There are a multitude of anime I've seen before that could be described as "mood," but Bocchi the Rock seems to specifically target the socially awkward and timid using a bright, highly animated, and highly exaggerated art style to visually portray those anxieties. I suppose this sort of anime is ever more relevant nowadays with the oversaturation of social media and the desire to connect with others, all the while conflicting with anonymous and disconnected nature of net interactions.

I am very much interested on the premise of a socially awkward girl joining the band with an excellent skill in guitar with a cast of diverse characters. But the comedy in this series really is my cup of tea. The trope of the comedy is what I preferred. I am excited to see more of Bocchi and the Kessoku Band.

The animaton and artstyle is so eye candy. Also, the opening slaps. Both visually and song wise.

Hitori's parents look so damn young lol

Ngl, I'm sure a lot of us could relate, at least a little bit when Hitori was giving her brief intro about being an introvert.

There are so many relatable moments here. You must have experienced at least one of these if you're/have been an introvert. The gushing over the progress of your YT channel even if it's just 10 comments, the placing something on your desk to garner attention, the carrying of merch to get along with people of similar interests, etc.

Overall, it was a great first episode. Really cute and relatable. Also, I gotta hand it to Hitori's VA. They were doing a damn good job. I can now see why this show was getting so much hype. I can't really find the word, but this show is so 'gen z' if that makes any sense.

The ED was cute.

Bocchi the Rock. Oh boy where do I begin? It's an anime that I have been wanting to try for a long time now and it's definitely been recommended to me for quite a bit, man I really do have a thing for slice of life shows don't I? This was a surprising watch to me, the animation is stunning to look at and the protagonist of Hitori herself is so damn relatable in every sense of the word, she certainly feels like a shy introverted character and somebody that I'd probably encounter in real life. The struggles she has in the episode felt so real and honestly I feel like there's a lot of people that have been in a similar patch like she has, struggling to interact with people that is. I found myself laughing a lot at this episode, my god that fake ending legit threw me off when I saw it and it did have me literally say to myself: "Wait? The credits? But it's not the end of the episode is it? No it's not the end of the episode." Well done, CloverWorks, well done, you have my attention now.

I had high expectations and still got surprised by how good it was! You can do it, Bocchi! Seriously, being that introverted and still going on stage (while hiding in a box) is huge!

Siendo sincero pensé que estaba algo sobrevalorado, pero pensé que tantas opiniones muy positivas no son casualidad. Me encanta.

To be honest I thought it was somewhat overrated, but I thought that so many very positive opinions are not a coincidence. I love

I've heard great things about this show and figured I'd give it a go, and I really wasn't disappointed.

The whole social anxiety aspect of the show is relatable too, the animation is great and so is the voice acting. Love it so far!

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

I enjoyed meeting Bocchi. As I imagine many people here also do, I have social anxiety. So that automatically endeared me to Bocchi. And I am a huge music person. So I will keep watching!

This is tempting fate, but i'll finally start watching this even if future italian dub maybe isn't 100% impossible after all. K-On was my first subs-only series, let's discover how this holds up.

For a change, it's nice that internet comments aren't mean spirited (even if... 30000 subscribers? Really?) But didn't expect the main character already into guitar playing this soon and being so paranoid (and talkative in her own mind... even if to be fair all in all it's an actual normal teenager thing to do.

Ok, the fake ending credits made me laugh and the fake seppuku imagination was... weird, and extremely not expected from a series like this.

"do you know guitarhero on youtube?" lol, she's in front of them but can't inform them directly.

so... Rina Tennoji hiding herself into a box has a competitor. ...what? She's actually performing on stage inside of it?

Pretty good start, and Nijika and Ryo for their own separate reasons already seem pretty, likable and interesting.

It was really fun. I liked how realistic the fact was that Hitori's superb solo guitar playing doesn't mean that she would be good in band playing. Despite how similar these things are, there is a big difference in the required skills. And only experience can make up for the difference.
“The key is to have fun, even if you suck!” - Cute motivation from Nijika :3
