| Nope. Just tested it. It was going up at first, sometimes by more than one. That had to have been other people viewing my profile. When I reloaded my profile and the home page repeatedly, the count no longer went up. I have nearly 100,000 profile views. O_O lol |

| @Rinrinka If you played Forum Games, the profile view goes up significantly. A lot of those games revolve around looking the users profile for a certain game requirement (look up favorite characters, last update anime, their profile design, etc.). Even if you just comment on the forums, people will notice and also wanna see the profile. I've noticed my view count go up fast after I started interacting on the forum. |

| There are countless bot views when it comes to MAL. For example, some lists got millions of views overnight due to massive bot attacks. Sometime after, staff hid the public list view stats we used to have. Sadly, some of those users actually tried to tell ppl the views were legit smh.. even when it was the manga list only with a million views and their anime list with literally a thousand. As we all know, bots are still a massive problem on the site. Bots will also view your posted images and links, boosting them to insane numbers. Years ago, in like 2014, Imgur told me I have hundreds of millions of views on the images I host in this club https://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=19736 Images not shared anywhere else.. and even a single thread with no replies had over 2 million views on the banner image for it. But all that can't be possible looking at MAL's entire userbase which I heard was like 2 million only recently, makes more sense many views are bots same with the lists mentioned above. Another example is after my Dropbox was crashed by a huge influx of views within hours, Kineta confirmed to me that bots can take a link or page on MAL and spam it many times over as well. I don't have any real solid proof, but I also think the majority of MAL's userbase is botted. I believe this has been the case since the old days lol. Many user's hit counters/flag counters are faked as well, I've seen them hide the counters in their signatures using the overflow and inflating their stats lol. Never believe those. |

Only my salary has six digits (in 円). I do not troll kids about their favourite cartoons 24/7 like some people after all. This year, I log in every 6-10 days on average too. But I find it honestly hilarious to see some people above who take seriously the innocuous bragging of this thread; no one can derive any pride from a high number of profile views... It is as meaningless as the number of followers on Twitter. P.S. Any resemblance to a real person or organisation in this message is purely coincidental. |
