Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Season 2 Episode 4 Discussion

@TheColonel76 I've seen a few mentioning it, but its not even the same thing. Those making it sound like it is, are mistaken. Lets look at what this one has in My Darling

Cross dressing prez who becomes a host at a DIFFERENT location not in school (Ouran btw is in school) to help out others. Has a friend whom she's close too that she meets on a bench likely near the school/on the way to school who gave her a bento who knows her secret because the prez revealed it to her. Those who visit the prez as Rei the host, know she's a girl cross dressing as a boy. (Ouran those visiting Haruhi do not know this)

Now, let's look at MAL's description for the very first ep of Ouran but having seen 4 eps myself (I dropped it, didn't like it) let's see how very different it is. And b4 I post the description, let me just point out my thoughts as if u've read it. Now you cna see why I said it's not a riff, or Ouran. Just because it has a school theme and a host who cross dresses doesn't mean it's Ouran, it's not. There's other anime out there with similar themes and or that have Hosts, I can't recall the names of any but my guess is, sicne Ouran is the most known one, that's why a few people are claiming its Ouran when it's again, not. Anyway, here is the description for Oran and below it, my reason for why I didn't like the anime (but think it's an alright anime)

" Haruhi Fujioka is a studious girl who has recently enrolled at the prestigious Ouran Academy. One day, while looking for a quiet and peaceful place to study, she stumbles across a seemingly unused music room. Upon entering, Haruhi is welcomed by the members of the well-known Host Club: a club in which attractive boys amuse girls from across the entire school. However, when Tamaki Suou—the founder and president of the club—startles the bright scholarship student, she accidentally breaks an expensive vase.

With repayment looking difficult for Haruhi, the Host Club members come up with the perfect solution to the girl's problem: work for the club and ultimately become a Host herself! Mistaken for a boy by her peers, Haruhi has to entertain various female students while coping with her fellow Hosts' extravagant personalities."

Reason I didn't like it. They basically black mailed her into doing that (which is entirely different to Rei's reasons for doing it) and the anime was just ok to me, 4 eps didn't feel like the plot was moving, I wasn't a big fan of the reverse harem (I prefer in fiction boys cross dressing as girls not the reverse and also not a big fan of reverse harem to begin with, again, in fiction) but adding to that, none of the characters really stood out to me. I do get why people would like the anime, but for me, it was just alright, so I dropped it since it wasn't for me.

@_Kaorinite Interesting to hear your thoughts on it, it does sound quite a bit different than the parody here but I can see why some people are saying that’s what it’s parodying, there’s a few differences like you said but I think it’s understandable. Thanks for filling me in tho, even if you didn’t like it I still think I’ll check it out, I can get into reverse harems after all.

@TheColonel76 Oh make no mistake, I wasn't saying you or no one shouldn't watch Ouran, as it's an ok anime and I know people can and do love it which is why I was trying to be careful with my words. I think a lot of people will like it, it just wasn't for me but whenever you get around to it, I hope you're able to enjoy it. :) Others have tagged me saying its parodying not just Ouran but Maria Watches Over Us. Admittedly, I have not yet seen that anime (though it is on my PTW list last I checked) so if it's taking elements from there too and combining it with Ouran then I can see it being a parody of both, though it is noticeably different and it's own thing all the same. Heck, I'd watch an anime based on it if they ever made one.
