And so were back where the series started. At the top of the tower. Nice save from Akane, but I knew she wouldn't be able to kill him in the end.

The Chief appears to be an android and Shuusei had to die (I presume) for seeing the Sybil system. This sucks. I think the Chief maybe the main villain after all...

After the last 2 shitty episodes (especially 14) this one was really fucking good.

Nice action, nice cliff hanger.

And I knew the 3rd Inspector dies, though I didn't expect him to die like this.
Crazy ending.

^LOL Makishimabird xD

Really amazing episode. Nothing was that surprising really, (Chief being some kind of cyborg thing, Kagari's death) but the execution was so suspenseful and just really GOOD. Actually I take that back, I was utterly shocked when Akane was the one to knock out Makishima. I laughed so hard, such a satisfying blow to the head. Too bad she didn't finish him off.

Didnt they say the idea of this show originated in Blade Runner movie? If so, human clones aka replicants couldnt possibly miss from it. ALthough I do hope it doesnt turn into a "clones wanting to take over the human world" thing.

Best episode so far. As others have said, most of the outcomes were fairly predictable, but the way that they got to them was amazing. I'm really going to miss Shuusei, though it makes me sad that I've had a really hard time remembering any of their names and I could not remember his when he died.

What I really enjoyed about Psycho Pass is the fact that even though we guessed that Chief Jousei Kasei would play an antagonist role, it still manage to surprise us by revealing what she actually is. They could have left it on an ending where Jousei, in her human form, killed Kagari and we wouldn't been none the wiser about her true form. The ending shows that even if we assume the reveal is true, it's not the whole story and I'm kinda glad that I was pleasantly surprised that there was more to her than "antagonist"

Why does everyone say Kagari is dead? It said "Non lethal Paralyzer."

Now I see why she overwrote the decision of the gun and made it Letal.. Good game. The chief must be a part of the Sibyl system or something here..

Holy...wow this episode. I wasn't exactly surprised by anything except the chief being a robot but... wow. Loved the action scenes as well, this anime has really begun to up the ante. I honestly was torn as to Akane's decision. I suppose she didn't end up killing Makishima because she didn't want to become like him.

Also, personally I think that the chamber was empty. There is no Sibyl System...maybe. The high energy use etc. is just a cover up. Or Sibyl is just a puppet of the government used to keep control and make everyone think everything is okay.

what the hell? the chief is some robot thing in charge of the Sibyl System? It seemed bad for Kagari going alone .... but did they kill him off? LAME.

Kougami got wrecked only for Akane to show up at an opportune time as expected.

I figured if Shougo would be beaten this early then there was another main enemy ..... which seems to be their boss? Who probably has some connection with Shougo?

Ahhh this is getting good.

Well shit........Awesome episode, that fight was pretty good even if it was straightforward. Akane for the win. For a second I was surprised and though she was going to kill him because of all the flashbacks with her friend. I really wanted to see him die but its not in her character. If KO wasn't injured he might have won, too bad I guess.

And that ending with the system revealed and us not getting to see what it is. I saw someone mention that maybe it doesn't actually exist or something. That would be pretty interesting. Then there is the chief, what the hell happened to her and how did she override the gun, its like she is part of the system or something. And the worst part is Kagari, he's probably dead but I would prefer it if he isn't. Kagari was a pretty good character so it would be nice if he wasn't dead. Hard to tell what's next.

i think the criminal guy mentioned that he doesnt need to destroy Sybil. If the people can see it, it will do enough damage to the public. i believe he was taking pictures before getting killed

based on other urobuchi's work, kagari is dead. otherwise, it would be lame if hes still alive.

I am thinking a massive number of human brains. Here are several reasons for my idea:
_The Sibyl system has to something so outrageous that just seeing a picture of it bring the end for its existence. A robot, or an alien would not do since that's what people of the country would expected, something supernatural. However, if the people see that they are just controlled by normal people like them, there is no way they will accept that.
_Guseong mentioned Sibyl computing power is greater then anything humanity has produced up to this point. Human's brain is a likely candidate since we are only using a tiny fraction of our brain capability. Thus it is not impossible Sibyl used human brains as its processor
_I was wondering for a long time how Sibyl recognizes human criminal tendency by using the simple brain scan. Would it be that scientists have already mapped our brain like they did our DNA, and understood what we are thinking based on the scans? What if it is using living samples of criminal brains? What if people developed Sibyl by gathering all the possible criminals and all the possible crime motives in one place, then use them as samples for the system to detect criminal intents? The reason Touma and Makishia can fool the system is because their situations have not been registered in Sibyl's sample bank yet. The Chief did mention that Touma will help "improve" the system maybe alluring to this fact.

agree, probably living brains. that's why that old lady wants them to catch Makishima alive...

I loved this episode, I never expected the chief to be an android. But why did kagari have to be the first to go ;-;? I started loving Akane even more in this episode, I found how she downed maki funny though XD. I personally like how she didn't kill Makishima; I was half expecting her to turn into an enforcer this episode but was relieved when she made her decision. It shows just how strong she is when it comes to controlling her emotions and it sure goes well in explaining as to why she can maintain a clear hue.

Won't be surprised if Kagari is dead, but the Lethal Eliminator at the end was odd looking wasn't it? If you just compare the one that killed the hacker and the one that shot Kagari they're different. O.o

EDIT: Ah, nevermind. Someone posted that it was the "Decomposer" mode, that would explain it.

What I don't get, is why Kagari was killed with Destroy Decomposer while chief killed whats-his-name with Lethal Eliminator.. If you wanted to completely vaporize the body to keep the blood off your precious sybil system, then why did you kill the first one with just Lethal Eliminator? That's already an entire person worth of guts sprayed all over it. If it was to make sure no one ever found traces of the body, then why does it matter? You're not gonna allow anyone in that room in the first place, so even if the guts are sprayed all over, no one will ever find it. Yes, kill him and use him as a scapegoat; claim the reason these helmets worked was because someone on the inside was messing around, and make excuses, and tell the enforcers that he was working with them, and thats why they cannot search the basement, that one of their own was already a traitor and they wouldn't be trusted.

loved the episode except for Kagari's death. i finally started seeing him as a great character during this episode and then he just dies. I want to hope he's still alive but seeing how the light closed in on his face [and his remark about "...this bites."] i'm sure he's dead T.T
R.I.P. Kagari, you were a character who deserved way more screen time

oh and i hope that robot chief gets destroyed by Kougami or Akane with the decomposer mode.

In the end Akane was able to resist her desire for revenge and avoided becoming a murderer herself, as such her behaviour is certainly applaudable as she didn't let her own emotions get the better of her.

You are wrong. Akane couldn't kill him, because of the same reason she couldn't kill him, when her friend was murdered in front of her.
She is too obedient to the system, and can't kill any one without Sibyl's authorisation.

Is it really certain that Kagari is dead? I mean... we haven't seen his body and the gun could just paralyze him. It's shame if he really passed away, I kind of liked him (plus his VA is freaking boss), but in regards of the show's pace, it was only matter of time when someone's gonna die.
The fight between Kougami and Makishima was awesome. I was surprised (in a good way of course) that Makishima isn't just intelligent psychopath, but also a good fighter. Though he got totally owned by Akane, I feel the urge to apologize to her (even though she's a fictional character lol) because I thought she would be another useless female character.
The only thing you can rely on is that you can't rely on anything.

For this episode pacing convenience, all guards and security systems were all implied to be easily disposed of by Makishima and his team. But I agree it's a directing mistake not showing any personnel in the building or at least not explaining why there were no one beside that Chief

I'm pretty sure that in some shots from inside the building you can see employees that have been brutally murdered at their desks, along with the dismembered drones. Also the basement complex is a huge secret so it is understandable that you won't find any random janitors wandering about in there, just the Chief.

I loved the episode, definitely the best of the series so far. It is a step up after the last two, which I didn't enjoy that much (too much violence just... hammering in the same ideas - pun not intended!). Kagari was my favourite member of the team, so it was sad to see him die. The bit at the end was just the perfect mix of tragedy and humour ("Oh it's just the paralyzer, he's gonna li... Oh shit!"). It is very unlikely that he's still alive.

I don't understand why some people are surprised at Makishima defeating Kogami. It was shown in previous episodes that Makishima is a bad-ass fighter, and on top of that he was perfectly calm while Kogami was in a judgement-clouding rage. I have the feeling that some viewers are just not paying attention, especially since I've seen them pointing out "plot holes" that, in fact, have perfectly reasonable explanations.

It was explained in the previous episode that the guards of that building were sent out to suppress the riots. That was the whole point of the huge diversion in the first place...
