Beside the visuals, what was it so improved to make it decent? It's pretty much identical to how the manga started. Don't see your point here.

Watching Niseikoi in Bake-shaft style is a little......arkward. Oh well, I'll probably get used to it soon.

So the manga is still ongoing with almost no plot advances... wonder how the anime will handle the stuff near the end.

This just feels like a really average wacky romcom run through the same old Shaft filter. Its kind of watchable compared to a lot of stuff this season but far from anything remotely approaching what I'd consider good let alone a masterpiece.

Like how all other ongoing manga anime adaptions go... open / cliffhanger ending with no clear cut resolution.

I basically just said that it became about 20% better due to the whacky animation.
The story and jokes are still pretty bad, but it's easy to take things seriously in Shaft's adaptation. Added nuances and character interactions made it much more enjoyable than reading the manga.

Not a bad first ep. There's potential for some good comedy here compared to some of the garbage that's come out this season. Shaft as always has some very nice background art and the VA's do a pretty decent job.

I already knew about the marriage thing as a kid from the summary but jeez, hearing it in anime itself just makes me mentally facepalm.

Chitoge flip. Twas expected for her to land on him. I guess that's a new way of eating bread and running to school and bumping into a guy.

Ah Shaft, how you love adding Kana Hanazawa to your cast.

Transfer student cliche/trope. Eh.

I'm finding the OST very fun.

Dat Sayonaro Zetsubo Sensei parody and dat head tilt. Oh Shaft you.

Fuck yea! ClariS ending song!

Overall, pretty cliche'd plot/story/characters but fuck who cares, SHAFT!

I'm surprised some people don't like what Shaft has done so far with this adaption.
I personally love what they brought to the series animation wise, it makes the series more enjoyable than the manga. I wonder how many episodes this will get and how many chapters it'll adapt.

Solely basing it on this episode, yes, it is following the manga pretty well. In fact, if you don't count the original one-shot, the manga pretty much started exactly the same way. Future will tell whether Shaft decided to remain faithful or diverge the story to something completely anime-original.

And also I expected Onedera's to be alittle bit more girlier than Chitoge's(To me I also imagined Onedera having a more higher pitched voice than Chitoge) But I guess my assumption was incorrect :3 Like the anime so far.

lol kinda wish I didn't read the manga in order to enjoy the moments more.. but happy with how its adapted so far, love art shaft and their classic comedic style.

Although with how dragged the manga is I hope shaft kinda diverges their own story/ending just abit later on in the series to make it more interesting.

So far so good<3

Awesome episode! A great start to the series. I didn't check the manga out, but I've heard alot about it and it seems to be pretty popular, so yeah, I have high hopes for this.
As expected, Shaft has done an amazing job animating this. I'm more or less a Shaft fanboy, so I was very happy to see they're working on this. I just can't get enough of their style.
Laughed hard at the end. He sure didn't see that coming, lol. Can't wait for the next episode.

my Saturdays are complete !

been following Nisekoi ever since it's one shot so i would be lying if i wasn't excited for this

thoughts my biggest worry was if Shaft would keep the art the same(lots of funny expressions to be seen!) and the length of it they have enough for 2 cour for now and more at least one of those has been put to rest :)

OST is nice love the claris op

VA is solid gonna take some time getting used to kaji yuki as shuu (funny hes playing another role as shuu lol )but Onodera and chitoge is perfect

can understand people finding Chitoge annoying early on but i gets better later on especially when the whole crew is together one call Marika has yet to come!

An interesting series, I was going to let this one go but decided on it last minute. The ending was one hell of a turn though, I sense a blood bath ensuing, but not between yakuza :p. Glad I watched Bakemonogatari before this, could appreciate the atmosphere and style a bit more. Seems like a fun ride, although with some of the threads/posts I've seen it's like people are making this out to be the second coming of Christ.

not sure how i feel about this show yet.

nisekoi was a really weird choice for a shaft adaption, unlike bake/madoka/szs, its a pretty straightforward run of the mill harem anime (if it follows its source material). i don't see much genre deconstruction/subversion going on or really any novel or postmodern storytelling devices. so the super stylized and impressionistic art (albeit toned down here) seems a little out of place so far. in monogatari for example it makes more sense because the stylized and surreal art is a deliberate reflection of an unreliable narrator telling a "story" (its even the damn title of the series). the whole shtick for the art direction in monogatari is that the story is being visually presented in the hyperbolic and overly dramatic way araragi (and later others) tells it, and not the way it literally happened (his normal human sister kicks him and sends him flying THROUGH an overpass demolishing it). its also part modern-fantasy so the surreal art fits better in that sense.

watching the first episode of nisekoi though it almost feels like i'm mixing two contrary flavors like mint and orange. both are good on their own but they mix in a really weird way. i'm not sure how this rom-com harem anime benefits from the psychedelic art treatment yet. maybe it'll turn out interesting. i can't say i have a lot of confidence in the source material. at the very least i guess it'll be interesting to look at.

That was a great first episode. Since I'm quite the Shaft fanboy I obviously really like their animation style and Nisekoi is no exception. The scene with Chitoge's first appearance was so cool and cute. xD Oh my gawd, Chitoge looks so cute. Nao Touyama is doing a pretty good job as Chitoge so far, a total tsundere. :D Onodera's voice is PERFECT, as expected of Kana Hanazawa. The last scene where they find out they have to be a fake couple for 3 years was pretty funny. xD I love the OP by ClariS. :DD The OST is also really good too, it really fits the scenes. I can't wait for more. :D
