there is one thing I really hope this adaptation includes: "one episode where all the girls let out or foster a little animosity against Yuki. Because she can live such a careless life, while all the others have to actually deal with reality.

Miki looks like she feels the same way as you.

a post apocalyptic world... with running water and electricity? OK, sure...

Other than that, another interesting episode. The MC is kind of annoying, but I feel bad for her in that library scene. I'm still waiting for an explanation on why this all happened.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

The girl with the shovel got the main focus in this episode and I must say that out of all of the characters so far, her story interests me the most

The dark themes in this show are really captivating and seeing the psychological damage that not only the MC, but the other girls have is quite the sight to see

I've been wondering this all episode but I'm not sure if Megu-nee is an illusion or not....I hope that she isn't though

Original ending? It would be really stupid, if they follow the manga up to chapter 30 it is a more than a open ending for a second season.
I think that they'll skip a bit of material around chapter 13-16 because Miki in the anime appeared in the first episode so...

This is honestly about as good as I could have hoped for for a starting two episodes. Minor QUALITY aside, they've done a fantastic job with the reveal and with character exposition so far.

I doubt it will keep up to this standard of writing for the full series, but there's hope.

Lol, i can see that you don't know nothing about the manga, the first 3 episodes are just the introduction (oh well, shit starts to get real in the next episode honestly).

Yuki is getting on my nerves. She should get her shit together and realize the danger she might bring to them when she keeps acting that way -__- Also, including gore scenes might make this better, imo.

I will try to not go in detail so I will just say something that was said in the manga: "Yuki is doing her best on her own way" There are some other stuff but take into mind that Yuki is quite important for the group and that will become more apparent as episode goes on.

And no, this is a psychological anime so it focus more on the state of mind of the main characters, there won't be lot of action and when zombie die it's mostly off camera so I don't think there will be gore.

Hmm alright. She's just too annoying so I'm enjoying the show less that I should have.

A little gore wouldn't hurt tho >_>

The manga is not completly absent of gore (they cut off in the anime a bit of blood, maybe in the BD bonus frame).

I read the manga a year or two ago and what I had seen so far was good, but the story hadn't really gone anywhere, so I have doubts that the series will know how to avoid stagnating after the various character backgrounds have been established and the first few scares have happened.

Might that being a reason why Lerche put Miki at the very first episode and putting a dog in it (new directions)? Just sayin tho..., since I read the manga too.

I really like that decision tbh. Miki is the most easy character for many people to empathise with (with her disapproval of other people enabling Yuki's delusions) so having her there immediately is a nice touch. They'll surely cover Miki's story in a flashback so we still have that to look forward too as well.
I thought the dog was in the manga too?

Agreed. I just don't want Lerche do the same thing as the "others" do

As for the dog: it's a nice touch, though there was no dogs in the manga as I can remember (CMIIW).

school store/bar, where to buy food during lesson breaks, it's pretty common even in western countries
... ok, the bar is common, a store with more than just food, like gardening tools or buckets, is not common at all to be into schools...
rethinking about it, it is a bit strange/convenient indeed

This is the scariest anime I have ever watched. What makes it so scary is, how normally it is a SOL but then there's this suspense/horror side to it which gives me chills. Can't wait to see how executes, so far it is amazing.

I do hope they ADD to the group rather then...you know... subtract.

BUT HOLY SHIT THE SUSPENSE! MC's delusions really add to the feeling of terror and anxiety when watching this. It's REALLY well done, i'm impressed.

I loved all the subtle hints in episode 1 that things weren't right. And they kinda continue that here.

Consider be cautious with your words.

Well, seeing all those elements used for the opening, the mall chapters will definitely be animated. My worry came from the presence of Miki and Taroumaru in the first episode. It could easily be explained without changing the original story too much. Comparing it to the manga, they are following the story accordingly.

Then, I wonder if they expected the anime to be a big hit, or they decided to give it only one season and wrap it up at the end to be on the safe side. I don't really follow the production of a series, so i'm sorta lost there.

It seems logical to follow the story up to chapter 30 indeed, but then they will have to wait a lot for the new manga arc to end?

I hope that either:
-They wrap it up in 12 episodes with some sort of kickass ending.
-They've had contact with the author of the manga and the author of the manga has their own fantastic plans on how to keep the series going for another season before wrapping it up.

The worst thing that could happen is that this turns into another perpetually unfinished cash-cow drama-with-token-zombie-in-each-episode yawn-fest like The Walking Dead.

but then they will no longer have a manga to wait for to animate in the future because they stupidly ended the story in just 12eps.

A part of me have already given up that this will be a decent adaptation though. The destruction of their surroundings are too much that should have been toned down but no, change things that doesn't need changing, don't change things that needs changing.

Ehh...happened with Kuroshitsuji and even Full Metal Alchemist. And don't forget the Ao no Exorcist anime ending. It can happen, but so far it seems safe to assume they will follow the manga.

Apparently Mii kun's character was farily popular so they decided to place her in the beggining of the anime. Taroumaru is cute, but not sure if it was popular, since lots of manga readers who are posting here don't seem to remember him. But well, it is said that a pet is a very important part of any story, so...

I like the anime so far. Those extra details that weren't in the manga help to visualize better the development of the character's personalities.

maybe it wasn't a zombie, but a victim who died before becoming one, maybe someone they expecially cared about
but yeah, having graves where you grow food doesn't look very ... tasty ._.

but given they couldn't go outside to build a grave for that dead person, the only place they had to bury them was in the gardening grounds

Re-read again, it's on chapter 2.

Anyway, pretty good episode. They adapted the manga well, adding a bit additional scenes here and there (love the Umaibo scene!). Nice touch with the OP too. Maybe it'll get darker every episode. If they stay true with the adaptation, it'll definitely one of the contender for AOTS.

Glad to see the manga sells well too, gonna buy it once it's getting localized in my country.
