| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Woooo it's finally out :DD First episode shows Red's first few experiences with catching pokemon, battle against Green and ends with battle against Brock/Takeshi. Red picks Charmander/Hitokage and obvs Green picked the counterpart. The BGM, opening, TMs, and Ending....this is really a nostalgia overload for those that played the original games omg ;D |

| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

| It was great to hear musing and some lines taken directly from the game. Red vs. Green battle was surprisingly brutal with Charmander/Hitokage screaming in pain. Too bad they decided to make Red a typical good-natured dumbass shounen protagonist. He's a player character, they could make him anything but decided to choose one of the lamest cliches. Green would make a better main hero, even though his kind of an ass. This and changing so many plot points with no reason was annoying to watch. Still, it would be nice to see that become a full fledged series. |

| It was a little weird having Red's voice be the same as Naruto (Since Junko voices them both) but this is a really cool Special. I wish it was at least twelve episodes like an actual series. XD |

| I loved how they kept most of the little things that stuck out in the game, like the names music, Red's intelligence of a 4-year old (You tell 'em youngster!), nameless NPCs, and generic creature statues in the gym. Too bad there were some inconsistencies, but I get why they did that, to cram it all in 4 eps; (like Pidgey knowing Gust right off the bat, as someone else has already mentioned). Finally, an anime that's not only loosely based on the games unlike that one with the midget, oh I'm sorry, "little person" that Ash is, whom also has a mental disorder that makes him think he's still 10, and everyone else just goes along with it. But only 4 episodes? That's so not enough... I hoped they'd featured more in at least a 12-tier season. Oh well...hopefully they do more for the other games as well. |
| Memorable things from Episode 1: - Charmander's ember doesn't come from it's mouth rather it uses it's tail. - Red actually catches Pokemon along the way even Rattata and Spearow. - Red tries to steal a trainers Nidoran, basic Pokemon 101 don't steal Pokemon from trainers. - METAPOD actually contributes to the win over Brock. Wow String Shot a move that would be useless to some people decides the outcome. - Oh and we finally see how a TM looks like. CD or floppy disk TM. |

| Instead of hurrying the whole story in four episodes, they could make a series out of it. In about 24 episodes, they could make out a pretty decent anime because the animation was very smooth and had the potential to outshine the main series (because c'mon, Production I.G.!). Many main parts are skipped (like the Viridian Forest, etc.) as though they intend to do the series in just 4 episodes. I guess The Pokémon Company should start investing in the game story anime instead of the lengthy 10-year old Ash series. Not to mention, Pokémon Chronicles was worthwhile. |
| I'm just so happy to have an anime where Ash isn't the main character, even if it's just 4 episodes. I'm also really happy that it looks like Red is actually GOING to 'catch'em all'. |
| Xd the battle music and he missed with his pokeball completely :p Wow that slide-back when they decided to battle :\ That bite attack and the screams so realistically cruel O_o Nurse Joy looks strange. Double kick was pretty sweet. Victory music and a TM after the win never seen a TM in an anime before. |
| Like everyone said, this would be perfect if only the pacing was slower and this was a full series instead of just a special. Otherwise, this is exactly all I've ever wanted ever since I was a little kid, a proper animated representation of the pokemon games. |

| Holy crap. Freaking nostalgia hitting me in the feels. I love how they even used the game's music. The battle between Charmander and Squirtle are so intense! This is how Pokemon battle animated should be. I also like how they even used a boy in shorts and even a lass trainer here too. Kinda disappointed there is no Pokemon Center music and not Nurse Joy! Anyways, will keep looking forward for more! |

| It's really nice, but rushed. Man, all this nostalgia. Makes me want to play all my games all over again. By the way, they should add new entries for the characters. This Red and the Red from the manga aren't the same person, or any other character from the manga thar got listed, for that matter. |

| I'm a huge Pokemon fan and I was way too excited watching this. Massive nostalgia rush, I swear! They even had the 'New Game' at the beginning and 'Saving' at the end. Professor Oak even has his introduction and releases Evee out. The battle with Gengar and Nidorino is also featured, oh my god! :D Haha, Ash tried to catch the youngster's Nidoran. xD Sugita voicing Brock, YEAHHH!!! The battle was fantastic. The TM is a floppy disk, HAHA! Oh man, I had an amazing time watching this. It was so good to hear the music from the original games fit the scene. Brought back so many memories. :D I still wish this was an actual series though. I can't wait for the remaining 3 episodes. 5/5 |

| I liked how the Pokemon HP showed during the gym battle. I didn't like how Red was throwing his Pokemon left and right. That's probably because I'm too used to Ash going "OH NO! MY POKEMON GOT HIT! I HAVE TO BE SADDENED AND CARE FOR IT!" ^ I'm not making fun of Ash btw. I actually prefer that over what Red was doing. I didn't like how rushed the episode was. I understand it's a special, but it was over the top. And I didn't like Red as a whole. How do you not do research before going on an adventure as massive as that? You should have known that you can't capture other people's pokemon, and you should have known that pokemon types influence battles. I DIDNT LIKE HOW CHARMANDER ALMOST DIED! ;_____; |
