Just because Kirito happened to be a strong player in SAO doesn't mean he's qualified to act as a detective for the government.

But then again if I consider we're talking about Kirito, who's an amazing solo player, a super hacker, and a total chick magnet, then it's possible he's also a master detective.

Say, do you think he knows how to perform open-heart surgery too?

It wasn't a coincidence that he became a strong player in SAO. He isn't a master detective/doctor/w/e as he is just gonna go there and get some impressions. Anyone could do that. But he is very experienced in VR compared to agents that has hasn't been playing it for 3+ years. So there is no reason for them to not use Kirito as a resource and I don't see why they should hire expensive agents for something that has 90% chance to be a coincidence/hoax.

Sure, but I don't really see what Kirito could find in the game that would help the government. And I don't think if the people at Zaskar had any brains they would be leaving any clues for anyone to find in the first place.

Like what was said earlier, multiple times, he is only going there because he's a high level player, in order to get close to another possibly high level player, who could possibly be responsible for mysterious recent deaths. They're not even expecting him to reveal anything, he's sent there just in case.

I should perhaps post some screenshots as to why Kikouka wants Kirito to go in GGO.

Like what everyone else said, Kirito is sent out only to get in contact with Death Gun, they don't expect him to take him down or anything else of that sort. And the more experienced the player is, the higher chance of them encountering Death Gun.

Thank you for your answer that, I don't know how, some people didn't notice (in the episode) before they started their stupid argument.

I don't think there was an official announcement but we may get Mother Rosairo arc too not just GGO (since 24 episodes is apparently too much for GGO).

Pretty boring, the new designs look goofy, generally the visuals were so bad, the CGI looked terrible, the animation was shit and the music also couldn't deliver.

It's like SAO minus the budget, so basically even worse.

Nice episode tho i'm not that fond with the OP and ED. While cheesy I love the romance between Kirito and Asuna.
And it's a good thing that they stay true to the LN too.

Cool beginning: I liked how it actually gave us a lot of info of why Kirito should go to GGO and what to do and stuff, so far so good. :3

The romance between Asuna and Kirito though~! x3 So cute.....it's too bad Asuna isn't going to be that big of a main character though.....

GGO huh....sounds cool, looks cool, and Death Gun....whoa. o-o
Good second season so far. :P

I found the episode quite good. I like the conversation on the future of technology between Asuna and Kirito, gives the show a more realistic tone.

Letting Kirito do some detective work in a new game seems interesting. Although I find it weird why would the government hire a student?

As a stand alone I never thought that SAO was amazing, I thought it was a decent watch, but having read the LN first thats probably why. Sucker was rushed like crazy and now is being milked. It should have been just the opposite. GGO could be done in 13 episodes and still tell a decent story. Aincrad, NEEDED a full 24 episodes to flesh it out properly.

Thats assuming they added author original content to fill the gap areas.

It makes me slightly sad to see a series with ALOT of potential be average. Hopefully GGO is done well.

GGO is supposed to be 12-13. The rest will be filled with MR, Caliber and SSs.

"Death Gun" looks like a joke. Was that supposed to be serious? Or is he just trolling?

Slow opening Kirito x Asuna scenes are slow.

Lol people in restaurant getting mad at talking about corpses.

Again... ep was so slow. Oh well... I can live with it. Good things to come.

I only watched roughly the 1st half of the first season. Do you think it's ok to start watching this and skip the second half, or should i finish the 1st season first?
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.

ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

it could work but there might be some details that you might miss. I'd suggest trying the movie that is basically a recap of the season.

Because "the seed" is basically SAO's OS(if you could call it that)
GGO was compiled using the seed. And Kirito acquires the photon blade so there STILL will be swords, with sword art, in an online game...

Same way XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 are all Windows.

Also, link that Botato posted.

I dont know if it's because it's been so long since I've watched the first season, but I was kinda thinking what's going on for a good part of the show lol.. It's kind of confusing, and kind of boring too, but I don't hate it... Like SAO season 1 I have the neutral feeling towards it, so far that is... unless they'll be able to make it an interesting one..

It was a pretty good episode. Being an absolute huge fan of the first season, I am impressed of what has been shown thus far. So this guy named Death Gun is going around shooting other players, which seems to also kill them in real life as well, just like in season 1. They want Kirito to go into GGO and take the guy out. Hopefully next episode is great too!

Why does Kirito think that killing a player in real life via a virtual game is impossible? Wasn't the SAO incident something similar-- players dying in real life when they die in the game? So then, why does Kirito react to the news regarding GGO players dying in real life as if something like that is totally unheard of while he himself is a living witness to a very similar situation?

Because in this case, the game(GGO) somehow kills you by giving you a heart attack, rather than the NerveGear frying your brain.

Seeing Kirito and Asuna togheter again was sweet with the location they met at as well with tour guidance
It would have been another show if Kirito replied: "No way, I'm going to make a romcom with Asuna instead" after the "go get shot" comment to the offered job
