A system of Individual Quality wouldn't replace Social Quality (It has value and we're social animals after-all) but it should trump (no pun intended) or overrule social quality. |

I used to watch them every day on YouTube. But about 2 years ago or so....it became nothing but race baiting, always blaming white people, always pandering to women, muslims, and minorities without any fucking evidence. I think the nail on the coffin was when I saw the Sam Harris interview, at that point, I was done with TYT. SJWs are now being called the Regressive Left because that's the path they're heading in. Males and Females ARE equal in America and the first world....when you say and support women having MORE rights than men....you are NOT progressing. | Not too worried about it, it is a fad, they may be loud but people are growing tired of them already. I think online sources (both for and against them) give them too much attention however, and create this false reality where people actually think there are lot of them. "They have invaded campus" because you see a group of 30 protesting something unbelievably stupid? 30 out of 5,000+? That is "a lot"? As for this idea that it is "polarizing the left and right", that is probably true to some extent, however if your beliefs are so weak that you will change them because you don't want to be lumped with someone else, then they couldn't have been that strong to begin with. The real shame in America is that we don't have a Sexist problem, we hardly have a racist problem (although we do, it is just very minor) however we DO have a socioeconomic problem. And because this disproportionately affects certain races (which ironically was due to slavery followed by racism) people still attribute it to racism. The problem is that this isn't the problem, address the actual problem if you want a solution. The reason why you never see this mentioned in colleges is because those stuck in a vicious cycle of poverty don't go to college in the first place. The people in colleges are almost entirely middle class, they don't experience racism, they just believe that it exists, and that somehow it applies to them too. They so badly want to be a victim they apply the problems their race faces in disproportionate numbers due to poverty as being something they face too. It is honestly disgusting, they are selling out others just to gain some type of pity. Meanwhile, they then go on to tell these people stuck in a dead-end community, where for the last 10+ generations not one of them has gone to college, that their problem is racism, and its okay because the one telling them this has beaten the system and will help them. Meanwhile, the person who has "beaten the system" has just been like every other middle class individual and gone to college, big deal. |

But the U.S has made incredible strides from where it was in the 1950s and beyond. I truly believe that if people work hard, they have a chance to succeed. That isn't to say that if you grow up in "da hood" you're going to be president of the United States. But how about fighting to get good grades so you can get a scholarship and go to a good school? How about saying NO to bad influences and staying focus on a single goal? I've been VERY critical of American police....you can look up my threads on Cops on what I think of them. | It's incredible how far regressed the "equality" movement is when comapared to the past when Martin Luther King said: "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' " What about today? Organisations like "Black Lives Matter"? Are they in ANY WAY trying to go into this direction where equality is the "default" state and that racism is the "exception"? I don't see it. Nothing but complains, nothing but blaming others. Nothing but trying to get attention. No solutions offered whatsoever. Only trying to destroy and destroy, while saying that others destroy. Well with that said the example of BLM I picked here may be a little inapprotiate and unrepresentive, since they are political protesting mercenaries disguised as civil right activists. But you just have to look at the news: skin color is still being used as a "demographic" in the political field... yet for some reason no one calls them out for racism/apartheid... Some people even claim that the phrase "All Lives Matter", which perfectly embodies Martin Luther King's speech, is "racist". |

There are instances of Sexism in America, both towards men and women, however this is not a "rampant" issue, it is not common, and it is not approved of by American culture. African-Americans are more likely to be killed than Whites in America by a police officer, however they are also more likely to be in the lower middle or lower economic classes. 95% of police fatalities occur in this economic range. While there are very clear instances of racism, and racism is a problem within certain communities of America, the vast majority of police fatalities are simply poorly trained cops in over their league operating in regions of the US where violent crime is more prevalent. As such, they are on edge, and typically are more prone to police brutality, including killing suspects. The current situation is a result of racism, however is not racism itself. Even if you magically cured racism, since this would do absolutely nothing to raise African-Americans out of primarily being in the lower economic classes, and this is the area where more crime is, cops will still be more likely to kill African-Americans than whites. Do not conflate racism with socio-economic problems, you will NEVER fix the situation and just fuck over those that actually need help due to ignorance or self-interest. What do I mean by self-interest? Programs like Affirmative Action, are programs that is misused by minorities already in the middle / upper class. Socioeconomic class is not factored into affirmative action. The premise of it is also flawed from the beginning, unlike popular opinion, not all primary education is equal, those who grow up in an environment (regardless of race) where crime is glorified, where going to school is "stupid", where unemployment is low, where joining gangs is "cool", will undoubtedly be less likely to not only attend college, but be at an adequate level should they get in. This does a disservice to the student, who is now out of his / her league and wasting his / her time, as well as to where they are truly being failed (primary education). Blacks are harassed and killed by police, so are latinos, so are whites, so are Asians. Again, even of the high profile police killings between a white cop and a black civilian, you will not that the only mention of "racism" is that it was a white cop that killed the back man. That does not inherently equal racism. However more to the point, to call this "rampant" is dishonest. I'm sorry, but it is nowhere near "rampant", hence why it gets national media attention when it happens. If something is an "everyday occurrence" you can count on the media not to report it every time it happens. Just as a side note, I do agree there is still racism in America, and a large amount towards African-Americans, however REGION matters. And "Blacks" is not a single unit, we live in an individualist nation, just because a black person in Ferguson gets harassed for his skin color, that does not mean that a black man in San Francisco has also grown up in the same conditions. Whereas, with almost certainty, I can guarantee you that a child who grew up living with a single parent who was living paycheck to paycheck worried significantly more about getting a proper meal than a child who grew up in a mansion. |
