| Wow, I'm impressed, this first episode was great imo. Nice action scenes, art, music. (OP was bad imo) It's gotten me interested in the manga. |

| I liked the opening, but it did feel a bit out of place. Though, it is now Madhouse signature to have those kind of openings. The animation of the fights were insane. Story is developing. I will keep my eye on this one <3 |

| This was really fun to watch. The action and camera angles were great, and the animation quality was high. Only two things to complain about: Momo-Hime said: Same here. The second thing was the camera angle when Kurou jumped off the cliff at the beginning: I think it should have tilted over the cliff and followed him down for a sec. | Considering Blade of the Immortal is my all time favorite manga this is right up my alley! Beautiful animation and action sequences and the promise of an engaging tale; yeah I'm happy so far. |

| No idea what the plot is all about given that the development in this episode is just all over the place. One minute they just met, and the next have em going at it inside a tree. Well this is only the first episode so maybe they saved the actual development at a later time. Action wise, I am definitely loving the red blood :-) |

| I'm a sucker for amazing art and animation and as mentioned earlier the story seems promising. so hooked at this point. though i did lol @ the arrow scene. It was just TOO matrix-y. |

| that was pretty fukken badass. Reminds me of ninja scroll. The action is also very well done. I'm putting this on my watch list for sure. Only down sides are opening song was horrid, only song i have ever heard that made my ears actualy hurt. And I listen to metal for christ sakes. Also the script of alittle predictable . Half the time I was saying in my head what they where gonna say next before they even said it. |

| This went absolutely 0 over my expectations. Kinda meh. Not suspenseful enough. Disinegrated skyscrapers + samurai. Interested in the back story to this which they probably won't explain. 3/5 |

| A bit rushed (he doesn't know much of her and he already fall in love) but I really loved this tensed and agonizing atmosphere. The animation was really good and fitted perfectly with the mood. It reminded of Aoi Bungaku (the first arc). The love story as well reminded me of Aoi Bungaku. I like it so far and the fights were really fun to watch ( a bit too gory for me tho'). |

| Apart from the horrible ending and the really thin characters and abit of a generic plot so far. . . It was alright. Though it's abit weird that some random woman takes care of your fever, rape-kisses you, then you both indulge into some sloppy make-outs and then she rejects you midway. And suddenly you want to protect her even though she hanged a man upside down and drained his blood as she proceeds to suckle on what's possibly 'fresh' life force. It had the potential. . . |

I actually thought it was him aswell, but after a closer look, it didnt look like him. *Edit - Even though I saw Death Note English dubbed, I recognized Light's Japanese voice actor halfway through, that was cool :) |

| The art is good. But it was also good in the manga. Unfortunately the story of this seems even worse than in the manga though. Also less violence and no sex? I won't last long. |

| This was interesting, although I can't say that I was actually interested throughout the whole episode. But at the same time, it felt like the episode went by pretty fast. Aside from the opening scene and the action near the end, the episode felt very quiet. This title caught my attention only because of Araki Tetsurou's name, and I had this on PTW for awhile. Needless to say, his directing was superb as always, and along with Madhouse's quality animation, I think that's the reason why it was engaging rather than interesting. I feel like Kurou and Kuromitsu must've been in the house together for more than a day or two give how quickly they were attracted to each other and how fast they moved in the relationship. It doesn't bother me that much though. I was pretty shocked when all of a sudden some guy appeared behind Kuromitsu and then slashed her arm off, like holy shit. I'm guessing Kuromitsu is the reason why Kurou is immortal or something, given that this is all a flashback and he's actually in a time where there are crumbled buildings. I also like the kabuki play at the beginning. So this is like a fantasy retelling of Minamoto no Yoshitsune's life after Heike Monogtari. |

| Gorgeous visuals and character designs and I'm a sucker for Heian setting. Not too sure how the vampire/supernatural angle and a love story will play out thought. I'm a bit concerned about the score looking forward, but then again this might just be MAL punishing a series that doesn't have 'feels' or proper teenage protagonists. |

| Madhouse ❤ So the character is from that era.. Yoshitsune and Benkei era.. I don't know what is it called xD Where's Benkei? Is he the dead guy? Or maybe the one that with people talking about Kuromitsu? I don't remember his face xD |

| Poor guy, Benkei had such a tragic off screen death. I'm surprised that the quality of animation for this show has really stood the test of time. 13 years later and studio madhouse is still an amazing anime studio. |
