That's probably the biggest first week LN boost we're seeing with SAO here. Not unexpected, but still impressive nonetheless. I'm curious to find out whether the effect can hold for as long as it did with other hits such as Durarara!!.

> ... I suppose Asakura's break hasn't helped the sales, but ugh. They certainly don't reflect the series' quality. >_<
I really loved it, i read the whole 9 volumes last week and i just love every game he goes to. Here's me hoping that the anime will make it up to GGO at least
Good to see GANGSTA. scraping into the top twenty (the dog tags that came with the volume probably helped heighten interest). Overall lots of great stuff on the list this time.

I think it will only cover up to the ALO arc since Suguha is listed as a supporting character but Shino isn't. Though I'm not even sure that it'll include ALO, since the antagonist (forgot his name) from that arc isn't listed as a character and it wouldn't be that hard to think of a reason why we'd see Suguha outside of the ALO arc even though that's the first time she appears in the novels.
I guess it's only a matter of time before we see some Anime based on Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou. The numbers it reaches are just amazing. I mean almost 900k for the first volume, it's just almost beyond believe.
Otaku no naka no Otaku, Otaking ni narimasu -- Otaku no Video, Gainax, 1992.
Glad to see SAO's getting the recognition it deserves. I can't wait for volume 10 to be translated.
Hopefully with these sales, an English version could be published. I would love to own hard copies
I didn't know until I saw the release on Manga Updates but the 5th volume of my favorite Light Novel came out on the 10th.
It is the highest rated Light Novel on Manga Updates (Yes, in case you're wondering it is higher than Sword Art Online, Spice & Wolf, Index - the original and the sequel, the Monogatari series, No.6 and so on and so forth), 13th if you include all titles (including Manga, Webcomics, Manhwas, Manhuas, OELs, Doujinshis and Light Novels).
I am so very disappointed that the 5th volume of "Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria" (The Empty Box and the Zeroth Maria) didn't even make it into the top 30 in its first week... Well it did go 2 years without a volume coming out, but I guess I can say goodbye to any chances of it getting an anime or even a manga adaptation.
I'll leave the summary here in the spoiler (as any good fanboy should):
Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria, or The Empty Box and The Zeroth Maria, tells the sinister story of Kazuki Hoshino, who is almost madly attached to his everyday life, and his antagonist Aya Otonashi, who suddenly transfers into his class—for the 13,118th time. She majestically announces to “break” him, without paying heed to anyone else around them.
This is but the start of a dark roller coaster ride that turns the two against themselves, the people around them and the one who may be god. Read on as their relationship slowly changes and they go against their most basic values in their struggle against the world itself.
Well, at least the fan-lation(?) is coming out fast enough. The story is quite complex so I guess I'll re-read the first 4 volumes again. Let the mindfuck begin.
