Well look no further than his other work now finally in anime form... an Isekai.... Pulled into an otherworldly adventure with cute sidekicks and superpowers, you’d think author Osamu Dazai hit the jackpot. But for this writer, who would literally prefer to drop dead, it's anything but a dream come true. Yanked into a fantastical world in 1948, a time before video games even existed, Osamu just wants to find a quiet place to meet his maker, not to rack up XP. Unfortunately, his poetic dream of a perfect demise is constantly thwarted by inconvenient heroics, leaving him stuck in one fantastical adventure after another. So we have a suicidal nonchalant writer who wants nothing more than to kill himself with this one female huh.... LMAO. Dude already has a harem to with not only the girl from the pervious world, but that furry and priestess that's just.... obsessed is a good word ig. Though can i say that this s easily the dumbest but also smartest implementation of truck-kun yet.. like yeah in the middle of nowhere a random truck-kun appears... and they explain because that's how this world and isekaing works. At least truck-kun has a MAJOR role this time it seems, as if it didn't already lol. A fun start, and now it's off on a journey to find Sacchan and commit double suicide! |

Im not sure if it can be something interesting its straight up basic isekai with a little bit different type of main character. |
| Most generic Isekai come from LNs...but for mangaka Hiroshi Noda whose anime adaptation so far is Spring 2022's decent rom-com of Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de a.k.a Love After World Domination, his 2nd anime of this show: Isekai Shikkaku, based NOT on a LN but a manga...thankfully is NONE of that. Kashitaro Itou's OP is good, just the way I like it. Combine Isekai with traditional characters like Osamu Dazai, plus the out-of-nowhere Truck-kun in the mix, the failed author who only has Sacchan by his side, and his pills because he just wants to relax and someone who's on the verge of a double suicide, being a total weakling. The elf goddess who guides adventurers on their way to the fantasy world, is rather flabbergasted by his lack of awareness after being chosen by Truck-kun who avoided his double suicide. Most certainly, after having seen other countless summoned adventurers being in the same OP vein, this is the first time she's encountered someone who's a failure, yet someone who, she can't afford to miss out with. With his poison pills, Sensei seeks out to the world...only to see a furry girl being fanserviced and manhandled by a Death Tree, he joins in with his nonchalance and seemingly wanting to die so badly. But as it turns out, his willlingness to die, decayed the Death Tree with his poison, thereby earning him some level-ups. But his thread of fate with Sacchan being severed, Sensei is now obsessed with finding her, going back to the goddess to recruit her into his KonoSuba-esque group. In the bed of generic Isekai LNs this season, this show is a LEGIT masterpiece compared to the rest of what's offered so far. I'm surprisingly having fun with this one. Also, with studio AtelierPontdarc having produced Summer 2022's Isekai Ojisan, this show is in very good hands being in the exact same humoristic manner. |

| pretty mediocre, manga was well rated so i said to myself maybe but this is as good as that suicide squad isekai at this point (which is really awful), maybe its just not for me i don't even have the strength to give it another chance... |

Hm not sure how I feel about this. | @kirA_-_ I think the point of the cat girl and boobs is to emphasize that this is not basic isekai. The whole idea is that this world seems almost custom-made for horny shonen isekai protags but our guy is built different and having none of it. Heck, the guide Annette has these massive oppai, and Dazai notices and compliments the shape of her ears. He is indifferent to the cat girl (in the suspiciously maid-like outfit) in the hentai situation right next to him. I think we're going to see a lot of tropes solely for the sake of subverting them. |
 Truck-kun got two for the price of one. And the lore surrounding him was pretty meta. About time isekai would adress this phenomenon. Well, I'm usually enthusiastic about parodies and this one is pretty unique even among these. |

| Definitely wasn't expecting truck kun to suddenly appear out of nowhere there. They even made a meme out of it. Dazai's sucide went wrong as expected and it was hilarious to see him in another world and his interactions with the elf and catgirl. Anette even fell for him already. She's been amusing so far. Also wasn't expecting this to have fanservice but I ain't complaining. Fun first episode, should be a fun watch. |

| There's probably no bigger sin than an unfunny comedy. This one in particular feels like the creator was throwing darts in order to mash up whatever ridiculous setting each one landed. At least other run of the mill isekai try to be funny, or witty even using low production values. This one is just a waste of decent animation and good VAs for nothing. This is my first seasonal drop. |
| Seasonal isekais are as unimpressive and unoriginal as one could be, but hey at least this show is trying, which of course doesn't make it any better by default, though this is worth checking out for a few more episodes. |

| It was better than I was expecting. It'd be interesting if they went the somber route, because, as it stands, it could go either way (tragedy or comedy). They somehow managed to make me sympathize with Dazai, something I never thought possible for a suicidal main character. He just wants to have a poetic death with Sacchan and everyone around him is just annoying. 🙁 He never asked to be isekaied, he's not pretentious or arrogant like most Other Worlders. What I'm getting from this is that Dazai lived his life and he is now happy to die, as long as it's with Sacchan. Why would a truck or elf or god have the right to decide if he gets reincarnated? This story has the potential to explore questions like this, that you don't usually think about when watching an isekai! Even if they choose comedy, the setup allows for many good jokes. What matters to me going foreword is that they commit to one of the two. I watched the episode with the mindset described above, but I feel like I would enjoy it just as much with the opposite one. That duality, though, is not sustainable. (Seeing the tags it's clear which one wins in the end and I'm not too sad about it, as long as they do it right!) |
| Well I’ll be damned, this was a lot better than I was expecting. The third work from kimisen’s author and the follow up to last season’s God’s games we play which was the worst show of the season and a snoozefest, I expected a cookie cutter isekai but this was actually a nice change up on the formula. BSD meets Konosuba? Went into this totally blind so as the episode went on I’m like wait, that’s totally Dazai with the suicidal gimmick 😂 even in this show he can’t get his perfect suicide because of the isekai set up. Where’s Kunikida when you need him? This is also the first time I’ve ever seen an isekai with an actual historical figure too, so props to Sazane sensei for doing something different. I loved the first meeting between Annette the Goddess and Dazai. Dude’s trying to commit suicide mid speech with the pills and she’s just totally shocked. Years and years of welcoming heroes to this world, but never one who tries to kill himself off rip. Understandable she’d become disillusioned with her job given the type of people she was running into. Seems like the most arrogant and pretentious people got isekai’d.. and then you have Dazai who couldn’t care less about it lol. The tree scene is an example of what could make this series special. You have your traditional fantasy tentacle rape trope, but instead of Dazai getting flustered or even trying to save cat waifu, buddy is just in awe at how beautiful a dying woman looks and even tries to join her 💀 some.. convenient camera angles there too. Most people’s motivations for being isekai’d are starting a new peaceful life or gaining glory, Dazai just wants to find sacchan and commit double suicide properly this time 😂 this is gonna be a fun ride and the girls are hot af |

| This apparently historically accurate Osamu Dazai anime has a beautiful aesthetic, a fantastic VA for the protagonist, and an overall great start. And unlike in Bungo Stray Dogs, Dazai gets his double suicide with a beautiful woman he loves and who loves him and—wait, it didn't count cuz it was by a truck?! Not just any truck, but the super specific Other World Selection Truck that delivers its victims to the isekai genre. I love the parody of it, and I like how the isekai protag has a goal that isn't "save the world", "defeat the demon lord", or "form a harem." I'm usually not a fan of isekai, and yet this season I'm watching two. :) |

"Other World Selection Truck" it was hilarious that they turned the often used "Got reincarnated after being killed by a truck" trope into a tool for forced transportation by the truck of the "gods". It seems like the "gods" are not happy with his "I want to die" state of mind and want him to experience life. Never seen an isekai where the MC kills himself right after being transported, that was a good joke. Also funny he chose to sleep in the coffin, this guy is all about death. "Girl with the beautifully shaped ears", I think that made an impression. hahaha The face the Cat Girl makes when she see right through the Elf was perfect. It was an ok first episode, so I'll keep watching. |

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |

| Holy shit, never expected we would get actual truck-kun lore!!! Bro just wants to die. Is that too much to ask :(? Maybe the guy's in hell? Some religions state that people who kill themselves go to hell, so the guy may be suffering for eternity here. Wanting to die, but not able to. Yeah, wonder what happened to Sacchan? It'll be funny if at the end turns out truck-kun sent her to a totally different world. |
