| Some things make more sense, while other things make even less sense than before. But at least things are starting to get explained a little bit! And wtf with the Lain in the sky? I really hope that by the end I can look back and be like, "Oh! Ok, I get that now." But I have the feeling I'm still going to be confused about at least half the weird stuff that's happened. ★4/5 |

| Seems like the Knights hate Lain, she probably tapped into some information that they didn't want her messing with. Also, like someone said, she seemed pretty calm for someone's room that just blew up or perhaps she could be hallucinating and it didn't really happen (which my theory). Who knows? I enjoy the mindfuckery. |

| Lain is like a lazy know-it-all. I was hesitant to watch this show after episode 4 but it looks like it's getting a bit better now. What's with Lain's split personality though since her obsession with computers? |

| What the hell is Lain... Her room makes no sense. Is that even Lain anymore? What was the Lain thing in the clouds? Is she a God now? Okay this episode was interesting 'cause the professor freaking tried explaining. Even tho there are still many questions, at least someone tried. I applaud. This episode was interesting. Finally a good episode, I'm... surprised. Even tho I shouldn't be, it's an acclaimed work, after-all. But honestly, the first 5 episodes disappointed me. |

| ?????????????????????? What is this parasite bomb? Who are the men in black? Why didn't Lain just tell them "Go away!" to make them glass-aperture thingies explode, like she did last time? And why would this time around she come out and talk to the guys, rather than being so aggressive? What's happened that had exactly changed her mind? Why don't we get to see some of the insights of the Knights? It seems like Lain has exchanged a fair bit of messages with them, she even seemed to have been enjoying the conversations with them. Is it too much to ask what are the key characters talking about? I'm so confused. |

I ask all this since she consciously and very calmly left her friends in order to get information on this KIDS and why kids are acting this way. So if these red laser guys are not the Knights who exactly are they? And is the sister braindead? Were the knights who did that to her? |

| Lucy in the sky with diamonds, idk why, but that song went to my head in the scene where Lain look at the sky and see herself, that was a pretty rare thought. KIDS, the spoken research, knights, Lain and her room, the men with the red laser, I don't know what to think. But I make the effort to think about it and I think I understand it. |

I was checking that site and I noticed that disturbing things don't stop only in the "external" part of it. if you go to see the site code (through "analyze element" on chrome) , there's a lot of strange codes. I tried to decrypt one of it, but I didn't succeeded. still an interesting piece of work. (sorry for bad English) |

| This is the only episode that made any sense to me. I dont know if its because I've been really tired for the previous episodes or what but I'm starting to understand (definitely not entirely though). The part that still I was confused about was the kids looking up to the sky but I'm assuming it was a message maybe the Knights sent out to kids who were playing the game? |

| I'll have to admit that the scene where Lain's image appeared in the sky thanks to the psychic energy of her young followers in the Wired gave me some big Monty Python and the Holy Grail vibes lmao I know that Lain most likely has multiple personalities thanks to her deep diving in the Wired but it's really confusing to see her act in one way and act like a completely other person to and fro from one episode to the next. She's never been one to outright care about others let alone complete strangers so seeing her show so much concern for them was pretty weird but I've yet to see how she really acts in her Deus ex Machina form in the Wired to be fair. Her sense of identity's all jumbled up and I think that she hasn't even realized it, hm. The MIB's probably just overseers that update whoever they work for on Lain's current status. It's pretty irritating that they don't even try to hide their stalking though. I assumed that the Knights would like to help Lain out in whatever she's doing but it turns out that they want to get rid of her for some reason after all. I hope that they'll explain where she's getting all that tech since it looks like even her dad's puzzled on how cluttered the place looks now. |

| Everything hints more and more at Lain having a personality disorder. In the real world, she seems to be alternating between her shy and awkward self and her more confident, extrovert self, while at the same time remaining herself. However, when in the Wired she's like a completely different person. Those two versions of her barely have anything in common. (Exactly like how the "Other Lain" was described as the opposite of the Lain we know.) But what's truly interesting is that when the old man mentionned how powerful she is, the way she said that "I... I'm not..." really sounded like regular Lain. It seems to confirm that regular Lain isn't truly conscious of what she's doing as Wired Lain, and the man mentioning how unusual she is seemed to slightly awaken this side of her, as if her consciousness started questioning the situation for a second. Wired Lain also seems to be like some kind of God. She appears on screens, appears to people who murdered someone in the Wired, now appears in the sky and seems to be praised by some people.. Not to mention how she's apparently seeking for justice. And last episode, Lain's father told her that while there is no actual God in the real world, there could be one in the Wired. What's also intriguing is that Wired Lain's apparitions in the real world occured twice when regular Lain was around, which means that at least by two times, regular Lain and Wired Lain existed as separate entities. Could it be that Wired Lain became so powerful she's become capable of sometimes detaching herself from regular Lain, through the Wired ? There's also an important question : it is clear that regular Lain isn't conscious of Wired Lain's existence, but is Wired Lain conscious of regular Lain's ? Aside from that, there also seems to be a lot going on. First of all, Lain's sister is apparently brain-dead. It's as if what happened last episode killed her... Or maybe her spirit has been sucked into the Wired ? There's also the whole thing surrounding this old man. He apparently has been doing experiments on children... But I didn't really get what the "Psi" is supposed to be. It seems important though, considering how those experiments most likely are what the show's title is referring to. Maybe Lain herself is a victim of them ? And finally, there is the Knights and those weird men in black. Now we finally more or less know what the latter are doing : they're most likely trying to prevent Lain from getting killed by the Knights, probably because of how powerful and important she is. But the Knights are supposed to be the people Lain is talking to in the Wired, thinking of them as friends. (At least regular Lain does think of them as such.) They're probably using regular Lain's naivety in a way to obtain her power, or something like that (given the show's themes, it might adress something about the dangerosity of talking to strangers on on the Internet). The "Cheshire Cat" guy clearly is one of them. But that would mean Wired Lain is also quite naive. I hope I'll get my answers by the end of the show ! |

| Kinda unrelated to this but man, Lain sure looked good with those new clothes and makeup. As for Mika, it seems previous episode's incident really affected her. She now looks as hollow and lost as her mother. Rather interesting episode this one was. The already weird events happening around the city are getting more bizarre now and we also got introduced to a new aspect of the plot related to the study of parapsychology. To sum up, Lain has become probably the most known person/user in the Wired and it seems she has been interacting with Knights for quite some time already. She has been acting quite friendly with them but after seeing herself up in the sky like some sort of deity and coming across this experiment based on gathering kids' PSY for unknown purposes, she has started feeling quite distrustful of their intentions. There was also an explosive in her room so that might mean Lain is getting into things she shouldn't but I really wonder if Knights were actually the ones who made her room explode... well, at least we now know that the Men in Black aren't related to that faction. Anyways, guess these following episodes will center around Lain going against whatever plans Knights have regarding the use of this KIDS system. Uhm... wonder if they are trying to make Lain become some sort of God and make her merge both "reality" and the Wired. |
