I'm still liking the original anime more, does that make me a bad person ?

But damn what a good episode. In terms of "bring Knives down" arc, must say Stampede did it better.
Would have loved more Legato and putting Vash in moral conandrum, but maybe for S2 ?

I knew that still-intact July was foreshadowing something, and glad to see Eriks/Lina combo back.
I guess they are going for something completely new for S2, like OG earth people coming back ? Excited to see what's next.

Holy Fck that episode was something. One of the best episodes of this year. That final fight between Vash and knives was amazing. Very emotional. AND MILLY IN NEXT SEASON?!? I was so shocked when they said her name. This is better than the og imo

I kept replaying the part when Vash's hair stood up like in his original design. I was in complete disbelief. xD I thought the hair in the final visual they posted was just an easter egg. Turns out it was CANON!! The gunfight scenes and then aerial ones were a feast for the eyes and ears...

I hope they bring back his iconic red jacket with the multiple tails in the final season!!

Why? Only because you didn't like it everyone else must think the same way?

edit: I hope it didn't sound too aggressive, I respect this point of view :D

I mean get your points but OG had his own qualities and at this point they are 2 completely different shows.

Still I'm overall happy that the Trigun franchise had this Renaissance phase.

Overall, this series seems much weaker than the original. Some characters didn't have enough episodes to develop, also most of original's humor was missing. Not a fan of Vash's redesign and his voice felt miscast. It just doesn't fit Vash in my opinion (it also doesn't help that this actor is in so many anime). Fights weren't too bad, but animation for the most part was average at best.
Let's see if next series will be better.
I was listening to your points respectfully until you said the animation was average at best.

This episode was sooo awesome especially bring back Vash old hairstyle for old time sake, and referring to a old character Milly. This final episode was great.

Amazing animation but horrible story, was a nice tentative to revive Trigun with a remake but... Why not create a sequel to the first anime or a real adaptation to TV ? Why create such marvel anime ? They lost a  nice chance and created a "ok" series carried most by the animation than others variables.

Was a Ok 6/10 anime.

It was really nothing special, quite choppy at times. Sure, it's not as bad as CGI in Berserk, but it isn't great either.

Great finale, but it's still a 7/10 for me because of how rushed the pacing was during most of the season. It really needed to slow down. Even just one more episode could've helped.

The side characters were pretty useless most of the time? It was really only in this episode that Meryl did something significant. Only other time she was useful was when he pulled on that lever in episode 7? 8? when the ship was gonna crash.  I guess Roberto was useful as being a mentor to Meryl. Wolfwood had the most character growth I guess, even though we didn't see what he was up to in the epilogue.

Some of the episodes prior to episode 7 were pretty weak too. Had a hard time caring about what was going on most of the time.

As for the other baddies, I hope they have more of a role in season two. Especially Livio. The others came off as being so one-dimensional because they had so little screen time.
I also really felt nothing for Vash and Knives relationship. I get that Knives hatred of humans came from trauma when he was a "child" but he was still a cringey psychopath to me. I guess he's not 100% dead though? Also, because we only got snippets of their time together before Knives made the ship crash, I just...didn't care about their "brotherly love"? I felt no sad feelings when Knives "died" and Vash got all sad. I guess I'm saying their relationship came off as shallow, but that's just me.

As an anime only who never watched the original tv anime or has read the manga, I think Stampede had lots of potential, and overall wasn't bad, but I can't say it was great because of all the critiques I just said. So I hope Season 2 can have slower pacing? maybe? Wonder how long we'll have to wait, unless the second season has already been in production. Studio Orange's next big project is the final season of Beastars, but that's not out until next year, so idk if they can balance working on two big shows. I'd imagine CG animation is a bigger workload than 2D animation. A lot of haters ragged on the CG animation for this, but to me it was the best CG animation I've seen in a TV anime so far because of how action heavy Stampede was.

SO yeah, don't think Stampede deserves the hate it's got, but I also don't think it's as good as some others are making it out to be.

I think what I find funny about this anime is it really does feel like I am watching Trigun but in an alternate universe where all major events still happen, but they occur a bit differently, and in a different order. Like it's faithful to the original, and yet not, at the same time.

I really like it though and I am happy to hear a second season is in the works already. Looking forward to it.

So, in the end, it was like a prequel to the original series, and from the second season, they will do it like that.
I remember people talking about how they changed the bounty to 6 mil instead of 60 and was wondering why the original had Milly and this one has Roberto, was think that they took another approach and made Meryl the kouhai and so on.
And I haven't seen the original one, so I'm excited about what the second season has in store for us.

I liked it, a bit too long with a bit too much filler in-between and some stuff made longer that it should..could've been condensed to 8-10 ep's easily to be a bit more succinct. But it looked really good and was a decent enough watch that was familiar yet different. Final fight was like a QTE boss fight from a video game which is how you'd expect a CGI cutscene to be and I'm gutted more CGI shows can't capture that intensity but that's most likely a budget/personnel issue that results in so many framerate issues.

Don't get me wrong I like the original too, but let's be honest it was 90's AF and a product of a different time. Would've been jarring to do a remake in that style.

It's far from perfect, but a definite breath of fresh air and I appreciate that.

Best thing about the final episode was not hearing the OP.

I don't even know what the hell was all that... Just a half hour of Vash and Knives flying around using one wing while grunting. It looked pretty I guess, but I felt nothing seeing Vash blast his brother away.

I hope that there won't be a continuation of this. Especially given how many good shows never get a second season. The CG was bad. It lacked the charm of the original but I think it was intentional for it to have a very different feel to it. I did like Vash's history though, that was the only good thing about this show.

knives burning up scene was well done, vash's hair looked like OG vash's hair but more similar to shidou ryuusei who just got introduced in blue lock lol. milly thompson is finally on the way!
this season was just fine, nothing crazy. the animation was inconsistent, choppy at times but in closeups or slow-motion scenes it was quite fluid. 6/10 for me, expecting the next season to be better.

Episode 12 was Beautifully Animated, choreographed and directed. Movie level even. Kudos to Studio Orange for that. I still can't believe there are folks who "hate" this version because of the CGI when it's one of the strongest selling points of Stampede.

I enjoyed the original Trigun but the ending was a mess. It was more style over substance. This version has a more cohesive story, higher stakes, the character's back stories are all given even my favorite Nicholas!

Milly joining soon, now we know why Vash has a HUGE Bounty on him. Sad to say Nai was right, humans will just use all the Plant till none are left. And Vash was blamed, plus now has to live his life on the run. Sad.

Can't wait to see more. They really did a good job with this.

Till the end I still feel like this show was so under watched. The CGI was great, the characters were really expressive, and like this episode showed the action was creative and fluid. The OST was also a standout for me, really beautiful.

I'm glad this is getting a sequel, it totally deserves it. This finale was incredible

I spent way to much time hating this anime. I was not going to watch it. I hated the CG and that it was not an adaption of maximum but this was handled with such care. It is anime of the season and a contender for AOTY. What an epic finale for a franchise that has zero misses.

I'm still speechless about how awesome this last episode was. I dreamed about the day they would finally use the Dark Shift Phenomenon in the anime AND HERE WE ARE!!

For those who don't know, the Dark Shift Phenomenon was planed to be used in the Planet Gunsmoke videogame, but after it was cancelled, the idea ended up becoming just a variant color for the series action figures. Later Nightow decided to introduce it at the end of TriMax during the final fight against Legato. Basically Vash is able to use it when he goes full apeshit with his powers.

You know, It's really interesting how Stampede is the culmination of years of work on Trigun condensed into a more coherent story. Yeah, we have some flaws here and there, but now things are more planned out. Stuff that were thought up during the last volumes of Maximum are now hinted and used way earlier because it makes more sense storywise. This is really cool, Trigun Stampede is a project made with passion.

This anime was taken as a blasphemy by the community, but instead it's a small masterpiece.
Ppl should have the courage to watch it without thinking about the old anime, this is much more, this one explain Nai and Vash, their past and their nature.

I saw the Trigun 98 few months before the annoncement of Trigun Sthe Stampede (and I just noticed I watched the first episode 31 March, almost one year lol) and I didn't expected a reboot of this anime, and I  was very lucky to had a so good timing lol.

I enjoyed both shows, I liked both design of Vash (the fact he didn't had the spiky hairs didn't bothered me at all, both designs are really cool for me) and I don't understand why so much people are triggered by this, the animation is fucking cool.

And I recommend to watch both shows.

Last fight against Nai was visually incredible, and damn the entire July city has been destroyed and Vash seems to have vanished now, we still have Meryl that will have to take care of Milly next (finally she's appearing) I can't wait to see how the anime will do in the next season, I wasn't really a fan of the original anime but here I got sold mainly thanks to the incredible CGI animation, it carried a lot to me.

next season is going to be one for the books!
