Been following the manga for this and they adapted this with that cheeky humor.

Yuki's personality is how I had expected. Stoic but also trying to be helpful while lacking some common sense. She and Hitoyoshi has similar chemistry compared to the manga. This adaptation seems to have light humor even with the assassination elements. Yuki's physical skills are joke after see glimpses at what she can do. Pretty fun stuff to watch.

I mean, we all know what a maid is. They really need not much introduction. Though, clearly our main dude is just stupid when it comes to them. Well not just maids, just his own safety in general. I mean, first he lets a RANDOM girl into his house, then he almost DIES to truck-kun, like how much more dumber can we get lmao. And this maid ain't the typical maid either, she's a full blown ASSASSIN LOL.

But don't let that maid outfit deceive you, because girl is anything BUT a maid. Just stick to assassination lol. Joking ofc, something had to have happened in her last work to make her quit obviously. What exactly happened is unknown for now, but would be happy to figure it out at some point. Clearly it must've been something bad, because girl just has no emotion whatsoever. Which makes it all the more sweeter when she did show her emotion towards that tonkatsu and it's sauce.

Was even more cute and all the more sweeter when she said she was having a dream about the sauce and how as soon as she was getting to the good parts of it, she wakes up LOL. Happens to the best of us Maid-sama. And that lap pillow... (>﹏<)(>﹏<)SO FUCKING CUTE MAN.

I'm just at a shock. Didn't expect to like this THAT much. Amazing premiere, can't wait for more. Sweet OP and ED as well.

Mangaka Shotan's rom-com about a maid who's secretly an assassin at the same time, it doesn't seem out of the ordinary at first glance.

tricot's OP is very visually appealing, though the song is rather average. DUSTCELL's ED is a lot better in balance.

A maid just suddenly barging into Hitoyoshi Yokoya's house wanting him to hire her as a servant, she shows her chops of her assassin traits...which just scares Yokoya all the more, since he doesn't need anyone of that caliber in this day and age, leaving the servant to walk out of his house. But her leaving her hair bell ornament for Yokoya to chase after her almost being Truck-kun-ed, the whiff of the moment for him to hire her as a housekeeper, might as well be, even if he has to put up with her assassination quirk, plus the fact that she can't do house duties all that well.

For the maid, anything with a knife is her forte, and Yokoya serving up tonkatsu with her shredded cabbage, she feels bliss for the very first time, even tasting the tonkatsu sauce in the dead of night that Yokoya has to serve her a midnight snack just to get by. Sure, it was just nightmares amd memories of his late mother that Yokoya is reminded of, that what was once a non-sentiment to the servant, she's learning new things and trying to be better for him...like giving him a lap pillow.

Hold on, this romantic development is too fast, but it's also too good to watch, for a premiere episode alone.
Yokoya will be treating his maid like his new family.

Hot damn! she is so adorable!

A bit of an emotional rollercoaster for a first episode, be it the traumatic past or wholesome present, every moment presented vividly, colorful & colorless.

Anyone else got Violet Evergarden vibes with the shot of her holding her belongings like that and the train passing by at the start of the episode? Close-up of the boots later on too?

Her former master and our main character are not related at all and that got my chuckling a little, lol. Definite assassin background, those sharp sniper skills, slick moves and thunder bolt! Glad that final one swayed his mind there.

Patient bocchan we’ve got here. But understandable. She’s just ringing that protect button with every move. Lovely meal together too, tonkotsu sauce is supreme!

Very entertaining interactions, I’m definitely going to like this one quite a bit. Looks like there’s some kind of historical/trauma associated with the characters, I hope they give us a glimpse of that too.

Animation is surprisingly good, especially the level up with the blades xD.

@FMmatron Right? That was literally my first thought from watching the episode xD.

The Violet Evergarden comparison is apt, lol.

No Uzamaid S2 so I gotta make do with this.

Yuki isn't nearly as competent as Tusbame, unless we talk about assassination. Still amusing.

Was hesitant about picking this one up because I wanna have a lighter load this season in terms of write ups, but no regrets here. Very fun first episode and I get some slight Violet evergarden vibes from the maid! AND OH MY GOD IT HAS A TRICOT OP, I’m literally about to cry cause tricot are one of my fave bands ever. Discovered them from looking for bands similar to Mass of the fermenting dregs, who I got to see live this week, so I’m giving this at least a 9 based off that alone 😭

What use is a maid who can only kill? I can tell this is gonna be an amazing watch man, loved this first episode so much. Every single moment. Normally the live-in romance gimmick annoys me, but in this case I think it’ll work since the author seems to be focused on the characters’ emotional development rather than fanservice. A few boob shots, but nothing crazy.

The maid is kind of a blank slate and clearly has a lot of pain in her past, and Hitoyoshi I’m sure has his share too based on how he was crying in his dreams. Living together should allow them both to face their trauma and begin to move forward. Not the most original premise, but it’s all about execution and this was a good start. Big fan of the art style and animation too.

Best parts of the ep were the maid discovering Tonkatsu sauce and the lap pillow. Hitoyoshi really saved her in both situations, showing her the warmth of life and how it doesn’t have to be this ice cold singular existence anymore. Idk man I just liked this a lot and am excited!

P.S one thing that really annoys me in these sorts of shows tho is how much of a fucking slob the dudes are. Like dawg how do you even live with all that trash on the ground that’s fucking disgusting surely you can take it to the garbage outside or something.

Star of the first episode is Katsuda Tonkastsu Sauce.

Premise so far is WTH? waiting for more back story. Not sold on the animation style yet, I will reserve judgement until I get more used to it.

Hitoyoshi is somewhat functional and remarkably empathetic toward the odd girl's feelings, compared to most anime high school boys.

Wacky combination of agility and clumsiness in Yuki.

A solid first episode, and it's been a while since I've seen a kuudere female lead in a show. The lap pillow was the highlight but seeing Yuki demolishing the tonkatsu sauce was cute.

This first episode was amusing and pretty cute.
I liked it quite a bit.
It also had a few bittersweet moments -due to the characters past- who serve well their characterisation.
The only thing I didn't like was the OP, I hope I get used to it.

Looking forward to more :)

I didn't read the source material and I just watch this show on a whim, but WOW I did not expect this one to be so freaking GOOD! I literally can't stop smiling all the way through this first ep 🥹

First of all, the OP is really unique both in terms of visual and music, and the ED though not as unique as the OP but it still has a charm to it. I really like both and definitely not gonna skip them for the entire season!
Second, I really like the character dynamic so far! Maid-sama was really stoic and oblivious but one lick of Tonkatsu sauce later and she completely melted, what more do I need to say, she's just really sweet 🥹. Meanwhile Hitoyoshi was a lazy kid that spends the entire holiday doing nothing and trashes the house, but he's not overbearingly awkward or weird or anything at all really, he's just a normal kid who actually knows some decency and actually cares about people around him, especially Maid-sama. They both seemingly had a pretty deep backstory too, but it's not clear just yet and it leaves me very curious for the next episodes!
The overall story premise is unique enough for me and it has potential to be very emotionally impactful down the line. The overall sound design and visuals are pretty simple, a bit rough around the edges but I personally find it very charming. I think the part where it shows the characters' backstory and inner thoughts was especially really good.

Overall this first ep is really charming and I'm really looking forward for the next episodes!

Nice first episode.

A High school boy and a cold but aloof assasin maid, like the dynamic. Kinda reminds me of uza maid.

MC Hitoyoshi has good positive vibrant energy, with emotional understanding and is a bit practical as well but also lacking awareness at the same time.
Then we have our maid assasin Yuki who true to her name is phlegmatic with a dark cold past which is obvious with her professional background and upbringing, not even having a name yet which is kinda sad as well. But still has a caring loving personality to her as well and the cutest goofy side to her with a touch of clumsyness.

I mean look at that adorable puppy dog face.

Hitoyoshi finally agrees to her services but not for assasination but housekeeping where she doesnt shine the most but shes learning with his help. Also got her on a hankering on tonkatsu sauce which is cute. Hitoyoshi also has some issues with the nightmares, so thats where yuki comes in giving him the comfort while Yuki's cold life will finally get some needed warmth by hitoyoshis bright and kind personality & charm. Maybe a little romance as well in the future too? :3 Also lucky boy getting his First pillow lap already.

The op had a very unique touch to it with the irl and puppet animation mix, first time hearing tricot but i really liked the music and vocals. ED was also very well done with mix of mellow and vibrant colors plus the nice catchy music by dustcell

Anyways lets see where this duo takes us, might be my comfort anime this season.

An assassin maid waifu, she's so adorable. Reminded me of Violet and would have liked it if Ishikawa Yui voiced her too as I'm not a fan of Ueda Reina or the type of characters she usually voices. Hopefully will get used to it as I was really looking forward to this anime. Checked out the manga few years back but haven't been following it cause it's monthly and was waiting for it to end but nice that we got an anime of it. Felix Film doing great with an adaptation again. Been loving their recent works. OP song was okay, like the ED more.

Very nearly didn’t pick this one, but thanks to someone in a discord server I ended up going with it, and I am so glad I did, this was an awesome start. Looks like a lot of folks are comparing this to Violet Evergarden, and I am ashamed to admit I have not seen that lol, but for me this is reminiscent of a show we had just last season, being “My Wife has no Emotion”, we have a very similar setup here with the maid babe being an oddball type who doesn’t really emote much, and she’s living with our MC Hitoyoshi and helping him out as his maid, and to top it off this is also a Saturday show so it’s like I’m getting the void filled that was left when that show ended, very happy to have something close to it so soon.

But looks like this maid has a very rough past, we got teased with it in this first episode but it’ll probably become more relevant later down the line, I’m hoping this one can stay wholesome most of the time tho. But man, you’re telling me Hitoyoshi was just living like that with trash all around his house, that had to smell terrible lol, ain’t no way, but hopefully he’ll live better from now on with his new cute and deadly maid. And the art and animation is also very nice in this show, that scene where our resident maid threw those knives looked amazing, but one thing I am a bit iffy on is the weird translation of “Meido-sama”, they even hop back and forth on whether she’s a servant or maid in the subs lol, it’s a small nitpick but yeah I’m not calling her Ms. Servant.

And wow, what a great OP and ED, I’ve never heard either group before but both the songs were great and the visuals were beautiful and unique, I think they’ll both be favorites of mine this season.

I underestimated this so far. The art style choice for ending is definitely fitting, I'll need to see opening again but at least it's nice to see that style occasionally, I don't like it personally, but it's nice to see sometimes since rare.

5/5, the very brief flashback made me think Ms. Maid is his sister who left with his mom. It's really hard to tell as we got very brief and minimal information, however, I would assume the reference here is like "damn I really did some damage to you girl, try to recover working for this kid".

Animation isn't terrible relatively speaking, and of course it's basically another cute girl doing cute things anime, but still a fun watch. High school boy not knowing how to act gets very old, but whatever, it is what it is for this kind of show.

So many of the typical tropes right out the gate, but ya know, the bad-maid/assassin thing was funny enough to hold me for anther episode at the very least.

THANKS MAL FOR SPOILING ME ON HER NAME FFS (gonna refrain from putting it in any forum posts until its actually mentioned)

Overall other than that annoyance this was a great episode this entire episode I couldnt tell if Yokoya was just hella tiny or Ms servant was just hella tall. I've actually been wanting a show with this plot for a while where you have a guy living alone with a maid no fantasy tropes or anything else so this is very welcome.

It seems almost like this will be the Rehabilitation of Ms servant to give her a proper life again and emotions. So I'm assuming Yokoya's mother and father divorced and the mother took his sister just based of that one shot of his dream.

Also as sweet as those last moments where with the lap pillow I refuse to believe the sun was coming up at 3am but I think it was just the moonlight (or god) shining down on them.

This show so far is really cute and adorable Yokoya and Ms servant are hella cute I hope a character don't get introduced and ruin their dynamic.

Not really sure of what kind of show this will be, But whether its a romance or not I don't mind

VERY strong start, Second best show so far of the fall season just behind acro trip

Unfortunately a bit on the nose for me with some of the things it tries to do or express. Now the two main characters themselves do feel somewhat interesting, but really its the maid who's an ex-assassin that really set up a lot of the potential intrigue for the show. The comedic feel of the show is bubbly and occasionally inspires some smiles here and there. The tone of the it's pilot episode is warm overall, but also at times brooding. Some dark drama may be expected at later episodes, but for now its all warmness.

Overall its an ok show, but I am not quite sure if its within my criteria for shows I can give my time to. I will give it 2 more episodes and see where things go for these two.

I loved this episode, and this scene in particular has become my all-time favourite. It’s wild how it tries to capture that cold sensation that just takes over her body. For a brief moment, she seems wrapped in a warm feeling. But then, out of nowhere, a deep, dark shadow creeps in, pulling along heavy thoughts, and an overwhelming chill that seeps into every corner of your being.

It’s almost like that tiny spark of hope, that slight conviction that everything’s going to be okay, gets snuffed out under the weight of rejection. And whatever the reason behind that denial is, it unleashes a flood of complex emotions, layers upon layers of feelings that drown you. She wants to trust in that moment of warmth, but the cold is relentless, and it always drags you back into its familiar, icy embrace.

It’s heartbreaking. That back-and-forth between hope and emptiness, between what’s right and what’s uncertain, like rejection isn’t just a word, but a place. A place we return to when the warmth fades, a shadowy refuge where the cold knows us better than anyone else.

With many big shows airing today (Bleach), I felt like this show went somewhat under the radar.
