| That was by far the best Fanservice episode of the Monogatari Franchise.. OMG, i freakin loved each second of this episode.. Karen is hella hot, there is a chance that she can be as hot as Senjougahara.. im totally speechless and still debating with myself if i should put Karen as one of my favorite characters. |

There is no simple formula for it but in most cases, those into incest dont have siblings or if they do they arent close with them so they dont feel like siblings. There are cases where someone is attracted because of closeness and always being sexually open for a long time while growing up. I cant be totally sure though, thats just what i know from basic psychology understanding. |

Karen's actually taller than Araragi. Then it's probably all in my head since Araragi uses the words "little" and "brat" numerous times. When i do think about it, it would really be torture. Then I hate to see you at the dentist :D It's been almost 6 hours and I still don't know how to feel about this episode. It was so erotic and kinky yet so incestuous....acknowledged incest from both parties as well too o_________o |

| I'm actualy dissapointed with the lack of Tsukihi, as I was hoping focus would be switching to her - but still, there's next week. Will the 'too close for comfort' sibling scene really brace Karen for Kanbaru? Very dodgy ending.:/ |

| Even though I enjoyed the first half of the episode thanks to the usual high-quaility dialoge and characters, this is the episode I like the least so far. Hell, this would be the first episode I could classify as "failure", if it weren't for the first half. That competition of the Araragi siblings felt completely out of place, and was drawn way too longer than it should've been, and it doesn't help matters that they went a little overboard with the incest(/fanservice) element in my opinion. The series managed to deliver fanservice in a way that doesn't take away too much from the story so far, but this episode was really lackluster in this aspect, especially how little the story advanced, even for the slow-paced storytelling Nisemono seems to sport. Not to mention that there is only three episodes left (according to MAL) from the series, and they spent half an episode on a completely pointless fanservice-showcase, rather than, you know, starting the new arc. I have watched Bakemono, and I (sort of) know that the -mono series does not seperate its arcs as roughly as other animes do, but this is a little too much, given how Tsukihi had like, 30 seconds of screen time, and her arc haven't made a bit of progress at all. Again, I wouldn't mind that much about the pointless fanservice, as (propably) how it was taken from the original material, but I think it's a little risky to do an episode like this when the series is about to end. |

Did you entirely mis what he said in the end? This whole episode was an explanation of a awkward situation that drew them closer together, it was about their relationship which before then was a very standoffish one. Its character development. It did feel out of place but it actually in all its wierdness is realistic in how someone could act. |

I don't know what the creator smoked when he thought the competition with incest undertones was proper character development, but the beginning of the previous episode featured excellent character development for Koyomi and Karen, since that was basically the turning point in their relationship as siblings in the series. I kind of understand what the creator wanted to archive with the competition, but making it fanservicey and incesty really was the only way to further these two character's development...? This kind of stuff would pass in an anime entirely dedicated to fanservice, but I see enough potential in the -monogatari series to think the creator could've find another way for character development without relying on this kind of cheap stuff. |
| This goes down in history as one of the godly episodes of anime. I have only said that about one other episode in a relatively recent anime that involved magical girls. |

Have you ever seen Bake? Heard of Senjougahara? Understand the concept of purity of essence? -Monogatari doesn't half ass anything; it's full throttle all the way. You fall behind it's not SHAFT's problem. Just because a scene wasn't to your taste doesn't mean anything but you have different taste. If you thought an incestuous approach to story telling is "dedicated to fanservice" or that it wasn't "proper character development" maybe this is your stop on the -Monogatari series? SHAFT is SHAFT. That was a very cleaver, and perhaps overly erotic, written and directed scene. I also have faith that this will relate to Tsukihi's arc in one way or another. |

Because even though Bakemono did pretty much the same thing with its arcs, they managed to dedicate an episode for a mini-conclusion to the previous arc in the first 5-10 minutes of the episode, while starting the next arc in the rest of the said episode. That is partially why I have a hard time appriciate the competition: 13-15 minutes of new arc with good progress > 30 seconds of new arc with barely noticable progress. I haven't read the manga, so I don't know how much this competition connects to the Tsukihi arc, but it seemed that the creator cheaply extended Karen's arc, in favour of a character development that was pretty much done in the previous episode with roughly the same conclusion.
