This episode was pretty fun, maybe not for Senshi and their party though.

They did have to to deal with a monster in the waters after all. Plus, I think this episode is also quite fun to watch seeing Marcille putting her skills to use. The food was unique and it looks like their party loved it. Good for them. Hard work pays off.

I guess it’s a tad too late to start caring about how you didn’t wash your hairs for quite a while here, Marcille. I mean y’all been wandering this dungeon for some time now, and this coming to someone now of all times is kind of hilarious. Though yeah, when you see people like Senshi who, most probably, never even gave the slightest bit of thought to mend his own beard, this is nothing.

But hey, courtesy of that Kelpie, one way or the other they did wash themselves, though have to say, for a bit that segment with Kelpie kind of evoked some feelings, until Laios and Chilchuck brought the usual tone in the picture once again lol. Again yeah, please no operas sort of stuff when Laios is around lol. Also, since they already are pretty much deep into the dungeon level, it kind of goes without saying that monsters this huge... yes, that octopus/squid lookalike, Kraken, would show up as if it's the most normal thing.

The entire segment with the group trying to take that thing down was cool, but like the tradition is, they did eat that thing afterwards lol. At this point, these people could care less about the size or even the kind of thing they're consuming. If it moves, it's edilble.

Also, for a real fanatic when it comes to eating stuff, Laios never having eaten octopus really felt odd lol.

That Kelpie was definitely in it for the long haul with its scheme.

Laios and the gang reached the fourth floor, facing a daunting lake obstructing their path. To traverse it, they required water-walking magic. However, Senshi, skeptical of magic, adamantly opposed the idea. Instead, he suggested an unconventional plan: riding Anne, an aquatic horse known as a Kelpie, across the lake. Laios hesitated, expressing concerns about the peril involved, unsure of the intentions lurking beneath the surface.

I really liked that twist they threw in there. Even a seasoned adventurer could fall for a monster's charm, especially those cute ones that seem all innocent and friendly, making it all about everlasting friendships and whatnot. Those annoying corpse revivers, though—what a pain. And yeah, Marcillle might've had a point this time; getting into the whole parasite-eating thing feels a bit over the top, doesn't it? Or was it that weird tofu-like block from earlier that turned out to be a parasite?

Phew. But anyway, seafood sounds pretty tempting right now... I could really go for some calamari or something.

  • All the small episodes in the show seem incomplete. (horse, novices, etc.)
  • The protagonist's team earned another grudge from the novices by eating their food. and they didn't revive them again. It seems kind of forced drama.
  • The protagonist got what he deserved; anisakis or something.

Oh, a Kelpie! There was one in The Ancient Magus' Bride too!

12:08 - 12:10 *deep breath*
"They have enough intelligence to use a spear"
"Did they make the spears themselves? They can forge?"
"Arms that look like humans'"
"There are 5 fingers"
"But the head is totally like a fishes..."
"For some reason seaweed that looks like human hair"
"The body is completely a fish"
"Eating it like a grilled fish..."

Really cool episode! This world is so damn interesting and detailed, I loved the talk about the ecosystem. iirc many moments from this episode were in the trailers (and the ad for the manga that came out a couple years back).
But I really want to see the other party interact with the main cast now.

Damn, I really want some seafood now...

This episode has a little bit of twist. I thought they're gonna eat the kraken, turns out they eat kraken's parasite instead.

I love the sound effect when the cooking is finished.

The start of misunderstanding between Laios and Kabru's party and it's those guys fault.

Laios traumatised those poor mermaids for life lol. Senshi and the kelpi part was touching but also reminded us of the true nature of monsters. Otherwise we got to know more about the ecosystem of the dungeon which were interesting and some cool action too. Also it finally happened, Laios's habit of eating everything monster related came to bite him back. Doubt he'll change though but atleast he'll be somewhat cautious right?

Fluffy fuzzy Senshi.

Kabru's party somehow got to the floor faster than Laios. That's some serious speed.

The siren's singing getting progressively more off key as soon as Laios started "covering" her song was easily the most I've laughed from this show so far lmao

Floofed up Senshi is a gift Marcille will probably never be appreciated enough for.

There was so much shit going on in this episode lmao. I guess that's par for the course when adapting 3 manga chapters (14-16).

Anyway, more Senshi panty shots for this episode lmao. The Animation is great as always.

I fucking love when Laios tried to sing with the mermaids lol. I was laughing so much. He was so defeated that they didn't let him finish! 😔

Honestly, I'm really enjoying these characters. It's like a good sitcom cast. Everyone has great chemistry together ❤️.

I tried to grow a beard before not that long ago, much shorter than Senshi but I hate the fact that every time I ate a soup or anything with a sauce, some of it gets to my beard that's why I shaved it; besides grooming it is such a drag. Laios actually consider eating the fishman, revolting. The mermaid wince when they heard Laios singing. That party got wiped out again, there's no way they were the one who's going to clear the dungeon. They probably going to get leech on by those hoodlums again. Laios didn't hesitate to eat that parasite raw, now, he got a parasite poking at his stomach. He must learn a lesson now after that night, otherwise he's an idiot. But actually, trying to grow that plant I say his, an incorrigible fool. It feels weird that they don't eat the kraken though. They could at least reserve some.

Ah the ethics of eating a demihuman that's technically more removed from human than the mammals we typically eat... tbf I would've been okay with eating the fish, too, tho it's sweet of Chilchuck to avoid telling Marcille where the fish eggs came from ^^

Eating the parasite just seemed a bit too icky, but it's cool that they cooked it to the point that it resembled regular seafoody meat. Laios ingesting raw parasite was hilariously dumb, what a lesson to learn XD

Laois had me laughing out loud throughout the whole episode. From trying to sing along with the sirens, to getting a taste of karma after eating raw food and getting a parasite inside his stomach, this guy certainly knows how to put a big smile on my face! =D

The others also had their amusing moments as well. Senshi and Marcille being at odds with each other was something I didn't expect, but it was nice to see them work together in defeating the kraken, which led to another tasty cooking segment.

Not only that, but Senshi looked at his best when his huge beard looked all fluffy. It'll probably won't happen again, but I only wish his beard stayed fluffy for longer...

Was Laios singing the song because he liked it? Or was he trying to cancel out the mermaids charm?
I love de duo between Senshi and Marcille, where he wants everything done through hard work and no shortcuts and she just wants to use magic for everything because it does makes things easier, so why make life harder on purpose?
And also the duo between Laios and Chilchuck, where Laios is always down to eat anything and Chillchuck is always very opposed to it. Even Marcille has become more "accepting" of the food sources.
A fun episode, as always.

We got a water monster based episode this time, there was quite the assortment of them with varying levels of danger, and also deliciousness lol. I felt bad for Senshi during the horse part, what he thought he knew was trying to kill him after all, an important lesson to be learned there but thankfully Senshi has Laios and the gang to fall back on now. Marcille washing Senshi’s beard so he could walk on water was great too, it’s wild that something as simple and as that could prevent magic from working lol.

And we got another very well animated action scene with the kraken, seeing that thing with no CGI was very nice indeed, as well as the party working together to win, I especially liked the duo of Marcille and Senshi. And of course it was time to eat once the big bad kraken was dealt with, but I didn’t expect the true gourmet dish to be a parasite within the kraken instead of the kraken itself, poor Laios ended up getting a parasite of his own in the process tho lol. And lastly we saw that party that got wiped by the bugs last time get revived… only to find them wiped again lol, I wonder if this will be reoccurring or not.

It's so absurdly funny that our team robs the dead and leaves them xD I wonder when they will revive the other team again. Eating parasites is the least appetizing thing in this anime so far (did Laios eat it raw?🤢) but it's still a great episode, lots of funny and creative content as always👌5/5

We just kind of casually got introduced to resurrection in this episode, or did we? I’m a little confused since the people who found them said they had just been knocked out. They died again, but I’m assuming they will be back again as well. Learning about the ecosystem of the dungeon was kind of cool too. (7/10)

I like how they go for eating the parasitic worm inside the octopus- er, giant squid/kraken, instead of the kraken itself lol. Thought they were going to make takoyaki or something, but they left the takoyaki for the small fry fish who were granted an absolute feast. I guess it's in return for Marcille killing a bit too many of them earlier. And Senshi learns a lesson in just letting the ecosystem do its shit.

Kabru and his team were resurrected, and it seems they think Laios and the others stole their treasure when they should be grateful for having kept their bodies safe. Now they delve into the fourth basement filled with sea monsters, and we discover that Senshi has a protective bed made from monster grime that makes him immune to magic.

He's almost killed by a Kelpie, but they manage to defeat it, and Marcille makes a beard shampoo from it. I'm genuinely impressed by how capable the protagonist group is; killing a kraken shouldn't be an easy task.

Poor Laios falling ill, but who in their right mind eats a parasite, and raw at that.

It's quite probable that we'll see Kabru and his group again, and maybe they'll die once more. This might become a recurring joke.

@Narizor Senshi and Marcille made points about how other seafood can be eaten raw so he likely thought that it may be safe for the parasite as well. Hopefully this will teach him to ask first.

Oh water-based dishes now. Funny how i thought first that they might eat those seahorse. But turned out they only created a lunch based off a scavenged grain, some previous mimic meat, and fishman hair alongside with its dandruff. Yummy! Marcille said.

After Laios doing amazing with his lunch, and some giant squid attacking them, Senshi did amazing with those choppy-chop stab that kills the giant squid instantly. Cool idea as well to include the giant parasitic worm alongside those giant squid meat, creating a more realistic atmospheric to these sea-creatures themed episode.

But, Laios got a stomach upsets after eating raw seaworm? How am i not surprise by the flow of the dungeon fate? Ah dungeon meshi dungeon meshi....

That's a lot if info dump here:

Senshi doesn't like the easy way with magic (well we all know by now anyway); his unkempt hair resist magic (LOL); his "supposedly tamed" monster finally turned on him (so it isn't like the golem situation), and his ecology management is his own theory and not necessarily what's actually happening (but it's a good thing still I suppose).

Laios common sense works most of the time: like not trusting Senshi's tamed friend, or not: eating raw parasite meat which has parasite of it's own...well maybe he just want a taste of the big parasite but meh there goes the common in his sense. Singing battle with the mermaids was definitely LOL.

The dead party guys from the coin bugs levels are revived (and looks like got scammed/conned), caught up to their current dungeon level then got trashed up again. XD
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
