| Welp, Zeruzeon had some dark plans after all. He seemed sketchy already. Luckily, Helck had a plan of his own and didn't waste time to take action. Cless also turns out to be a key factor in this arc. Tbh, I feel like this episode was tense and kept its momentum well enough from start to finish. It was a serious episode with high stakes. |

| Clearly one of the most important episodes of the series: a lot of key scenes and explanations that got us to understand a lot of things and how we got to the current situation. That plan by the nobility is even more horrible than I expected, and that cliffhanger... Well, I suppose we could guess that not everyone was going to be ok. Hope we'll get back to some more light-hearted stuff in the near future :) |

Latest episode ruined everything. when they could have ended the whole thing after slashing Cless with that hero killer sword thing they start talking to each other ignoring the situation around them and guess what, lady gets the sword taken from her, zapped. If that isn't lazy writing, I don't know what is.

It's not even clear if Cless's brainwashing is permanent or can be undone, so it makes sense for her to try to only disable Cless rather than ending him. 2)Bad-guy literally teleported to Alicia and zapped her. Till this moment nobody knew he could teleport + there wasn't anyone around so it's not like talking to each other made no sense there. |

| This episode kept me engrossed throughout. I was a bit concerned that Zeruzeon was going to lead Helck and the team into a trap but instead he has been trustworthy and saying everything he knows. The plan that the nobility have for the commoners, to essentially turn them to slaves with no will of their own, is horrible. On that note I would not be surprised if this plan also has something to do with the frequent spawning of monsters. If I recall correctly Helck ends up with the hero slayer sword in the present day so he must've taken it before fleeing but it appeared that he got stabbed at the end of this episode. Also, the awakened soldiers of the flashback look different than the modern day ones so I'm thinking the present day ones are further evolved but we'll see. |

| We are at a point where this is the best part of the anime so far and each episode is better than the last. I'm so glad I stuck with this one. A wild sequence of events there at the end of the episode. Reveal after reveal and it was a lot to take in. The animation in particular was really good at times this episode. It seems they stepped it up a bit. Unfortunately, there were still some hiccups in that regard. Not too fussed about that though. The Human King looks like the leprosy king fromt he movie, Kingdom of Heaven. I really like that design. Also, Mikaros...what a bastard! |

| I really wish this flashback would end already so hopefully the plot can progress before the show ends. These senators are so cartoonishly evil that it drags the show down even more. |
| That was an amazing episode, plot wise. Everything was progressing, the fighting was getting more and more bloody, then the nobles use CLESS, there's a hero sword, it wounded Cless and the next thing you know, Helck got back stabbed (literally!) Why does this end on a cliffhanger? Episodes seem to be getting shorter and shorter with this arc. Damn. Why didn't they lead with this serious stuff? The comedy at the start now seems like "filler" compared to what has been happening with the recent backstory. |

| @Kimurah Yeah, how dare the special sword imbued with special powers that can cut even the mightiest magical monsters with ease, that was introduced in the very first minutes of the character wielding it, explained its status of magic antique relic as a weapon capable to kill the strongest forms of living things (exactly what a hero is) be actually something that will be used later in the story to try and stop the menace that requires exactly the described item. I can agree with the first two points, despite they being just how a story usually flows and a bit cliche, but come on, the third one was foreshadowed both right before the flashback and in the first appeareance of Alicia. | Animation went to shit, but the chapter was over in an instant. Since blonde guy was so cool with being an awakened hero I was expecting him to be leading the party into a trap, but given that the king has some kind of BS magic to control humanity he might be brainwashed and just used as leader for his high potential. Hope Alicia dies here, good motivation for Helck and a reasoning in why she wasn't with Edil in the battle. But I guess she is the long haired hero with the helmet and is being held back for "shock value". |

| Is this show better than Fullmetal Alchemist yet? I remember when I criticized story telling and animation people threw tantrums left and right claiming it's the best thing ever, just you wait few more episodes. So is it? I have to periodically come and ask because according to them score isn't indicative even though it keeps slipping. |

| @MeanEYE I don't remember anyone ever claiming it was better than FMA than yourself in two or three posts, this sounds like a strawman. It's not even in the same genre as FMA, they are not exactly comparable, this is a dark-high fantasy with medieval setting and D&D elements (leveling, etc...). One must be really stupid to even expect anything like FMA from the very first episode. |

After I made the observation that score is way too high in relation to what we are seeing and it can't be compared to significantly better shows with same score. Pointless observation because people vote in binary on this site (either 1 or 10) but one I made none the less. Argument stemmed from there how this show gets better than FMA and some others, just you wait. So I came back for some tiny bit of told-you-so satisfaction and asked if it got better already. | Dammit they talked about Helck being a naive man, after he said something about possible peace with demon. But its actually them that run into a trap with such a naivety, especially with Alicia. How the heck you stand still while the enemy wizard approach you, especially since he seems surprised over your weapon? Ofc he tried to snitch it off, easily win, and bam they lose, bad end smh. Other than those tiny weird nitpick, and Zeon being awfully loud as a plot-driven character to this revelation, i think this is kinda solid episode. |

| The conspiracy behind the awakening awas revealed and the battle between the rebels and the King's order is at hand. This will somehow lead into Helck killing Cless if the rumours from the first episodes are to be believed. In the meantime I feel bad that the situation turned out like this and that they ended up getting captured. Hopefully next episode we have some closure on this flashback story. |
