Absolute cinema! It took me 30min to get back into the story but that's where the action really started, and from then on it was a blast! Also loved the audio effects during the fight which you only get in a real cinema. The fights were as well animated as always and i can only recommend. |

Great movie. I think some parts draged to long, the flashbacks cut the pace, but very good, still what "saved" me the movie (dont get me wrong i was liking the movie, not saying it was bad, it was good, but not great) was Akaza final act. Not gonna lie, the Animation is part of what makes this movie great and it hits just diferent in the cinema, still the Animation is part of the show, isnt it? Im kinda shocked with [ spoiler]Shinobu death, falt really bad about her ending, just to be killed like that and be absoverd, damn.[/ spoiler] Despite loving this on the movies, i think it would had worked better in Anime tv series format. But lets what they can do. Until then the hypy may be a little "down". Lets see how they can keep up. Hear some things about the ending of the manga, people say isnt bad, but also isnt good. Maybe they will make it better. |

The visuals and animation are mind blowing. Beautiful. But the pacing is terrible, it will probably work much better as a series. |

Just came home from watching the movie in a cinema and animation and music were really great. The backstories were a bit much, especially Akaza's backstory took like half the movie by itself. But now I understand why they need another 5 hours to finish the story haha |

Honestly I enjoyed the Kanao Doma Part the most, Akaza flashback was great but was long, didn't really like how he ended himself but okay, 8,5/10 for me, was great experience in the movies not visually but mostly I enjoyed the sounds and atmosphere. |

Animation, animation, and more animation that’s the one thing that stood out. While the film delivered a handful of visually stunning battle sequences, the balance of character backstories and plot progression dulled what could have been awe-inspiring visuals. Of course, I went in knowing it was an action-heavy anime, so expecting deeper narrative substance would have been naive. That said, Ufotable once again proved why they’re at the top of their game. In this genre, they’ve already become a powerhouse, especially with their seamless use of 3D animation—something that often feels jarring in other studios’ works. Still, despite the technical brilliance, the overall experience fell short of my expectations. At least I can hold on to the memory of watching it on the massive IMAX screen. |

Fantastic, but Akaza arc lasted way too long. And the asspull Tanjiro did with the transparent world was ass as well. Zenitsu was awesome. Inousuke was hilarious as always. Incredible animation for this movie. It was almost like a fourth chapter of Fate/Heaven's Feel for the quality: fast action, great use of colors, the production value is the best thing of the movie. Also, I really enjoyed the emotional ride, especially with Akaza's past and resolution. This is how a final arc should be, with that feeling of hope and despair mixed together. 5/5, a great visual experience. |

film was fire.. watched this in a IMAX cinema, sound design was absolutely insane in this movie. the cinema was rumbling, especially when giyu and akaza started to fight properly or when zenitsu finished off upper six those two were the action highlights i think the pacing was often times interrupted by abrupt flashbacks to increase emotional weight but this didn't always quite hit the mark with some characters. I also felt like some could have been shorter. I think legit every single character that had a fight in this movie recieved some sort of flashback/memory or had too many inner monologues. thats like my one nitpick with the movie the rest absolutely delivered. Brought me back to the time when i watched fate stay night heavens feel in the cinemas back in the day. Ufotable just knows how to create cinema. |

I genuinely had a fantastic time watching this movie! Seeing the fight scenes on the big screen was an incredible experience that made the entire movie worth it. I was crying at the beginning for Shinobu and sobbing at the end for Akaza’s backstory. Nonetheless, an incredible film with incredible animation, OSTs and voice acting! |

A disordered mess loaded with endless flashbacks (some of which seemed never-ending). 90% of the dialogue was actually internal monologue. Every character, demon and demon-hunter alike, seemed haunted by a veritable army of ghosts. A host of characters were briefly re-introduced and then swiftly parked for the entire movie. All flash, no trousers. |

Still, shounen isn't my thing, but this was pretty enjoyable in the cinema. Flashback after flashback lolol Of course incredibly beautiful. I can't begin to guess what the $ budget here was. My favorite thing about this was the setting. The Infinity Castle. It's just too cool... I also tried something new that night, then I got an eyebrow piercing. The final scene where Akaza stops fighting reminds me of Yurippe from Angel Beats, how her deceased siblings also called for her to return home and stop fighting. <3 |

This was my first time watching an anime movie in a theatre. Even though I was very sick back then, I still watched the movie, and I have to say, it was worth every second. From animation to soundtrack, everything was just mind-blowing. Normally, I don’t like some of Demon Slayer’s CGI designs, but this time I have no complaints. Tanjiro is truly a well-written character because his traits and maturity get better with each season, and we could clearly see that in the movie. Actually, a lot of people in the theatre were cheering for Zenitsu. It was kind of surprising to me, but he didn’t disappoint this time. For the time being, the battle against Akaza was easily the best fight of the series and was very well presented. His backstory was another main highlight of the movie, and in my opinion, it felt very realistic. Okay, one thing I didn’t like about this movie was Shinobu’s fight. It was very short, and her death felt forced. I know she is not suited for big battles, but still, she is a Hashira, and we’ve known her since the beginning, so it could have been better. Overall, the movie was very impressive and exceeded my expectations. I have high hopes for the next one, but since it might take 2–3 years, I guess it’s better to read the manga now. |

Just got the chance to watch the movie in theatres today and oh boy was a good one. Probably the most breathtaking over the top epicly animated and choreographed fight scenes I've seen in a long long time!! Ufotable and everyone else who worked on this movie really knocked it out of the park!! And don't get me started on the music! From the opening to the background theme in every single battle, it was just banger after banger!! This movie was like 60% just pure raw fighting! From one battle straight into the next. Truly the best a shonen anime could offer! If I had to rate the movie soley on it's action parts it would have been a 10/10 no questions asked. But obviously we got to let the animators rest a bit. I fully understand that the entire movie couldn't have just been epic battles and that's perfectly fine. 👌 But why were the remaining 40% of this movie flashbacks? 🙃 Couldn't we have spent that time doing literally anything else? 🥲 And what's more they were the worst types of flashbacks: flashbacks in the middle of a battle and flashbacks of characters that literally just died and will never be seen again. Like don't get me wrong, Tanjiro's flashback was perfectly justified, as it actually progressed the plot and made him stronger! But what do we gain from a flashback of an enemy, who literally just died?! This is a general gripe I have with the Demon Slayer anime. Why try to get me emotionally invested in a character if they will never make an appearance again going forward? Like either have those flashbacks happen before the big climatic fight against the hero, so that we can feel empathy with the villain, appreciate the clash of ideals more and secretly hope that there might be another way for things to be resolved than them having to be killed. But no, they just slap the flashback on right at the end of the conflict when basically everything should have already been said and done. At least in Akaza's case, the flashback did indeed serve to progress the plot and give the heroes a fighting chance against an otherwise unbeatable opponent. My only issue with his flashback is that it was just too long. Made me feel like I was watching a completely separate movie entirely unrelated to the anime Demon Slayer. Meanwhile Douma's flashback, served no purpose to the progression of the battle and simply unnecessarily interrupted the flow of the fight against Shinobu. Also why was Akaza's backstory the most emotionally impactful thing to come out of this movie? Meanwhile Shinonu's death was handled like just another Tuesday... like bruh, compared to Rengoku's death, Shinobu was done dirty imo. Anyway, with all that being said, despite the stunning visuals, gotta bump this movie down to an 8/10 for me. On a more lighthearted note tho, my poor Zenitsu cut down a ranked demon all on his own and the crows didn't even mention it to anyone 😭 But when the main character cuts down a ranked demon, then everyone gets to know about it. I see how it is 😤 I demand justice for Zenitsu! ⚡️ |

@Confused_100 you don't have to take me seriously. There's no obligation to do so here. Flaskbacks are a tool for telling stories, much like any other. They can be used well or used poorly. They can also be underused or overused. In my opinion, Flashbacks were overused in this movie, just like they overused internal monologue (something anime as a whole can be guilty of/its critics often harp on). Both could have been seasoned in more appropriately and supported by greater use of character dialogue instead. I know its a feature of this anime to humanise the antagonists through flashback but I found it detracted from the pacing and the delivery of the story for each encounter, and effected my enjoyment of the Movie. Of course, your experience clearly differed. |

@Magpareddi honestly the writing was insane. All the symbolysm, the way the storyline fluctuated between people's story, the way one character's story tells another character's story without having to be specific about it... it's hard to say it without spoiling so I will leave it at that.... it's honestly beautiful work. |

Very very entertaining I am thoroughly impressed. I will say I don't support this studio's decision to drag this show out to the barest bones possible until the very last moment, but seeing the first third of this arc in theaters gave me goosebumps and I had a very good time. The three main fights were all really good. Douma's introduction is scary af and I am really intrigued by him and what his powers entail, I feel like his fight with Shinobu was a little underwhelming in terms of like, we just had that happen to get her out of the way and prove that Douma can just do that cause he's scary. We didn't get an incredible showcase of his powers, and I feel like we'd seen Shinobu previously be like in charge and strong on her own but this fight resulted in her like feeling like she was weak which like yes ultimately she was but idk, wtf happened. Kanou shows up and now she has to deal with Douma herself, but like girl what the hell are you gonna do when Shinobu got got. Something else by the way is I'm relieved there is stakes in this movie I was worried that since it was the first in a trilogy there wouldn't be crazy major deaths lol so bleh. Zenitsu's fight with Kaigaku was FUCKING awesome. For one thing I'm a little annoyed (?) that we don't know much about Kaigaku until this arc, I guess he does appear in other episodes in flashbacks but not enough for me to remember. I do enjoy the idea of there being a blue lightning user rival to Zenitsu, and FAWKKKK I loved seeing Zenitsu kick his fucking ass. HOWEVER, for a Demon taking over for Daki and Gyutaro he definitely went down too quick. For what it was worth the fight with Zenitsu was really really fun to watch, I LOVED the OST useage during this I was fucking reeling the entire time. When Zenitsu went with Thunder Breathing Seventh Form I FREAKED the fuck out I said it under my breath before it happened I was SO hyped up. Literal goosebumps. Hell fucking yeah. Now we talk about Akaza vs. Tanjiro and Giyu... holy fucking shit what a fight. Absolutely insane animation, throughout the whole movie, but specifically here was my favorite part. The OST was SO fucking good I was freaking the fuck out I had chills I had goosebumps nothing has ever compared it was so fucking insane. I love to see Giyu take action I think he's really super cool and I like his bond with Tanjiro since he was the first Hashira that he ever met. I loved seeing Tanjiro finally get his rematch and I liked seeing him use his insane power and skillset to handle him so well. It's one of my favorite things in a Shonen anime to see the hero rematch someone he once stood no chance against now wipe the fucking floor with. Insane. Loved seeing him remember more about Hinokami Kagura and employ it on Akaza and figuring out his weakness. When he cut his head off the theater gasped and when he stuck it back on someone in the group went "bruh". Bruh is right! Holy shit! He persisted even without his head!! His backstory certainly was sad and I liked that we learned more about that before he died and so he killed himself at the end. Kind of a really insane deep and nuanced character just for basically the villain of this movie. So Tanjiro and Giyu are basically out of commission for a while the fight with Akaza took so much out of them it's truly insane. Two out of the five upper ranks left are dead which leaves the chick controlling the Infinity Castle, Douma, and Yoriichi. My prediction as an anime only for how the other two movies will go is that we'll probably deal with Douma and the infinity castle maker in the next one. Maybe Gyomei and Tokito will deal with one or both. The third movie will proooooobably be dealing with Yoriichi and finally Muzan in the final battle. I'm very very excited to see how those go even though like fine I guess we have to wait a while. Kind of entertained that I'm staying anime only for this so I'm interested to see how it goes and very interested to see what Yoriichi's deal is since we know jack about him right now. Very very good!!!! Very good!! |

Akuza's backstory had me in a sustained state of silent sobbing for the whole duration. I walked out of that cinema thirsting for coffee and a cigarette. Akuza is THE BEST character. Ckea said: This is a general gripe I have with the Demon Slayer anime. Why try to get me emotionally invested in a character if they will never make an appearance again going forward? This is maybe the one thing I feel Demon Slayer actually excels at. The post-fight demon flashback layers the fight with a cooldown and a sense of tragedy. By giving me those feelings after the fight the tragedy lands so much harder. Like in this case specifically, Akuza's flashback was perfectly timed. It's what led to his decision to give up. He killed himself. It absolutely fucked me up and made me love him so much more than it would have had it been presented in any other way. That I'm led to have these feelings for a character I'll never see again means I get to love them to the end rather than see them so much I get bored of them. |

This movie was like 60% flashbacks... This should have been a season, cause this movie ends abruptly with a bunch of stuff left unresolved like what happened with Shinobu... Honestly, I feel like that for anyone who has not yet watched this, would be better off waiting for all the movies to release, and then binge watch all three together. |
