Probably for the magazine to further promote these 2 manga so they started an animation production community for it? Since the sales for light novels that got adapted into anime has increase tremendously. To conclude, probably the same strategy?

I don't get why the girls who buy the manga don't buy the anime.

There are so many great shojo titles out there (Shinobi Life anyone? This would make a GREAT anime that guys would probably watch too).

I know right... T-T That would be awesome as hell *A*

again, about Shinobi Life, which I also LOVE more than Tonari and Suki, it sold mediocre in Japan...yea. Mangas like Barajou no kiss, Dengeki Daisy, Shinobi Life, Arisa....they are not popular in Japan. Ikr? WHY?

not really. if you tell friends who like the manga on forums/blogs etc. and they buy it that's SOMETHING right? But then again...who'd want to buy something they don't understand...

Still waiting for that High School Debut anime and that Ouran High School Host Club sequel.

really? but even if it says fall broadcast....wait...BROADCAST? That meaning...on TV? They only use broadcast on TV right? Oh, I don't want to get my hopes up incase they'll be crushed again. :(

can you please show me where you saw that?

Various news websites such as Otakomu have posted articles mentioning the fall "broadcast", along with the staff and cast lists for both titles. Things worthy of mention: the cast is completely different from the drama CD for Tonaru no Kaibutsu-kun - as for Sukitte Iinayo, they'll be keeping the same voices for the leads (which means Kayano Ai x Sakurai Takahiro), but not for the side characters.

what don't you get? all shoujo manga have been better than its counterpart anime adaptions. Shoujo manga just does not translate well to motion, it's very awkward to watch.

After reading some info on this two manga, both sound very cliche to me, will only try them if some of the blogs I visit and trust will have anything good to say about them.

It seems rather simplistic to attribute the reason to "all shoujo manga anime adaptations are bad", or to some intrinsic difficulty in rendering shoujo manga in animation compared to other genres. Nothing about anime is inherently ill-suited to depicting character-driven romantic dramas, the main staple of shoujo manga that gets adapted into anime.

More likely it's a result of different demographics displaying different media consumption patterns. Children's anime and major shounen magazine properties don't sell very well on home video either, but certainly nobody would attribute that to lack of enjoyability for the target demographic, or some difficulty in translating them to animation. They don't sell much on home video because their target demographics spend money on the properties through other forms of media. (This applies to younger-demographic shoujo as well, most notably Precure.)

And of course, some shoujo manga adaptations do perform well as anime, such as Kimi ni Todoke, or Natsume Yuujin-chou.

I'm just saying, shoujo fans are usually very picky about artwork, and shoujo manga art is much better than anime art (anime can't be too detailed and most shoujo anime are low-budget) which is why they may buy manga but not anime.
And I always see shoujo in a more limited demo as in it's aimed at tween- teen girls, I know stuff like Natsume is technically shoujo but it really appeals to everyone.

Yay! I'm happy about these two, especially Takahiro Sakurai. He's pretty much my favorite male VA.

Haru Yoshida - Tatsuhisa Suzuki
Souhei Sasahara - Ohsaka Ryouta
Director - Hiro Kaburaki
Series Composition - Noboru Takagi
Character Design - Tomohiro Kishi (art director for Nodame Cantabile)

YES.

So far, so good! Now to wait and see if they'll be TV series or not...

I`m exited for both series. Casts and everything sound great.
Not the best shoujo manga`s out there, but definitely good! They deserve an anime.
Though I agree that Dengeki Daisy or Strobe edge (together with Ao Haru...but Haru`s too short yet) deserve it too!
Strobe Edge is finished and is a great piece for anime. Hope it`ll get one someday.
As for dengeki daisy, I hope they are just waiting for manga to end as animation studio did with Sakamichi no Apollon.

I think trolls should just give shoujo lovers a break. Don`t like, don`t watch. It`s simple. There are rarely original noncliche animes nowadays. And it`s been a while we got nice shoujo`s animated. About freaking time we get some nice romance!

Can`t wait. Fall season will be awesome with this and Bones`s zetsuen no tempest.
Glad to hear it`s TV series for Sukitte Iinayo. Hope for the same with Kaibutsu-kun.

d-do mine ears deceive me? t-t-t-t-tv anime tv series for suki iite na yo? O_O THERE IS A GOD UP THERE! HALLELUJAH! PRAISE THE LORD!

Now, on cue, probably the studio will say that its a mistake and its only an OVA. Hope Kaibutsu-kun gets a TV series too.

Man, I can hear the trolls now. Two shoujo anime? YUCK! WELL IN YOUR FACE! WE GIRLS WILL CELEBRATE!

Now listen to me ladies, I posted this before but I will post again! IN ORDER TO GET MORE SHOUJO ANIME SUKI ITTE II NA YO HAS TO SELL WELL! YOU HEAR ME?

Please, please PLEASE PLEASE buy it if you can! Every little but of support helps! [bJapanese girls have a record for not buying shoju anime and in the end it sells a pittance and less shoujo anime are made...so come on! We, the fanbase outside Japan have to TAKE MATTERS INTO OUR OWN HANDS! THIS IS FOR THE SAKE OF MORE SHOUJO! Its really simple, just go to amazon japan or any other shopper assistant sites like personal shopper japan(I have experience with them, they're really good) and buy! Its not that expensive! We have money to spend on spend on cosplay items so we can spare a bit for this right?Who's with me?

Really looking forward to watching Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun now. I mean, that's a pretty sexy cast and staff. One of my favorite anime studios along with the director of one of my favorite shoujo anime? I'm a happy camper right now.

What "Adolescence" do you have?
Do you remember "Childhood"?
The irreplaceable one existed there.

Yay! Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun's staff and seiyuu is pretty good! And it's Brain base :D Too bad that Kenichi Suzumura isn't in here. And I still hope it'll be a OVA (I'm sure they won't screw it up if it's an OVA) because I don't see where they can really end the series unless if it's an anime original ending... :S Ah... but if it's only one episode OVA, it isn't really possible for Yuuzan and Ooshima to be in here... So, I think it'll be a series or many episode OVA... :O

And for Say "I love you", I'm just interested in Takahiro Sakurai... ><

I'm more interested in Sukitte Iinayo simply for Takahiro Sakurai, but I heard there's smut in it? Can a manga reader kindly tell me what kind of smut in the manga and some scenes example? Just put it in the spoiler tags if you can.

Ah, shoujo isn't my favourite genre, but I guess I can try it out. The problem with me is that when it's a great heroine I usually love the heroine to death but I'm not interested at all at her romance with the hero. It happened to me with Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Misaki was awesome but when the manga shifted more to her romance with Usui I dropped it. Same with Shugo Chara. Only Kimi ni Todoke is the only one I was happy with because of Kazehaya. Alright, maybe I have a problem with the shoujo heroes more than the story.

EDIT: I realize I got really worked up here. So I'm editing my message:
Please, please do give us shoujo lovers a break. Due to the past shoujo animes bad sales we barely get anything now. So..getting an OVA is like a miracle. Please don't ruin the little happiness we have by trolling and bashing shoujo or teasing it. It hurts you know?

and these two manga sell very well in japan. and it has lots of fans outside japan too. by posting messages like that you will naturally enrage fans.

and yet you complain when someone bashes an anime adaptation news you love. A little advice: practice what you preach.

there are5-7 romance shounens per season.

even if you don't like shoujo, even if you hate it and never want shoujo, please, think for a moment. how would you feel if the type of anime you loved was never made again?

this is just an eg: how would you feel if moe anime are never made again? I know that will never happen but think. How would you feel if only OVAs were made. yea. horrible isn't it?

so next time think twice before trolling. don't take away what little happiness we have, please.

Would this turn out like Kimi no Iru Machi, where the character designs would stray far away from the manga.

IMO it was a good choice to change KNIM's art style for the anime version, but I was a bit disappointed that it turned out generic looking.

Words can't explain how happy I am about these two being animated (particularly Tonari no Kaibutsukun). They're actually good quality shojo mangas that don't involve some cliched helpless protagonist girls. They have really interesting developments too. Lately the only shojo-esque animes that have been being made are way too fanservice-y.

I can die happy now (after they release and I've watched them).

NUMBER ONE POST-EXAMS PRESENT. AND THE CASTS, I'M SO GLAD ABOUT THEM!!!
