I liked the pace of this episode. I'm liking Adlet a lot. He is not the stupid and indecisive MC we see all the time.

I don't trust Godolf and i think he is just trying to frame Fremy.
I despise woke people.

Adlet looks much calmer in this episode. He's badass in his own way. I really like his mixed fighting style. So unpredictable!

Dat cliffhanger! Aww I thought Godolf is gonna be one cool character from the OP... He's just another princess' dog? I hope not, though.

Don't ask for that here. It isn't allowed to discuss of things further away in the plot than the current episode. Talking about content that was left out is one thing, talking about something happening afterwards even in the source material is another, that's not allowed in that type of thread.

I freacking love Fremy already she is badass. She had a nice way to enter this anime. I mean that was her time to shine. And she fuckign took it.

I'm not too comfortable with the 3D models though, maybe I'll need to get used to it. But the 2D/3D mixture collide good, so it's acceptable.

I also really like the chemistry between Adlet and Nashetania, their relation is smoothly getting better with the day. Which I'm able to understand since they spent so much time together and have to protect each other.

Overall it was a good episode. I'm really liking it.

I do not mind the slower pice, quite the opposite,I like it.

Animation quality dropped compared to the 1st episode, still good nonetheless.

The music is nice,it fits well and I liked the string track this episode.

Seems like this is an anime where Zefyris will help us with information from time to time.

Anyway, Nashetania and Adlet did well for their first fight together.
Fremy and Goldof appear and I doubt Fremy's the Brave-killer.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

I don't think I'll be needed really, they are doing a good job at it . The adaptation is currently like 3 to 5 times slower than danmachi, so obviously the amount of missing necessary information at this rate will be minimal.

Nice episode.

OP and ED fit this series well I think. CGI monsters didn't bother me as much as i expected which was nice.

Somehow doubt that Fremy is a brave killer, let's see next week!

I'm going to say it's Goldof, he's very devoted to the princess so I've no doubt he'd kill potential Rokka just so to avoid certain harm to her etc. Also next episode when he finds out Adlet being traveling with her, so maybe Adlet vs Goldof next ep. Them devoted types are always scary.....

The fewer people eligible to be a hero, the higher the chance Nash has to be selected to go fight the demon king (and be put in harm's way).

The fewer people fighting the demon king, the greater the chance that a well-aimed fireball flies at Nashetania (and suffer the harm in whose way she has been put).

Goldof seems like a reasonable choice for the killer, as things currently stand, but the motive you ascribe is fatally flawed. It's bound to be something simpler like "I wanted to show off in front of the princess, so I killed everyone who might get chosen ahead of us" and then "I wanted to be sure one of us delivered the deathblow, so I killed off the other heroes so we'd get all the glory/I'd become a noble and be able to marry her/whatever"

Nice episode. First part was a bit slow but I'm fine with that because we get to see how Adlet and Nashetania are getting along.

If I were Nashetania, I would totally be the same way before my first fight. I know it's not much but I like how they added her wiping her palms on her clothes. Really makes her character more realistic...despite the fact that she has bunny ears...

Fiends aren't bad, at least the cgi isn't terrible

Whoa a brave is the brave killer? Need explanation plz

Saw the huge metal thing he was bringing to his horse at the very beginning of episode two? it's full of ingredients and already made weapons. and his three belts with lots of pouch are the same. And he learned how to create them as well, that's part of his training.

Yeah, I get it man. But it's only like 6x8, small enough(and light enough) to carry on horseback. The thing isn't a bag of holding(as far as I know), so you run into an area where you really have to just swallow that this guy who would be burning through consumables like crazy has enough to last the entire conflict in one go. It's a tough sell to me, personally, if they don't show me him macguyvering some stuff together from scavenging/whatever scraps are left. Someone who is clever enough to have poisoned caltrops in his sword blade should be clever enough to make do.

Those bunny ears are an ear decoration you know, she doesn't really have bunny ears... Having animal decoration on the head is a tradition in the pienna royal family and everyone from the family or close to it have that type of decoration. It's not the only case animal ears are being used, but those uses it all the time.

For example, Goldof that you saw in this episode. He's a personal royal guard for the princess. His helms have animal horns. That's the same reason, this helm was given by the royal family after all.

HE can make poison, that's for sure. Now, bear in mind that anime loves to xxagerate things in action scene so the anime may actually be showing him using bigger things or things in more number than in the novel, bringing the question about how did he had all of this with him. Like that amount of darts he launched and the ridiculous number of smoke bomb he used in one fight at the beginning.

More like, tradition. Look at the number of character with animal/plant symbols in this show.
Those warriors at the tournament (jaguar, eagle or something like that...) . Nashetania has both bunny ears AND animal like armor for her legs and arms part. Chamo in the opening has a frog costume. Hans' appearance reminds of a cat (especially the novels illustrations). Fremy has a flower. Goldof has sheep's horns on the side of his helmet. And so on.
This is traditional in that verse, that's pretty obvious.

To add from show perspective, since a lot of aesthetics are based on Aztec and Mayan cultures, high ranked Aztec warriors would usually use animal or flower mottifs in their clothes.

In fact there were whole ranks in Aztec military known as Jaguar Warriors, Eagle Warriors, etc and the abundance of motiff was connected to the overall ranking and standing.

Then again most viewers most likely have no idea what Aztecs were becauseI see gems like "oh nice, they are using egyptian setting with pyramids" floating around.

Hmm, from what you told, it makes even more sense now.
It's frustrating when some animal ears character appears, and people just jump to prejudice claiming it's just to appeal the watchers.

I thought that all of them will met in first episode. I'm most interested what will happen when they notice that they are 7 people instead of 6 ;p, but it seams that they will introduce them slowly, its strange because its only 12 episode anime.

I imagine this as 1-2 episode of characters introduction and 10 episodes of fighting evil but it seems it will be backwards ;p, maybe it will be better that way :).

That was actually unclear from the context of the show. In the first episode when we saw her "earless", she was wearing a hairband right at the point her ears would be if she folded them back.

With 700 some odd posts, you should know anime better than that. It's going to be 4 episodes of introductions, 6 episodes of filler/fan-service, and then 2 episodes of fighting evil.

I like that they go for a slow pacing, if the show keeps up with its quality I wouldn't mind a second cour (even if it's split).
It seems pretty obvious that Fremy isn't the killer, or at least we won't get to know it in the next few episodes even though the cliffhanger suggests it. I mean, just have to read the synopsis^^

It's been pointed out already, but with the aztec/mayan style those animal clothings (bunny ears) aren't too far fetched. That aside, if you ask me the bunny ears are clearly there just to make her look cute and appealing to otaku or whatever even if they are explained in the universe. I for myself don't have a particular problem with them when they have a reason in verse, although they do remind me of the bunny hood from LoZ: Majora's Mask xD

I'd say it's going to be done by the end of episode 4. There's a lot of info to give so it takes time and they are taking it. I really doubt it's going in episode 3, especially seeing the title of that episode.

No filler/fanservice in this anime. They are clearly respecting the original material more than any novel adaptation I've seen those last 5 years. From this you can be sure there won't be at all. The only fan-servicy thing in Rokka is the outfit of some heroes (both male and female btw).

That was nice! One of my favourites this season. I like Adlet and Nashetania and those new two characters seem interesting (and dangerous). That was somewhat of a cliffhanger but I'm sure it's just a missunderstanding to let us fear for Adlet's sake. Btw...I'm going to pretend she really has bunny ears. I don't care xD

Depending on the pace of the 3rd episode, it will mean either that they adapt only one volume or two volumes.
It will reach the end of the 1st volume. You'll know things you want to know, you'll wonder about things that you won't know. That's a satisfying place to end.
If it reach the end of the second volume, that's a satisfying place to end as well.
Meaning, it's not in the middle of an arc, the mystery asked is solved by the end of each volume in volume 1 to 3 so any of those is a okay place. Now, obviously, you won't get a conclusion to the story. There are 6 volumes out and it's not finished.
So if you want the end in anime, better pray for a separated 2 nd cour and anime sequels. It would be wonderful if they were to do it, but will they do it, that's another question.

Just imagine if they continue to adapt the other volumes in following cours? Pretty improbable but, that'd be like, the dream as far as this adaptation can be x).
Also, interesting enough, they announced since a while that there is two opening and 3 ending. While not impossible, that's a lot for a single cour, and a lot for a single volume adapted.
We don't know yet who will sing the second opening, but we know that Nashetania's seiyuu will sing the second ending and fremy's seiyuu the third one.

So, a split cour with a second volume? or the second volume will be adapted in the first cour? Either way, this news gives hope about a second volume being adapted. Or maybe they're going to change both opening and ending after they all joined and make a last ending in the 12th episode. But I would say, then that's weird since the first opening shows all the characters and not only the 4 we already see here. This logically should mean that they aren't changing in the middle of that volume, so that's for the second one?

Now that I'm thinking about it, while adlet has a very different personality from our usual witcher, he's closer of a witcher type than any other character in anime I can think of. Interesting comparison indeed. He doesn't have magic signs, although he can still breath fire with his system ^^".

the art, the scenery and the character models are incredibly gorgeous. the premise is interesting enough I guess. But I cannot believe what passes characterization around here. Literally, the first 15 minutes of this episode was just fucking exposition. It would've been better served SHOWING us what happened in their pasts, NOT just infodumping a bunch of stories that was supposed to form the basis of their characters. Instead, what you have are a bunch of incredibly bland characters TELLING you what their personalities and motivations are supposed to be, instead of SHOWING you, or letting the viewer discern for themselves.
