I'm beginning to see rain a lot lately in the past few episodes I wonder if this foreshadowing for the future episodes being depressing.

Mentioning the weight-in: What happend to Joe's weight problems?

He seems to eat normally in the recent episodes, but he's still growing, so it should still be a problem...

The brawl was awesome and Joe is back on track.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

I still can't see how Joe had weight problems in general when everyone but Harimao was bigger than him, but yep, he should struggle keeping it now even more.

I like Gondo and I'm glad he's still a recurring character, but man Harimau is just too ridiculous. He contrasts so much with everything around him, and feels like something more fitting a series like for Ring ni Kakero then Ashita no Joe.

Interesting method Joe came up with, not sure if it was of any help though...

This training is a bit silly. Joe takes too many unnecessary risks to awaken his wild side.

people in discussion threads , you have to realize Joe as a character can grow and he has matured ,, but as a boxer his skills have diminished

Joe was a brawler , wild in the ring and reckless . He's lost his edge since becoming champ and witnessing the grace Jose carries himself with

He even thought he'd lose to Kim because Kim still embraced his savage side whereas Joe did not

compare it with Ippo

Ippo's coach taught Ippo have to move his hips , pivot , improved his footwork and his defense . Ippo also has multiple offensive tools to rely on besides the Dempsey (Gazelle Punch and Liver blow)

Joe has none of these tools . Joe is an instinctive fighter , so losing his wild side (animal nature) actually weakens him in his development as a boxer ,,

even if he as a human and person grows and matures

Weight is only a problem when the plot demands it so.

I know it should be obvious by now, but I love the visuals of this anime. It's not even about way ahead of its time. It has that nostalgic, indescribable feeling to it. Anyway, Gondo is an interesting character. He's kind of a representative of real-life interactions. You meet somebody once and then don't see them again for years or forever even. I wish there was a spinoff series focusing on Gondo and his Yakuza story> 3:47 AM, 19/10/24

I do gotta agree on being disappointed that they put the weight problem to the side after Joe got down for his fight. He should still have issues if he never went up in weight class. Especially since he’s gotten lazier.
