Damn, Will is presented as an underdog again, at least based on credits when comparing to his classmates.

We did get to see a look at what his daily life is again including his part time job. Episode still had aura of arrogance when Will becomes a target for humilation. This episode generally made me dislike Julius for his ego and poor treatment of Will. Luckily, Will can stand up for himself but I'd like to see a proper fight between the two.

Oh Will...

Ya know, I had faith in Will somewhat, but to figure out that this dude hasn't even accumulated 5000 and he's in his final year does make my faith go down. Like by a lot. Then we got Julius, the typical bully/person who only purpose in existing in this series is strictly to hate on Will because he's magicless. Him aside, there's being talks about some tournament happening. Tournament arcs are some of my favorite arcs in shounen, so I have high hopes.

I might have lost faith for Will, but I still feel kinda bad for the kids. I mean, if he's not busting his ass off working, he's studying or at least, trying to do his best to get those points up. And he can't even catch a break from getting strays even at work, because the prick himself, Julius arrives. Not even surprised on the fact that he's racist towards the dwarves. He just seems like that type to be racist just because everyone else is doing it. Same thing with Will. He hates him legit just because everyone else does. And it's not even that everyone hates him like he does, he just has such a massive ego. I would say Will stood on business, but idk would he let him pull out the wand. He could've react way before he even thinks about it.

I think that as I get older, I find this whole 'rivalry' thing less cool and more cringe ngl. But I still can't wait to see him get defeated... somehow.

Wow This girl found a secret basement. students gambling there huh ๐Ÿ‘€. Will got stuck in the dwarfs partying ๐Ÿ˜‚. That blue hair boy he's too prideful and arrogant don't like him tbh. His lackeys are cowards yk that. Ooh heck yeah ๐Ÿ”ฅ Will knocked those lackeys down in instant. Tick for tack. Our Boy he's going to defeat that arrogant student for sure (can't wait for the match)๐Ÿ”ฅ.

Finally we’re back! That was a long two weeks without peak.

Would not be a Wistoria episode if Will wasn’t being disrespected by some snobbish elitist prick. This week it’s Julius and his goons who showed up at Gia’s tavern. The absolute nerve of them to not only disrupt the place, but insult the dwarves and will. I’m glad will at least got to shut Julius’ lackeys up, but sadly we have to wait for the festival to see him beat Julius ass.

Actually probably a good thing because like Collette said, the watchers will be there and if Will impresses it could be big for him. A bit of world building that caught my attention was will’s mention of the dwarves fleeing to this world from theirs and something about the celestial host.. so there’s multiple worlds in this universe with different races.. interesting.

Action wasn’t as good this week as the first two eps, but I reckon they’re setting something special up for next week.

Nothing like a good old tournament arc in a battle shonen where our underdog protagonist shows the world what's his worth. We've seen it million times, but somehow we still want to see it again.

Show continues to look good and the music towards the end was really nice but the story and characters being this boring continues to hold this show back a lot, including Julius who was introduced in this episode. The world building with the dwarves at the bar and their dishes was alright.

People around him: Hold on. Get your insults first and then proceed with your thing. Otherwise, there’s no point of us being around here.

Like seriously lol, why can’t we have one single minute without this series constantly reminding us how much of a victim the main guy is. That blue guy who is among the only three with over 10000 credits should’ve had nothing at all to do with the dude, but yeah, he too somehow knows him and bullies him around, just because… that’s the only thing the rest of the characters in this series are written for.

Here's what I predict, Will's gonna do good in that magic festival, he won't totally dominate but he'll do good. And qqeveryone will see how someone without magic can have that much physical strength, however, somehow someway, people will still look down on him just cause he can't use magic. And ice boy? They're gonna be friends. Look how red hair malfoy is warming up on him.

I'm also getting pretty tired of Will being useless until he is absolutely forced to act. Didn't tell the teacher "testing" him that he needs his sword and would have just lost without help, let a couple background characters stop him from fighting the golem with taunts he's probably heard a million times, and despite knowing that he has literally no hope of graduating or ascending besides through the tournament, his plan is to just not even bother? Does he need to wear his goggles 24/7 to find his balls?

As addictive as this show is, it never fails to amuse me with shows like this with the usual trope where the underdog MC defeats all types of dangerous opponents but is still treated like an underdog every single time. Like what more is Will meant to do to be taken seriously in that school ๐Ÿค”

New characters and ofc there's gotta be more annoying piece of shit. Will finally got angry this time though as they didn't insult him but people he cares for. He's the type to get angry for others but not for himself. Btw Kiki's so adorable, I gotta find one. Colette pouting was cute as well.

Why doesn't demand more than apology but to also kick him in the arse?

This schtick of not being able to use magic is tiring. I am eagerly waiting for him to learn how to use magic. Perhaps in season 2 if ever that arrives.

Will is struggling to get enough credits so he can advance to the upper institute. Hell he might not even graduate let alone advance. Without having magic is a miracle hes managed to scrap together as many credits as he even has. Those tests he was in are completely unfair and geared toward magic use, which makes sense because it A magic school but even so I wish Will could've gotten his sword for the exam. We did get to see some other very powerful students. Julius being one whom inspires immediate hatred for his treatment of Will. Its absolutely despicable the way these arrogant jerks talk to Will, I hate seeing it. We did learn about this magic festival coming up. A place where students can show off their talents to get scouted, joining one of the Magia Vander groups. It could provide a great place for Will to show off how strong he is despite not having magic. Will has a great work ethic too as we've seen, this episode showing he's not only got his paper route but also works at this tavern after school too. Everything going nice until Julius walks in, talk about arrogant scumbag there with his sycophants. The way they treat the dwarves is heinous, it made me so mad. I'm happy that Will didn't let that slide since the dwarves themselves cant do anything given their social standing in this world. Will didn't show any fear and therefore eliminated any satisfaction Julius could've gotten from tormenting him. I'm ready to see them really face off in this magic festival!

7200 of 12k credits to become a Magia Vander by advancing to the Upper Institute, that's a pretty high bar for those who can use magic. That's everyone EXCEPT Will, as the tournament arc heats up.

The eve of the biyearly Grand Magic Festival where it's a tournament between different factions, Will already has his fair share of standing out for all the wrong reasons during his 2nd Year, though thankfully he has Colette to help back him up. And within the midst of the trainings, a secret stairwell at the lockers to an underground gambling bunker to root for who will come out on top, and Sion gets all defensive amongst the caliber of the greats who already stand out for their skills.

Will really doesn't care about all of this, and rather just wants to work at Gina's dwarf tavern to pay off his tuition, with his roommate Rosty helping him out. But just as Sion treats Will all the same from before, Julius Weinberg is yet another one who lingers an even worse impression being one who doesn't care much for the inferior race like dwarves. And the ice mage refutes back at Will's insult, though the latter doesn't give way, and accepts Julius's wage to enter the Grand Magic Festival to face off their bout.

I think I echo the majority's sentiments that Wistoria is just teetering on the point of being average, it's just DanMachi but not executed well, it's decent at best.

@ajw215799 How would you know hes badly written ?

How is a battle shonen protagonist who doesn't wields his power for his own benefit, but uses it only when those close to him, or for the people in trouble a badly written in a battle shonen ? He shows restraint, because that's what a mature person does.

Do you even understand what you are watching ?

Ok so you need 7200 credits to advance to the upper institute and you need to do that to become a magic vander but you don't become a magic vander when you get 7200 credits

Bro really just set himself up to be humiliated. Anyway, Julius isn't going to be the top 3 anymore he's going to get wrecked.

I hope the other 2 the wind and electric mage aren't going to be the same just arrogant bully character types.

I really hope the story isn't just constantly going to be this Will gets underestimated because he can't use magic and then he uses a sword and they realize how strong he is because that's all that's been going on so far.

@Dukino And why you're still moving around acting like a janitor telling people not to watch or say what they want about your cartoons? Every second character in the show bullying him just for the sake of it is the problem. It adds nothing to the story, except glorifying his sad status around everyone.

Reading hundreds of fan fiction on Wattpad isn't what gaining real life experience means, so please go outside your room once in a while or perhaps you're so busy recapping you're not even watching the show.

Will's passiveness crossed the line into being just aggravating this episode. Is his life's goal to climb the tower or not??? He clearly has nowhere near enough credits to graduate, and the tournament/getting scouted seems like a potential way to bypass the credit requirement, but Will is initially content to just...give up and forgo any possibility of achieving his dream??

Also, why exactly isn't Will allowed to use a sword on campus? The headmistress, professor Workner, and now even Edward have recognized his physical skill and right to be at the Academy. Mages can bring wands (weapons) to their tests, so Will should be able to bring his sword.

Idk, I want to like this show, but the mix of having Will simultaneously be the weakest and (one of) the strongest is not written well. I was hoping for the tiniest bit of personal growth by now, or at least more building on the events of the past episodes. I'll probably watch for one more episode but if the episode formula remains the same...

is the animation quality dropping bit by bit I mean not the animation but the character structures. They even stopped with the cinematic angles and ultrawides. I mean the only reason i gave it a 8 was because of the cinematic views.

it might drop for the whole episodes from now on just for it to get better during a few minutes fights just what happened in the suicide squad isekai. I mean I woul then rather continue with the manga atleast the quality is consistent.

Wow, didn't expect the show to pull the arrogant bully asshole card twice. Not only does it have no unique ideas of its own, it now copies itself. Incredible. Also kudos for creating more one dimensional characters. Am *so* looking forward to the whole world bending backwards to allow Will to rock an event where he does not belong because he can't use magic. And then he can get scouted so he can later be reuineted with miss boring, Elfie.

I think the author's intention is, since 4 factions already have their favorite students (top 3 + sion) so how can Will overcome this? By making him win against the ice faction's favorite, and ice faction's leader also happen to be Will's childhood crush, this situation created by the author will help Will getting closer to his girlfriend faster and in a natural way.

I mean... why did he hold back his punch? I love this show overall, but the insistence to have his character just incapable of fighting when people point out he's not using magic... it gets old real quick. He literally doesn't have a choice, he can't use magic. Why the fuck is he hesitating? What's he supposed to do, shit out a spell?

EDIT: Why did I have to skip 3/4 of the epsiode to get to anything that was relevant again? Was there even anything worth watching there? I skipped in like 2min increments, I sure didn't see anything that seemed worthwhile...
