Nowadays is just more prominent and Studios know and are fully aware that visually appealing images creates more people watching your content. Of course, they still only stay if the story is good, but the first impression is how powerful you imprint in their minds how hot/how captivating the girl's cleavage is. Psychology 101. |

| I can't say anything about the state of anime boobage in general since it varies depending on what you're watching, and I barely know shit about anything pre-2000's. But I can say if a character already has tig ol bitties I don't think it's really necessary to make said bitties any tigger. |

| I don't think it's just "sex sells" or more of a reliance on Ecchi, because even in the 90s, there were a lot of characters that were sexualized or wore skimpy outfits and so on, they just didn't have the extremely large breasts that some characters have nowadays. |
