So I'm new around here. You might have seen my introudction post or some other thing I posted in the last day or so, but yeah.

I decided to get into this website to keep hip on anime I might want to be watching, since I tend to occupy a lot of my time with anime. But... the age range of anime fans can vary so much, so I thought I'd "poll" people on their ages and (for the sake of furthering understanding of the demographic) locations.

Whether or not I will be able to relate with people on this board will definitely have a lot to do with age. shrug. I realize that some people grow up fast and some people never grow up. But it's a good general thing to consider when figuring our who your peers are.

And... I'm curious if I'm "the old creepy guy" in forum full of kids, because I don't want that, not that I'm saying teenagers and such aren't welcome as well. I'm just curious how evenly its distributed here.

I'm from Texas and I'm 23.
Every time I see an English-speaker on the Internet add an honorific to someone's name, I die a little bit inside. Every time I see, "^_^," my will to carry on crumbles that much more.

Pretty much.

But many Australians are weeaboos and /b/tards too. It's unsettling. I generally find Australians online to be rather distasteful to associate with.

Well, I guess I am the creepy older guy. 23 isn't that old.

I guess a forum full of born before 1993ers is better than a bunch of lolicons. Althogh truly, I stand right on the brink as the girl sleeping next to me is born in 1991. :x. But hey, that makes her 18!

Seriously though, teens > lolicons. At least teens actually want to talk about anime. Creepy old lolicons just want to talk about perverted sex, and there is far too many Internet forums infested with them. In fact, the infestation is so deep, I know there's more than a few reading this.

Ugh, weaboos.
Absolutely hate them but this is the reality when you come to these forums, you'll know into them.
I've only hit one girl in my entire life, and I didn't regret it.
She was a freakin' weaboo.
Annoyed the hell out of me.
Freaking weirdos in the world.

Alot of the 4chan is in fact Australians. I know quite a few who still 4chan and a lot like me who just quit that junk cause it was just too much for us. Its an absolute hell hole there, don't get involved with those sad people, especially the old fags, the worst of all 4channers.

----

I'm sure you tend to hate a lot of Australians because of our humour but its just how we are.
Asians here seem to be pretty different LOL.

Best thing is, one can belong to more than one group. Even to all of them actually.

So now the question is, where does OP fit in.

none, far as I can tell. /b/ sucks (and /b/ has always sucked). not sure what a baman is.

baman is like a 'legend'. No one is sure whenever and where it will surface. But when it crosses your path, treasure it.

Okay, nevermind. I like your username.

For the love of God why to you people have to create such stereotypes just because you want to give a smartass answer?

I was born in the 80's and so are many others, i have my own apartment and my own job. Just because some of you only post at spam and never look at discussion about anime episodes and manga chapters doesn't mean that MAL is full of that.

Every forum has a "spam" forum: FYAD on Something Awful, /B/ on 4chan... always the most worthless waste of time.

Unreasonable question. Too many accounts on MAL, and not enough people even participate on the forums. Perhaps if the site kept records of ages, that might be okay, but even that's crude at best, since lying about ages is as fast and easy as a difference in a button.

And I thought demography is mostly about age-distribution. Why the heck is "weeaboo" even a valid category?

The old ones are the only ones not saying newfags, though. They actually post useful things these days. Any trolling is underage cancer. But I shall say nothing more about this topic. I feel the sanctity of anonymity being threatened with the advent of MAL. Used to be Gaia.

I'll also have a stab at answering the OP.

21 (or at least will be in a few days), female, British.

Not entirely sure what other category I am in. I know I am not weaboo, but then again most weaboos would say that.

Meh. I am just a girl who likes to read manga, watch anime and who studies Japanese.

I was referring to asians living in Australia, we tend to have a pretty weird humour you wouldn't find funny, and so do the other Australians ._.
Not generalising too much, but at times its like that.

I mean for my area, where we're known for Truck loads of asians
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabramatta

We all like to watch anime, but we'd never forum.
I'd be something rare, and when people in my area forum they're either:

Elitest pricks
Talk with horrible netiquette.

But of course there are still good people who use these forums in Australia and I don't want to hate on them because they don't deserve that.

I lol'd.
True to an extent.
Except the fact that the definition of true channer has changed.
/b/ is made up of a lot of little boys (round my age of 15) screaming for porn and spreading random websites to fap to.
Then you have the other half which is sort of dying out, the older guys, the trolls, but they sort of realised they were wasting their lives doing these weird youtube raids etc.
Pretty sad ._.
