

There is enough room in between ignoring logic (i.e. u get stabbed in the stomach, u don't bounce back quickly) and gratuitous displays of violence/torture porn. I think it hurts the plot more to ignore people actually being in pain, since it detracts from the gruesome nature of the universe. Although this hasn't headed towards grimdark territory just yet, the situations the characters are in when it comes to the Kabane aren't supposed to be taken lightly. I can't say why people recover so quickly though, Kurusu really should be bed ridden after being stabbed in the stomach like that. The sword went all the way through him. When it comes to Ikoma getting bit, sometimes people don't notice things when their adrenaline is rushing. He was probably panicking, and by the time he became a Kabaneri he no longer felt pain in the same way others did. But getting some flesh ripped off vs getting stabbed all the way through in the stomach...idk... Just my opinion on this. |

Kurusu wasn't totally useless for a change. But I think he's partially responsible for the unrest, because of him antagonizing the Kabaneri. And abandoning the people, who are most efficient against the monsters, is always a good idea. I thought the whole SnK copy thing was explained enough, but some people don't seem to learn/prefer to remain ignorant. BTW on another site someone asked, what happens, if a blood donor for Ikoma or Mumei has AIDS. Some people still seem to think, that it's possible to get infected through swallowing blood. |

HOLY shit that Kabane who can fight and fought with dual samurai is so freaking BA AF!!! just gonna be honest, Kabane from this episode were looking cool especially that slo mo scene before the train went into the tunnel. that was freaking cool imo. DAT intro tho xD i expected that. obvious. if he bite her, she would turn into Kabane. so, to feed them, they need to suck instead bite. i thought something fucked up was going to happen but either way i like it alot. as usual the soundtrack was amazing in the action scene. IMO, this is the best episode so far. now finally everyone accept Ikoma and Mumei. and btw, Kurusu was amazing too in this episode. really like the action in this episode. looking foward for the next episode :D ROKKON SHOJO!!!~~~ Edit: i can see arguements every week in this forum or more like bad talking this series and they keep watching this series.....my god! i wonder when it will stop. *grabs popcorn* |

Another is using a word wrong believing he or she is using it right to make yourself look intelligent. And another wrong is attention craving. Even if it's not by a lot, the people in this show DEFINITELY feel less pain than a real life person. The first guy bit in the first episode acted like he wasn't even aware that blood was flowing out of his hand (with the bone exposed and everything)! She just magically vanished. They did show her getting on the train, but she literally hasn't made an appearance after that. She didn't even get an appearance when they stopped the train or anything. She got on and is completely MIA now. She's also not shown in the OP with the main cast at all so I guess she's not a side character...which is weird since she's also a Kabaneri and she closely resembles Ikoma's sister. You'd think she'd have much more relevance. Did you seriously not recognize her when she changed clothes? I did recognize her, I was answering Jonesy's question. ah looks like some kind of mistake is here, meant that question to Jonesy.. wonder why it became like that? A pretty good episode if we ignore how stupidly moronic those Kabaneri haters were. Mumei and Ikoma doing a good job and finally getting some appreciation. |

The guy clearly doesn't trust Ayame, so why would he listen to her? The repairs on the train we're finished so I think he may have also been worried about the water tank problem. The train may have not had any serious problems if only the people in the back didn't try to disconnect the last car. Yes, those people are stupid. However, having stupid characters in a show isn't always bad. Most of them are dead now, after you've been given a good chance to hate them last episode. They were actually a great plot device to fuel an exciting battle and help the kabaneri be accepted. |

I keep screaming a the name of a 13th century Chinese invention known as gunpowder when ever I watch this. It's clear they have it. It's also clearly shown it's potency when those gunpowder barrels exploded destroying layers of metal. While their pressurized steam sued to power the train doesn't even bust the boilers. Oh well, anime. And steampunk so it gotta be. |

Not perfect but better than the last. The Kabaneri haters are so annoying, finally, they saw some reason. 3/5 |

Uhm, because she's the shogun heir and they're... KIND OF... supposed to obey or at least listen to her?Even if they don't really trust her it doesn't make sense that they would ditch her completely AND choose to just hastily go through the risks of taking the shorter route. That's just sharing infomation. Another thing is overthinking an issue and make it look like it's worse than it actually is. Another is using a word wrong believing he or she is using it right to make yourself look intelligent. And another wrong is attention craving. This is a discussion thread, yet some people see it as a fishing pond, and has the hypocrisy to say he or she is discussing. But nonetheless, let the hate comments come. They are mostly frustrated. Just accept it is valid, because this show is an action flick and nothing else, which is a shame when the medium has been lacking interesting excecutions in the story department. Just because the medium has been mediocre in that aspect doesn't means we shouldn't expect good things from it. I got my AOTY already. either way, i don't care about this thread anymore LOL. after i posted my opinion on this forum, i was searching some post with some information, seaching for other's people opinion about this episode. what looks wrong and what looks good about this episode to them. but just scrolled a little bit and i already saw an arguement that i don't even want to see. then i'm like "fuck this shit, i'm out!" better see some anime reviewer in youtube xD even if they hate/dislike the series or the episode but they still consider the other people who likes the anime. |

Phoebe3315 said: I still stand by my claim. Even if it's not by a lot, the people in this show DEFINITELY feel less pain than a real life person. The first guy bit in the first episode acted like he wasn't even aware that blood was flowing out of his hand (with the bone exposed and everything)! If you blame that on adrenaline too, then surely Kurusu managed to get up and defend Ayame-sama with his life because of adrenaline as well. I don't disagree with you saying that people feel less in this show. I don't think it makes the anime better to ignore obvious things that should wound someone, especially being stabbed all the way through. Then again it could be possible there is more suffering to come, but I don't think it improves the show for everyone to no longer feel pain. I don't really care if they don't show a visible reaction, since they've all been through so much violence already, it's more so ignoring the fact that the body needs time to heal. I still think Kurusu should have been down for the count for a little longer. He could have been, and someone else could have sacrificed their life OR at least held onto the sword carrying kabane. The show has no problem sacrificing minor characters. I don't see the problem with giving his body time to heal. I can ignore other parts where people are injured and don't really react but I kind of feel like it's starting to get a little lazy in this instance. |

Damn fine episode - 4.5/5 from me. I really liked how they introduced new threat in the form of wazatoris. They seem to be able to get pretty strong and I knew that sooner or later they'd have to bring in some tougher opponents in order to keep things suspenseful since regular kabane (unlike titans in SnK; yeah, yeah, comparisons...) can actually be beaten relatively easily by humans who only have military training. Now I'm pretty excited to see if there are gonna be wazatoris that are capable of speech or at least show higher level of intelligence... well, I guess next episode is gonna have Mumei explaining more about this new threat. Also Ayume and her guards were pretty cool. Really, my only gripe with this episode is how quickly Ikoma has beaten that dual wielding wazatori... I mean it's cool to know that he's getting stronger, but I feel like they could've saved the fight for the next episode and make it a bit longer... still I'm pretty content with how everyone accepted Ikoma and Mumei in the end. And yeah, those 3D scenes... pure gold. |

A plot device is so obvious and terrible that it creates a plothole is anything but greatAyame wasn't ordering them or anything. She was simply telling them it was more dangerous than the long way there. The other way could've had a bad kabane attack as well, and since the water supply (not to mention the food supply) is a problem, there are pros and cons with each route. Taking a gamble sometimes IS necessary and CAN pay off. I don't care how much you dislike the fact that the kabaneri haters tried to disconnect the last car and got the whole train in trouble. Given their characters, it makes sense, and you're in the minority if you think the episode would have been better had that not happened. |
