The whole time I was watching the fight, I was thinking why isnt the needle girl helping him. It was kinda funny how they were just standing there with their mouths open. Also I was wondering why didnt the main character try to cut the ropes, maybe the scissors cant touch them or some like that.

Yeah that along with how stupidly long the whole robe struggling lasted it made this episode the absolute worse for me. It was completely ridiculous.

That was a one sided fight. Not even Kiri could do anything. Iwai trapped and helpless. He was able to injury Seiji but in the end.... But whoa he got shot???
The blonde lady shot him because he was ruining the party. Our next Author has appeared.

The chocking scene reminded me of Third Hokage vs Orochimaru. You know where they kept showing that repeated scene.

If not for the fact that I'm already eight episodes in, I would want to drop this. Seigi's too annoying. The whole hanging fight was ridiculous. *sighs*

This was a weaker episode, mostly because it felt like the hanging went on for too long. I understand why Kiri couldn't cut the rope, but you'd think that the younger Byouinzaka would want to help. I do wonder who shot Seigi though. I don't think it was the police woman, but that wouldn't be too much of a stretch I don't think.

Iwai did look cute with the horns though!

It's obvious that Kiri won't die (since he was shown living in the preview) but I still was at the edge of my seat during the last moments of this episode. And what's with that shot at the end? Was it the blonde lady I wonder?
I really like this show. Since its first episode it was intriguing to watch and it kept getting better.

This episode was kinda meh, the art still had issues and it was just silly and cliché. The two other girls were just standing there and Iwai could've easily escaped the cage because the bars are so far apart.

I really expected Kiri to yell out that he loved Iwai and the rope would fall off. Damn my romantic sensibilities!

Just my thought.

Also, as much as I love this show, there are quite a few things that annoyed me.

First of all, our lovely Iwai-chan starts to get an Orihime-syndrome, which is not good. It's natural to scream out when someone's dying in front of their eyes, but his name is not the only world in the vocabulary.

Secondly, I'm still wondering why didn't he even try to cut the rope. He kind of attempted to put his hand up and stuff, but it wasn't clearly shown that he wasn't able to cut the rope. Even if it wouldn't work, it would still show the natural survival instinct every creature has. Geez.

And of course, he cannot actually cut the rope because 1) It's a part of a killing good and 2) The rope is his own guilt.

I guess that every kind of love is selfish if we want the person we adore (all) to ourselves (which was shown in the previous episodes). But I don't think he's selfish in terms 'he needs someone's hair to cut'. Idk.

Seigi, your smile is cool, but-- Disappear. Your sense of judgement is catastrophically wrong and I wish Kiri could pick this out in order to fight him with words. Well, I guess calling him a coward worked quite well, too.

But gosh, this choking scene was really too long. D: It was all intense first, but at then I just wanted this scene to end. It seems that they stretched this scene out just to get the cliffhanger... Which unfortunately, seemed forced.

And the colour-scheme changes were simply too random. They could have managed it better.

I loved every precious episode, it still has pretty graphics, it's well animated, the music is pleasurable for ears, too. The plot device or Killing Goods, The Queen, Authors and Insteads is what interests me the most. I also find it quite ironic that the most powerful or bloodthristy murderer's Instead is the Queen herself. I find it cute when Iwai calls Kiri the bloodthirsty murderer with such an adorable voice, but that's just me and my preferences in a darker humour. xD

3/5.

The fight between Kiri and Rulebook was too long. A lot longer than I expected - and as a side effect it leads people to question how Kiri was able to stay conscious for that amount of time all the while struggling to attack Rulebook, when the actual scene in the source didn't really last that long.

It was a bad decision to extend this scene when we could have gotten over the Party arc as soon as it should and moved on to a lot of waiting content. Also, for all the unnecessary length of that fight scene, they then had to rush what happens to Rulebook, causing things to go out of order unless they're planning to cut all of his next lines.

Severe pacing issues this episode. First time I've been let down by the adaptation which was rather faithful so far.

It was literally just watching him strangle for five minutes. It was so horrifying and unnerving. I kept hoping the rope would break, because when someone had intentions to protect someone else, that's of good. Guess not, because now he's hanging limp and suspended.

Gosh they really just dragged it out. So freaky...

So, Seigi is one of those justice characters, but I think he's just the sub-villain here.

Why couldn't Iwai go through the bars? It was obvious she could fit.
Why couldn't Kiri cut the rope? He has Severing Crime Edge, doesn't he?

Kiri dies in the end. But in the preview, he's alive. So...

Who's the blonde girl? And was she the one who shot Seigi?
I bet she did, thus making Seigi lose consciousness or something, thus setting Kiri free from the rope.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

It was an alright episode, at least the cliffhanger is finally propelling me forward.

Loved this ep!
The whole party somehow reminds me of Phantasmagoria from Gosick - and I guess Kiri and Iwai are a kinda similar pair to Kujo and Victorique, apart from the fact that Victorique is more confident than Iwai
Pretty awesome faceoff between Kiri and Seigi. Erm - can the party guests not tell that Kiri and Seigi were actually fighting? They can't have believed that was staged?!!
I wanted Iwai to somehow help Kiri out there, but I guess she couldn't - if only she also had some kinda weapon - they'd probably make a nice team.
Hmm, why did the preview show that Kiri lives? (Even though that much is obvious, in episodes where a character might have died they usually don't appear in the preview, right?)
Next ep should be good.

I came here to say exactly this. I mean, even if the Goods are supposedly indestructible, it certainly wouldn't have hurt for him to try and cut the rope - it wouldn't be a much worse strategy than his plan of just flailing around like an idiot.

Speaking of flailing around, that whole scene went on for far too long. Was it really necessary to drag things out that much? Kiri ultimately living through this is inevitable; so, if you are going to fake killing him off, at least do it quickly so everyone can move on.

I think the reasons as to why Kiri didn't try to cut the rope was because 1.the rope was part of Seigi's Killing Goods and 2. assuming that it would work...he would be able to cut it but the thing is ropes are multi-fibered and strong as hell so it would of probably meant that he would have to spend precious time on trying to shave off the ropes with a fucking scissor compared to using the time to try to kill Seigi so the rope would disappear.

But yeah the fight scene really did last too long.

I'd ask why he didn't just cut the rope, but the elephant in the room is that is he didn't need to attend parties that are obvious traps in the first place. The whole point of a "death game" is that the contestants are either forced into it, or offered a valuable reward for joining it willingly. Neither Kiri or Iwai are forced into anything here, nor are they offered any reward. There was no reason to attend this party. Then again, perhaps "death game" isn't the right word, because only one person died so far and it was a character with no dialogue that was killed in the same episode he was introduced.

Seigi's Killing Good seems to be the most powerful of all. Initially I thought someone needed to commit a real crime (however insignificant) for the rope to materialise around their neck, but it seems like Seigi can use it without the victim having perpetrated a crime. In short, he can use it for any reason he desires. It'll definitely be tough to counter.
