Whoa, it looks like demons appeared from that crack in the sky. It's crazy how a normal day turned into this mess. What's also more interesting is about the origins of the demons themselves.

That tear in the sky really changed the vibe of this episode. Demons and humans appears to have a deeper connection after all.

The boundary break in the sky has Oni falling through the cracks, thwarting both humans and creatures alike. And if anything, this is not a time to despair as Buchio has Takumi to protect, and this spatial disruption has caused immense panic everywhere. Both Jiro and Tazenbo have to do their duties as Tengu avoiding the Oni who are perceptive to fear, as much as everyone else is doing the same.

To think that this A06 Niente a.k.a Naught is very similar to the Void, Mamoru in his chibi form tries to talk to the Oni, leaving his wife Sanae to save him out of trouble, assisted by Mutsumi with Jiro's fire stone magic, it isn't enough to stop the Oni from trampling over Mutsumi's family, of which Jiro feels the shivers enough for Tazenbo to release him back to their safety. Unfortunately for Sanmoto, his predictions may be right now, but he has no power to stop the Oni...which Buchio had to transform back to a human just to save Takumi. The calamity awaiting everyone is what Sanmoto fears the most, with the Oni being appetizers. Especially with one of the Oni displayed as Mamoru, he has finally come home and reborn as a person...though that's only enough to quell his (soma) spirit.

A world invertion, this is just about as worse as the world could get.

Wow this episode was so intense with the boundary break and the Oni on the rampage. It was heartbreaking to see Mutsumi's dad return home albeit briefly and with his spirit not yet at peace.

I can't believe this show went full-on apocalyptic.

It's unclear to me what exactly is happening with human-form Buchio, the weakened Sanmoto-san and all the youkai. Especially with Mut-chan's dad; "Ma-san" is what's left of his wish to come back home, but so is the oni? When they touched, the whole person manifested somehow..? But it was only temporary, and the "person" that was originally an oni disappeared? What happens to Ma-san now?

Hope they wrap things up in a satisfying way in the finale next week.

Ok what? So we got Oni falling from the sky but they used to be people? The gods/spirits are all disappearing. Volkswagen going first. Weird how some are being affected while others seem totally fine. Like the Tengu and the cat spirits are totally fine but the other ones aren't. I wonder how they're going to wrap everything up next episode or will there be another season?

No matter how much I had been prepare for this Earth-shattering episode for this past week, I'm still not ready for it. And look like I also won't be ready for the final episode.

Question: WTF are Japanese train seat cushions made of? Taira stunned the hell out of that oni with 1 hit.

It's sad that the disappeared people came back as monsters. Momoru is a bit confounding. It's like Ma-chan has his emotions but the oni had the memories. Weird.

Takumi running from safety to Wagen took years off my life.

boy that did escalated quickly. I didn't expect this becoming an world ending event, or at leas to the yokai.

I hope it gets resolved and there aren't more victims.

This is the best anime of the whole season, undeniably so. It's a crime that it hasn't gotten any major attention because the animation is great, the plot is great, and the characters are unique and amazing.

I hate that it'll be over next week. I hope for, perhaps, a second season.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.

This episode is tense from beginning to end, the oni invasion is not being easy to contain even with the tengus on the human side, this last episode that awaits us next week promises a lot, now the scene with muchan's father returning, oh my god, Wow I'm crying even now, what an incredible anime.

First, fantasy became sci-fi thriller, then horror, and then disaster film. Damn, this story changes genres faster than Heppoko Jikken Animation Excel♥Saga. Also, don’t say that they killed the gay Volkswagen man.

how does this Anime keep getting better and better each episode?

Sanmoto-san having avatars all around the world is cool, I thought the one in england was him and he just got back when he was with Buchio.
and we finally got Buchio's human form!

So if I get this right, the Naught is probably the Void where people get sucked in and they are either reborn as a Yokai (if they have strong feelings/desire like returning to their loved ones?) while some parts of them are left in the void and becomes an Oni?
The yokai are starting to disappear, and even Jiro is starting to feel unwell.
also we dont know what caused the Rift yet right? or I just forgot it...

@Aleksu
It's unclear what caused the dimensional rift to appear in the first place but the inversion of the world's order that's currenty underway is being triggered by the will of the universe, or so they say.

The appearance of Oni dropping into the world and terrorizing the populace was something I didn't see coming from those rifts.

We also saw Mutsumi's dad return home, but it was inevitable he wouldn't stay. Still, he fulfilled his wish to come back, even if he couldn't truly experience it.

I had no idea what to expect, but that certainly wasn't it!

But it was an amazing episode! World-ending threats just hit a lot harder if they invade a Slice of Life show that usually has a peaceful atmosphere.

And I loved the scene with Mu's family and Ma-chan. I hope he can keep his memories at least.
