This show was both nasty and just bad.
Looks like I need to watch "Redial" to see the real ending. Not that it can fix all the nonsense, continuity errors and terrible characterization this show had.
It wasn't even all that entertaining either, so I probably shouldn't have bothered to watch this in the first place..
Meh! I really hate this show with a passion, but I'll give it a fair score of 4/10

i recently finished the series didn't know what to think, it felt so weird.
after thinking it over, i realized that this entire series every moment of it - its like a dream.
think about it, it makes perfectly sense, i won't even try to show you why i think you'll understand for yourself, if you think about it.
i finished the show in 22 hours almost couldn't stop, and when it was over it felt like satisfaction and disappointment at the same time, and i needed more. just like waking up from a dream. and all dreams are masterpieces, no exception, that is why it's 10/10.
i hope i changed your minds for the better, because entertainment should make you fill good.

What a confusing anime.... but that does not mean it wasn't awesome! ^__^
Enjoyed every second of it and even if I didn't like how it ended so much, it was still quite entertaining.

7/10 from me! :D

A very confusing anime in my opinion. Had to look at a plot summary to understand what was going on at the end. I give it 5/10.

It's been 10 thousand years (technology must have improved like hell), and Yukkii is still depressed over Yuno's death.. I liked the episode for most of the parts, except for a few inconsistencies. At the end there "Yuno came for me" lolwut? Oh by the way, Yukkii is pretty much immortal, so.. why was Deus growing weaker?

P.S. Did Minene stay behind in the third world? WTF? -.-

I loved the show up until the last 3 episodes. I didn't like very much the whole multi-dimension travel.

The ending was ok... So Yukki just stared at is mirai nikki for ten thousand years? Seriously?

Fortunately, the OVA makes a much better ending than the tv show.
Overall a 9/10 and Gasai Yuno will go one as one my favourite characters.

Agreed, BTOOOM deserves a second season! But if you watch Mirai Nikki: Redail then it is pretty well concluded.

okay i finished the damn thing. can i just say 2 things before i start ranting or something?
1. Dammit I feel so empty
2. My respect for yuno has increased tenfold. The reason why I was rooting for her back then even if she was a total psycho, was because she was so badass! As in she was so smart and strong and she thought of the greatest plans! She was just so capable you know? (hehe pun not intended) but now especially during the 26th episode I began to respect her. She wasn't crazy. It's like my explanation for yuki's sudden growth of balls in the episode 22 discussion -- She just acted the way she acted 'cause of the situation she was placed in. If you had to go through all that:
* parents trapping you in a small cage if you didn't follow something properly
* end up killing them
* months or a year later you become a part of some kill or be killed game
* you kill the person you love just so you could win, thinking if you became god you could just resurrect them, but then finding out that once dead, you stay dead. So you sink into desperation to go to an alternate timeline and resort to killing all over just to experience it all again.

Wouldn't you turn into some cray killing machine? Of course the experience made you all the more stronger.

Which is why I realized, in the scene where yuno was about to kill her third world self and was talking to her, that she was put into some real shit and she is just a kid after all and to have come so far--> Wow she was real strong. She didn't break down even after all the shit that she had experienced in her own timeline (the first world) she kept on fighting for what she believed to be was the best option.(although it's not, but don't you get it? What other option did she have?/could she have thought of in her case?)

Dude I really respect that.

And I loved episode 26. Truly. 'Cause throughout the whole show i didn't really feel a deep attachment to anyone or any scene or any happening. But at that
moment when 1st world yuno and 2nd world yukki were hugging and talking. I seriously felt a tug in my heart. And when she didn't stab him but instead stabbed herself.....dude... Ultimate sacrifice. I was waiting for yuno to do that. 'Cause she kept on wanting yukki to be the one to kill her and if he didn't kill her she'd just kill him.
But damn, to kill yourself? -insert raised hands emoji here- It just proved my point all the more. That yuno wasn't crazy.

Dudes she was really truly in love.

nooow on to the questions :D

okay so after episode 26. in the third world. my heart just died when i saw yukki with wakaba.....but for some reason. It's like yuno third world
somehow knows/feels things, you know? (oops i did it again hehe) Cause it was shown that when she spotted yukki and wakaba together with his parents, her hands started trembling..? Could it be fate? What does it mean exactly? Does she somehow feel the love for him that was I guess unavoidable? I guess I'll have to watch the OVA to find out...
I'mma persistent little bugger ;D

What an anime typical ending. It just had to be weird. It's sad and Yukiteru reminded me of some mythology at the end. Sigh. Way to wrap up the show. Overall, this is one of the more entertaining series.

This anime really had me hooked.
I watched it in less than a week, which doesn't happen usually in my schedule.
The beginning was good, but after fourth died in the middle of the series, it started to drag a bit until the last arc.

It was my type of anime in the sense of their being a killing game, but there were times the characters didn't shine as bright as their full potential.

That being said, I'll put this at 7/10 for now. I'll need to think about the score a little more.

I like how Yuno looked within herself and asked herself "When did I become this twisted?".
It's nice to see that all diary owners got a happy ending.
But I don't understand why there isn't a survival game in the third world? Is it because they weren't chosen since their futures were changed?

I like this anime overall. Most of its potential were ruined because of various plotholes and inconsistencies.
It had interesting characters particularly Yuno and they had tragic past that evoke sympathy from the viewers. I was actually rooting for Sixth and Seventh instead of Yukki. lol

6.5/10

This anime was kind of a disappointment. I was expecting more when planning to watch this anime. I was skeptical at first but in the end it wasn't all that. I believe this anime had the potential to be better. All I really enjoyed in this anime were the killing parts. Not to sound insane but I was really looking forward to something a little more realistic. The plot of the anime kind of lacked. It felt like the writer of this just kept putting ideas into the anime and eventually confusing and destroying the story.

Completely agree with your assessment. Overall, I found the anime to be pretty frustrating at points. I felt that this love was so ridiculous I mean honestly, a middle schooler who realizes the love of his life? I don't know to me it seems crazy that their relationship-also unhealthy-could blossom so quickly. And, Yuno is insane, certifiably. She needs serious therapy. Ai and Marco's relationship made waaay more sense. Regardless, I liked the happy ending for all the other players. This anime reminded me Higurashi in some ways although, the characters were way more likeable and the heaetbreak was waaay harder. When Higurashi ended I cried tears of joy.

Still, I rate this anime 8/10 with a definite recommend to watch.

Finished watching yesterday, it was an awesome ride, I know it doesn't make much sense that a middle schooler realizes the love of his life but still, it's an anime and it's during puberty where you find love, even if a weak one. Been with my girlfriend for 5 years, I was 15 and she was 14 I'm now 19...

This episode made me cry so much.. When she said "Truth is... I would love anyone as long as I depended on them" hurted me so much after watching this many episodes of her spamming Yukki Yukki Yukki..

And when she stabbed herself I legitly cried, and this is coming from someone who had never cried before watching movies/shows/anime.

All in all, it can have its plotholes, but in the end it's a great anime that was able to make me cry.

That's wonderful that you found your love. I found mine almost nine years ago and it's been a helluva ride. I agree that even young you can find love, I only think it seemed a bit sudden in the anime. After some thought I can say yes, there is love there, and I agree that overall their love is poignant.

THIS THIS THIS OH DEAR LORD THIS

This was like... a typical, euphoric happy ending for everyone involved in the third world (except I actually think it'd be quite sad if Yuki and Yuno didn't end up together there), then the most tragic ending ever for the second world. The idea of Yuki sitting there staring at the final message in his diary for, what, TEN THOUSAND YEARS, is so damn depressing to me. That's true love right there. And after losing everything in the world and the world itself, what point is there in even becoming god?

Plus, I cried when Yuno stabbed herself.

Man, if it wasn't for some really dumb events at times, this would've been an utterly amazing anime. Now I just haven't a clue from hell what to rate it. A six? Nine? I have no idea, but I'm definitely leaning towards the latter. Ultimately, I absolutely loved this over these last few episodes. The ending needs explained better, but I'm assuming Redial will improve on that. And honestly, I'm a sucker for ambiguous endings anyway.

I like this ending but still what is up with most anime and their happy endings.

You see how the other 12 contestants have led their happy endings.
Even Yuno-san has a kind of happy ending because she didn't get abused by her mother anymore which made her not go insane and kill her parents but she still has a feeling of missing something important. Except from that feeling it's a happy ending for her as well.
For Amano-kun, his happy ending seems to consist being happy with his parents and having Wabaka-san as his girlfriend.

So in the 3rd world, everyone has a happy ending. Only the 1st and 2nd world hasn't.
To my understanding, the 1st world is destroyed because Yuno-san killed herself and without a god, the world is destroyed.
The 2nd world is an empty world with only Amano-kun as god and MurMur2 as servant.

Questions:
1)
Yuno-san and Ouji-kun apparently became friends along with Hinata-san and Mao-san but the only reason they know each other is because 9th bombed their school in the 2nd world. In the 3rd world it was the 1st Yuno and MurMur who did the bombing so this could be why they have moved to the other school.
Ouji-kun only knew Hinata-san and Mao-san because he pranks/bullies Yuno-kun along with Yuno-san because she was with Amano-kun all the time.
To top it off, Hinata-san was only interested in Amano-kun because of her father.

So what happened and how did they became friends without Amano-kun?

2)
3rd world Amano-kun's parents are together and he has Wakaba-san as girlfriend.
How?
Nothing has changed his past in the 3rd world so he should still be the lone observer. His father should still have money issues which makes him leave the family. Since nothing has changed, the feelings of Wakaba-san should also still be the same. Don't understand this tho.

3)
3rd world Yuno-san has a feeling of missing something important and even saw Amano-kun for a brief moment instead of Aru. Didn't both of them go to the same class and aren't they still going to the same school? Shouldn't she feel something strange when she should see him pass by or something?

BTW, having Aru-kun being in love with Amano-kun seems to me useless. Either try to develop it a little better or leave it out completely.
This what bothered me until I Yuno's backstory --> wtf did she see in him? He's a weak, emotional, observing cry-baby. I understand Yuno's reason for loving him (she's insane and has nothing and needed a someone). Still don't understand what Ura-kun saw in him tho.

Why didn't Yuno just kidnap Yuki with her God-Powers from the 2nd Universe and take him into the 1st Universe? 1st Universe is stable because Yuno won and is the God. Yuki will come around eventually, I mean he must be starting puberty soon.

i have a question. i was on the yuno thread and saw this one post and it said
"She became lonely and sad with nothing to live for after some events took place, she found Yuki which became her only ''hope'' in life, something to live for and the only thing to look forward to was his promise, he didn't mean it seriously but she took it seriously thus her obsession with Yuki began which later that obsession manifested into pure insanity."
u know how 1st yuno killed 2nd yuno she killed her on the same day they made the promise but only later when 2nd yuno got home from school. if 1st yuno wasnt there when they made the promise earlier in the day, how could she have known all about it? she even talked about the whole promise thing in detail of what happened to yuki on the ferris wheel. any explanation ._.

I liked the ending. I always get angry when I rush an anime, but I saw this in one sitting. I was happy about this ending. If you want to see a better ending, which I had to do, watch the redial OVA. It is really nice.

It's hard to digest this anime properly. I almost fall for Yuno because of how sweet she is. I guess this sort of anime is similar to Welcome to The NHK or Black Lagoon where a guy who hates his life suddenly has a change. You sort of grow with the character and see it through.

The only part I was frustrated with was with Yuki when he did nothing for 10,000 years. You serious? That is so frustrating to see. It gets answered *sort of* in the redial OVA. I recommend everyone watch this.

I loved the progression of this anime. I liked the music, animation, and character development. There were some stupid plot holes, but I am just glad Yuno and Yuki stay together. I really enjoyed Yuno.

Damn, its even better after the rewatch :)
I pitty Yuno more and dislike Yukki more.
Plus, i dont remember i noticed before that Yukki and Yuno created new world together or i just forgot about it. Well, it was fun watching crazy Yuno again.
