Another episode filled with mind-numbingly tedious inner monologues and expositions. Why is this shit so popular again? It's like I'm watch some children's picture book, with this fucker rambling even the most obvious things non-stop. Everything is just told to you. You never "see" anything besides some action. You don't even see Tanijirou and the new girl introduce themselves to each other. He just tells you her name is Makomo, and then proceeds to describe their whole fucking interactions through his trusty inner monologues, instead of the show letting you see it happen, you know, like in a proper anime. What's the point of making an anime adaptation if the protagonist guy is going to describe everything like it's a manga or a light novel? Hell, even manga and light novels have more normal, organic dialogues than this show.

The passing of time in this episode throughout the training portion felt a bit odd to me, like the pacing of this episode too. It was good to see Tanjiro train intensively but didn't like how it was portrayed through the journal/diary format with those really lengthy monologues that would have been better if condensed and just shown a lot more at face value. It definitely felt like this episode would work as a manga a lot better than it did here, so the directing/scriptwriting could have been better. Monologues could have been more informative too of his mindset, rather than the same old kind of lines you get. Not a great episode, that's for sure.

Finally theres someone that could squat down with their heels down

Anyway, Tanjirou somehow sliced past Sabito through a boulder behind him.

I have watched the whole season 1, and this was the best episode imo. This episode is quite "simple" (not much information is given, and it's just about Tanjiro's training) but the presentation is phenomenal.

It was one of the most beautiful animated segments I have ever seen, even though as a whole I think the Season 1 of this anime was quite average.

That trainer guy really upset me, and that's certainly no way to actually train for anything. You gotta rest, or you mess yrself up! Anyway, the end of the episode was cool. It was interesting to see that those kids seemed to be ghosts. Long hair Tanjiro is cool

Oh so we just skipped 2 years? We barely seem to know anything about this world yet, and whether Nezuko needs blood/humans to stay alive, they somehow forgot to mention that during this. Not to mention how he was already good at all kinds of acrobatic manoeuvers even before his training for some reason. I guess maybe cause of hunting or something, but still.

Pacings really seems all over the place in these first 3 episodes.

Apart from that, the animation is great, comedy is kinda good, but not yet sure how to feel about this.

Solid episode, always hard to make training arcs enjoyable and this does a pretty good job of it. only issue is ghost continuity. like how the F*** did the ghosts beat the shit out of our main boi and not demons. like THEY could be the ultimate demon hunters cause there already dead. its like star wars ghosts. like if they can hold a lightsaber and interact with the physical world then why didn't they kill good ol palps. the ONLY explanation that makes sense is that the rock was sentiant and controlling the ghosts. so in my head cannon rockman is best senpai. 3/5

I love training arcs/training episodes in general so this was a W for me I love seeing MC train and get stronger. In the scene where they should his hand I was disgusted but also so impressed because I have trained outside in the cold before and my hands would blister and get rough so for his hands to be bleeding, I can understand how hard he had to train and how much perseverance is required. What's with everyone moving like ninjas and just disappearing into thin air๐Ÿ˜‚. Loved the jokes and humour as well perfect balance. For the first sword fight scene in the anime ever I was pretty impressed.

i knew the training arc was coming but i didn't know it would be condensed into a single episode lol
literally 2 years of effort from main guy (his name hasn't stuck yet ^^')

the two i guess ghost children that showed up in the forest must've been spirits of the forest that stick around to help the old man's disciples train.
the contrast between the two children is funny lol one so rough and blunt while the other is soft and nurturing.
the ending was wholesome uwu but expected lol the anime couldn't continue if he didn't slice that boulder somehow...

my girl nezuko had less screen time than that rock tho although their roles were similar in this episode sjdflksd

The thing I really loved about this episode is that, unlike other anime, Tanjiro didn't became strong thanks to some kind of magic or superpower, but through hard work, discipline and sacrifice. His rivalry with Sabito is spectacular and I love to see him grow throughout the episode.

This show really doesn't trust its audience to understand anything without spoonfeeding it to the viewer in the most hamfisted way possible: I can tell Tanjiro is frustrated with his lack of progress without him saying that and monologuing about it, thank you very much.

Episode 3 of *Demon Slayer* is a masterclass in blending lore with character development and intense training sequences. This episode enriches our understanding of the Demon Slayer Corps, revealing that they’ve existed since ancient times with hundreds of members. Their leader remains a mystery, and they operate outside official government recognition. This secretive and enigmatic setup adds a thrilling depth to the narrative.

We also get a deeper dive into the nature of demons. They’re terrifying creatures that not only kill and consume humans but also possess extraordinary regenerative abilities. Their origins are unknown, and they can only be killed by sunlight or beheading with a special sword. This makes the stakes incredibly high for Tanjiro and his future as a Demon Slayer.

Tanjiro’s dedication shines through as he starts keeping a journal for his sister, Nezuko, who has been in a deep sleep for months. His concern for her well-being adds an emotional layer to his relentless training. Speaking of which, Tanjiro’s training under Urokodaki is both grueling and enlightening. Urokodaki’s rigorous methods, including his humorous yet harsh punishments, push Tanjiro to his limits. The training is visually stunning and incorporates a mix of running down a mountain, avoiding deadly traps, sword practice, and breathing exercises.

The episode takes a dramatic turn when Tanjiro faces the giant boulder challenge. Despite months of trying, he still can’t slice through it. The introduction of Sabito, a young boy in a fox mask, adds a fresh dynamic. His intense fight with Tanjiro, and subsequent appearance of Makomo, another young trainee, make for a visually spectacular and emotionally charged sequence. Their guidance helps Tanjiro refine his skills, though he struggles to defeat Sabito even with a real sword. The revelation that Tanjiro had actually sliced through the boulder instead of Sabito’s mask was a breathtaking moment that beautifully symbolizes his growth.

The episode concludes with a poignant and mystifying twist—Sabito and Makomo disappear, leaving us to wonder if they were real or spectral guides. The emotional impact of this scene, combined with the intense training sequences, makes Episode 3 a standout. The character development, especially Tanjiro’s evolution, is compelling, and the episode’s pacing keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

Episode 3 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba masterfully continues Tanjirou's journey, blending intense training sequences with moments of quiet reflection. The episode delves deeper into the lore of the Demon Slayer Corps, revealing more about the mysterious organization that stands between humanity and the terrifying demons that roam the world.

The animation and art style remain breathtaking, with every scene meticulously crafted to draw you further into the story. The training sequences, in particular, are both physically and emotionally intense, showcasing Tanjirou's growth as he hones his skills under the guidance of his mentor.

What sets this episode apart is its ability to evoke strong emotions without relying on action alone. The introduction of new characters adds a layer of intrigue and melancholy that lingers even after the episode ends. The music, as always, is hauntingly beautiful, perfectly complementing the episode's tone.

Overall, Episode 3 is a perfect continuation of the series, balancing action, emotion, and mystery. If you’re enjoying the journey so far, this episode will only deepen your connection to the story. It's a must-watch for fans of the series.

We got the training episode, and honestly, it was quite amusing. It's also nice to see he has been training for 2 years now, so if he's now super good at killing demons, it's certainly not something from on day to the other. Anyways, I found Sabito and Makomo's characters interesting, and I suppose they are some kind of spirits, because Makomo said something along the lines that the kids that were saved by his master were always looking out for his new students, and I think this was also the case, where Sabito and Makomo wanted to help Tenjiro to achieve is goal, so he could become a demon slayer and protect his sister, because while defeating Sabito, Tanjiro actually sliced the rock, which shows how stronger he become. And they actually came at the right time too, since Tenjiro was losing hope.
But I don't really understand why Nezuko is in kind of a coma, that didn't happen in the last episode, did it? She just never woke up I guess? Maybe they'll explain that in the next episode or later.
Anyways, this anime continues with the good direction, and I'm curious to see how the story will develop.
