| i use tiktok very often and am on anime tiktok. i enjoy seeing the anime community grow, and i like that everybody on there is around my age. HOWEVER, it is the same 10 shows recommended over and over again, and they seem to really enjoy making shows that aired years ago popular (which there's no problem with this, just wish they would also focus on newer stuff and not the stuff that everybody has seen) also, there are some really weird people on there, especially in the boku no hero academia fandom. lots of shipping minors and weird sexual stuff that shouldn't be happening, especially considering the characters that are being cosplayed are MINORS, and the people doing the cosplay are.... minors. so, to conclude, there is some fun stuff and every now and then i will see something i appreciate (like the other day i saw somebody talking about why Monster is a must-watch series, which i loved because shows other than Attack on Titan and Haikyuu get no attention on tiktok), but all in all it's incredibly reptitive. |

| I DESPISE anime tiktok with a PASSION. its the main reason I deleted the app. Its just people recommending very popular animes and claiming its underrated. People lusting over the same boring and bland characters, and hyping them up way too much. The art side of it is nice. but have you heard of straight weeb tiktok? Oh god, guys shirtless trying to mimic anime characters is the closest thing to cringe, its just too much. People saying underrated/facts/opinions or whatever that has been echoed millions of times. then theres the gatekeepers, people arguing about the mangaka,the same jokes repeated over and over again, oh gawd Do you know that scene in Boogiepop phantom where the guy is falling? Yeah, that gif blew up and a bunch of people were like "hes ending it all because hes suffering" when that wasnt even the case- so i got major second-hand embarassment. THE AHEGAO FACE DID NOT MANY ANYONE LOOK HOT OR CUTE its nice to see the community get larger, but half of them are doing it for the trends and its extremely awkward.. i went from taking a break from it cuz of the cringe, trying to change my fyp, to just deleting it alltogether. sorry for the rant lol |

Anime tiktok is full of normies who have been watching anime for like 6 months and only watch popular shows/shows that are on Netflix. I hate gatekeeping, I really do, but it just annoys me, as someone who has been watching anime for years to see all these inexperienced fans talk about stuff they know nothing about. To this day I still laugh about a video edit with scenes from SnK, but the audio in portuguese that is over it is a dialogue with Hange asking what Levi did to the children and if he killed them. Levi answers that he did something worse. Also, despite how cringe the excessive simping is, it can be funny too. |

Those are the only 7 shows they've seen yet they claim to be "weebs". I also like some edits of animes that I've already seen and showcases my fav characters in a innovative way. The only negative thing I noticed is that it sometimes spoil some animes that I haven't finished yet |
