Decent first episode. I’m not the biggest fan of the manga from what I’ve read, and I don’t think the anime will be all that great either, but it’s still worth a watch for now. We’ll see how Bones progresses through 24 episodes. The opening slaps though.

The part when Rudo falls and says he'll kill everyone was more impactful in the manga, but I liked what I watched.

Nice to finally see a brand new battle shounen air. And the manga is in the Top 1000, so this should be a good one too (unless it ends up being a butchered adaptation of course). Apparently, this first season will be 2 cours (24 episodes) with no breaks. That's okay, but I really wish it was a long-running anime, so I'm kinda disappointed. Should've given it to Studio Pierrot. The manga is 3 years old, runs in a weekly magazine, and has over 150 chapters and is still ongoing. And we're just getting 24 episodes then have to wait for a second season. And people are like "24 episodes! Nice!". Um, no, it's not nice. 100+ episodes with no breaks would've been nice. Tired of these 1 cour or 2 cour seasons.

Also, Chiwa can go fuck herself for easily believing that he killed his dad, without hearing his side of the story first. Wasn't she close to him? Like, what possible motive would he have to do such a thing like that? She really didn't think that maybe... just maybe... that he didn't do it? She really thinks that when he went home after he gave her that cuddly toy and left, he went to kill his dad? She really didn't think that something doesn't add up or that he would never do something horrible like that? So yeah, they threw an innocent person into the pit. Makes my blood boil.

Also, I guess court trials aren't a thing? No lawyers? No judges? What about being innocent until proven guilty?

Anyway, no action yet (which is fine), so we have to wait a bit more before seeing some action.

Pretty good, I didn't read the manga, but I like the world already, something new. Animation and art are not particularly special, just fine, though we didn't have the actual action yet. 3D is also not as bad as I thought it would be, it even kind of fits this gritty, slumped atmosphere. I like that this shonen from the start is focusing on the story rather than mindless action, and I hope it will be the same in the Pit, 70% story, 30% action.

What a great first episode! I really like the world of Gachiakuta, seeing a big wall separating the two different worlds reminds me of the manga Soloist in a Cage.

I really feel sorry for Rudo, he lost everything he loves. it's time to wait for another character to appear next week.

First episode leaked.

Didn't get your fill of shounen slop with Fire Force last season? Well don't worry, something even worse has you covered this season, from an assistant of Fire Force, no less! It's pretty obvious right off the bat as well lol. Like literally, Rudo is just an edgier version of Shinra. In fact, this whole thing feels like a more try-hard Fire Force overall. The art style and direction turned up by ten and thus make them absolutely vomit-worthy. I get why people like the manga to some extent. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the art there rocks…

…but here? God, everything about the visuals just makes me want to peel my eyes out. Anyway, the whole final scene with Rudo’s sensei or whatever getting killed, and him getting framed and sent to “the pit,” ends with him dropping such a “TufF and AurA liNE” as he falls... like come on. And sheeesh, that pit must really be garbage, because the CGI we saw at the end was 100% GARBAGE. SO yeah, it's a revenge story. Greaattttt. Don't have enough of those do we.

Seriously, even as someone who doesn't like the manga either, just read it over.. whatever this is. Bones really has lost any type of sauce they used to have.

And guess what the only positive thing about this episode was, yeah, not even something visual. Nope, it was the OP song playing at the end. Not just because it meant the episode was finally over, but because damn man, that song is a straight-up BANGER.

Well good thing we won’t have to see you on the next episode! 😃😃😃

Final scene - Rudo being sentenced, I feel like they nailed everything about it, it gives a sense of desperation, of hopelessness, with Rudo spotting the person that killed Regto just before being dropped.

Very promising adaptation, let’s see how it goes from here.

The first episode was okay, nothing surprising. The animation was mediocre at times. I already knew this anime was going to feature the typical clichés of the protagonist seeking revenge, either because he was betrayed or because he was framed for something he didn't do. In this case, it's the latter.
The only notable things would be the soundtrack and the subsequent fights, which I assume will be creative thanks to the main concept of obtaining power from "garbage."

this was actually really good i like the concept and the world they live in. a lot of the scenes were corny lol but the end where he saw the killer and dropped immediately after was crazy. it was cool seeing the huge trash dump it looks so large. but the cgi monster at the end was actually shit im worried for how the rest of this will turn out now

This anime definitely has me interested. Very good first episode (despite the first few replies arguing about that lol), and definitely got me hooked. I'm very excited to see where this goes.

I always love when stories create a world, instead of just chopping some random tropes together, making a basic fantasy map, or using plain ol' Japan. Think HxH, FMA, AoT, and specifically 86 (as right now that seems most similar with the whole "pure/clean" vibe we've got going). Really, really like the effort put in to the world building so far. Hope that continues! (as it is the main thing I enjoyed)

I'm a huge fan of the art style. Yes, it's edgy, but sometimes edgy is good and I think this is a perfect example of that. There are also multiple different styles incorporated into this episode (all of which are done well), which I really appreciate.

I did kinda feel like they were feeding us the backstory w/ Rudo and Regto at the start, but it's a pilot so you gotta do in one way or another.

Overall, very very promising. This is probably going to be the "classic shonen" type show I'm watching this season, along w/ Kaiju No. 8, which I'm happy with. Hopefully I'll continue to enjoy the rest!

I’m terribly sorry for what Rudo experienced. It seems like he got into another world after being sent to The Pit.

Regto’s death was awful, just who is that killer? Also, not even Chiwa believed in Rudo anymore, if everyone knew that he’s innocent…

I hate situations where someone is wrongly accused so much. It does a great job of upsetting me and makes when they eventually get payback (I hope) far more satisfying.

I also had lots of concerns about the CGI from the PV, but it actually looks far better than I had expected.

I shit to hear Regto, Chiwa and Jabber Winger japanese voices.

Because the age vicinity between Katsuyuki Konishi and Toshiyuki Morikawa and the age gap between Regto and Enjin are obviously large amount of it, think of Bundy's Begalkeit if he have 44; what if ... Regto have from 39 to 43 ?

This same argument is valid for Jabber Wonger*¹, why they choose a voice actor younger by presence for the role ? Namely Aoi Ichikawa, Rudi Sure brec voice*⁰, have 33 years and a *⁰ who fit the role of a 15-years-old. Also Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Zanka Nijiku voice, have 38 years and without self and nor but fit the role of a 17-years-old.
They have 5 years and 37 days of gap age, and if truly/really Jabber Winger have 18-years-old see so that not set the role to a seiyū who have 2 years and half of age for *¹.

Alternate speech for Miku Itō, Chiwa voice, who is not a role✓age factor but a roles initiative; as special case of 559 (Kege no Jitsuryokusha no Naritakute/TEIM - The Eminence in Shadow) the others roles of "famous anime" are Frenika Szeski (SAO: Alicization), Miku Nakano (Go-Tōbun no Hanayome/The Quintessential Quintuplets | ATV, Movie and TVS), Titan (Takt OP), Machina Soleige (Maō 2099 ^Nisenkyūjūku^/Demone Lord ^Two Thousand and Ninety-Nine^), Nana Mifune (Gleipnir), Lumachina Weselia (Isekai Maō to Shōkan Shōjo no Dorei Majutsu/How Not to Summon a Demon Lord a.k.a The King of Darkness Another World Story: Slave Magic), Muriel Besson (Masamune-kun no Ribenji [Fukushū] /Masamune-kun's Revenge), Nono Mozunono (Busō Shōjo Makyaverizumu [Akkanatsuchiron]/Armed Girl's Machiavellian) and Adi Varma (Danjon ni deai o motomeru no wa Machigatte iru darō ka ? - DanMachi/Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon ? a.k.a Familia Myth/DanMachi – È forse erroneo cercare di chiedere un rendez-vous urtando a caso per legare con ragazze in un Dungeon) who are nice and not mean girls.

Very promising beginning. Why are they all down on recycling and upcycling? Throwing away things that are still useful? Is this an indictment of wasteful society because they treat objects like trash and eventually treat human beings like disposable trash too.

If loving and caring for an item will give it a soul then some of my stuffed toys would come to life. Ooooh. How will the cats react to this?

Good start. That girl is a fair weather friend. Hard rap rock insert songs, good OP / ED, very promising shounen so far.

This premiere was pretty good, all things considered.

The writing was sometimes heavy-handed, with the themes being really hammered down and the exposition dialogue being particularly egregious, but the world is interesting and so is the main character. As for the visuals, I mostly enjoyed them, except for the yellow filter and some of the CGI.

I'm looking forward to getting to know this universe better.

Ehh... pretty underwhelming. Between a bunch of characters being infected with bug eyes, the MC's speech impediment and barely speaking words, and everyone having a garbage (lol) personality, this will proooobably be a drop. I'll give it another episode or two but there's so many other strong hitters this season over Gachiakuta.

I have a buddy that gassed this up really hard, so of course I had to hit it lol, and damn I’m really liking it, we haven’t even seen what it’s like in the trash pit yet (besides a massive trash monster that looks like it’d be on the cover of a King Gizzard concert poster lol) but the world is already quite dark and gritty, art style goes perfectly with it too, there’s a lot to love here. Now of course there’s the issue of CGI, but as long as it’s used appropriately like in this first episode when I’m a fan of it, there’s such a thing as good CGI too after all, I think this is an example of it being good.

And I’m liking Rudo as the MC, his design is sick and I liked his moments of badassery and goofiness, bro just breaks anytime Chiwa is around lol, it’s just unfortunate his whole world crumbled with the death of Regto and not even Chiwa believing him which was such terrible salt in the wound for our boy, and I’m not sure if we’ll see Rudo get his revenge on this masked fucko before the end of these two cours but I’ll be patiently waiting for it to happen, and hey maybe he can change the world while he’s at it lol. And lastly, I really like the focus on trash and the value of items here, it’s not super thought provoking but it’s an interesting concept to go with this epic shounen anime, I’m really onboard with it.

And if that was the OP we heard at the end, DAMN that shit ripped, can’t wait to see it with visuals as well as the ED, DUSTCELL being on it has me especially excited to hear it.
