| Man, Kita's such a blazing light of improvement that Bocchi's eyes turn blind but asking her to be a back-up vocal isn't gonna happen. "How can they be more band-like?" There's 1001 answers to this, and for a start, band merch like zipties and appointing social media will do, while Bocchi will settle on the new song's lyrics with Ryo's music. But Bocchi being Bocchi, finding inspiration is difficult, and reflecting on young memories will not do. Though her self-party is so funny, it's self-servient to her own family. A call out of the blue, with Nijika's idea to get inspiration for the band's promotional material in Shimo-Kitazawa, they really need a direction to show forth their impact. Kita being a social media nut, it hurts Bocchi quite a lot, that's quite the emotional damage if she creates an Instagram for herself: the tsuchinoko Bocchi. And indeed, Kita's idea to jump to show off the Seishun youthful feel (as is in any anime god-tier OP) is actually true though, lots of anime also do this as well. Bocchi trying to covert ideas and confirm from Ryo about the song's lyrics, and personally Ryo detests the corporate workarounds of the band to quit from her original band and join Nijika's band to create her own music for Kessoku Band, that's a very respectable thought. Too bad that Ryo is still broke, but at least her music is holding up. The lyrics are settled, and so is Bocchi's room entirely filled with the band's pictures. Another new ED, simplistic but nice song. |

| Dude, Bocchi getting busted by her parents while she was practicing being a "cheerful" person, was hilarious xD. Also, just saying, if you gather your band members for a group photo, wouldn't it be for the best to let everyone know first, so that our dear Bocchi can change her clothes from those pink slav outfit ones she keeps wearing all the time, to something more fitting ... like i dont know, different color slav outfit. But then again, this band is truly special. |

| I was worried that this show might lose its appeal for me given the last episode was one I didn't enjoy much, but my worries can be rested at least for this week. I really enjoyed this episode and series again here, the visual direction was really strong again as the anime staff did a great job in animating Bocchi's inner thoughts regarding her approach to writing band-like lyrics and going so over-the-top with the normie impressions and how they would be, as well as her breaking down further and further when hearing about suggestions that she should start a social media page. Ryo's been iffy for me but it was nice to see more of her character underneath the surface in her conversation with Bocchi at the end, wanting Bocchi to be true to herself with her lyrics rather than selling out for mass appeal and no real identity. The lyrics might be a downer but it's got real personality to it, and like Ryo said, having someone like Kita be able to sing something like that would be an interesting and fun contrast. It reminds me of some of the Paramore songs I've heard in After Laughter where Hayley Williams has so much personality and vibrance to her appearance and vocals, but the lyrics cut deeper and are more emotionally conflicting and grimmer than the melodies. This episode felt less like a waste of time and focused less on Kita's annoying side in episode 3 and more on how to progress as a group, even with the superficial little details like getting group photos together. After episode 3 was a letdown, this was a really strong episode that I hope, the rest of the series can continue to build on. The ED was really good this time around as well. |
| Absolutely outstanding episode and it keeps being my favorite airing show! I can't get enough of the fun expressions and visual gags the show is filled with and the new ending song was very good too. That's a nice Band photo they got and I can't wait to hear the lyrics of the song she came up with. |
| Kita is too bright for Bocchi. LUL. Here we are... the band is finally together and everyone's been assigned a task and Bocchi is going to write the lyrics. The whole episode was once again CGDCT but at the end when Bocchi was doing her best writing those lyrics was the best. These girls are so supportive of each other which makes it so cute. Got to know more about Ryo in this episode and why she quit from her previous band. Another great episode IMO and on top of that, we got another cute ED with an amazing song. |

| A masterclass episode and probably THE best one so far. This show has continued to be more than just a pleasant surprise, and at this point, I've completely fallen in love with this series by could possibly by my AOTY at this point if it keeps up the consistency. I knew it was gonna be a good anime, but part of me was unsure whether or not its initial charm may wear off, but episode 4 has cleared away most of, if not all, my remaining doubts. I really adored the animation direction especially with the comedy and how creative it got, especially in terms of framing Bocchi's over-the-top mentality in regards to coming up with the lyrics for the band's new song. I really wish more comedy-centered anime can be this flamboyant and innovative. Ryou had a really great highlight there with her bar conversation with Bocchi, and we get more insight into her character, especially a little backstory context. Nice of her to tell Bocchi to be true to herself: "Don't write generic lyrics based on other concerns. Write what YOU want to write." What Bocchi ends up composing was some melancholic lyrics for sure, but they seem very genuine, and having someone like Kita with her overly brightening demeanor sing them would really help with the contrast and how it'd be delivered in performance. Overall the progression with the group was steady and solid, even with details like going around taking photos and such. (And yes, thank you Kyou for spitting fax: any anime where they jump in the OP visuals is automatically a god tier one LMAO). Also really love that new ED as well. Was yet another nice surprise I didn't think this blessed series would give us. For me, personally, Bocchi The Rock is already a top favorite of mine and hopefully for the long term. |

| Yakuza Friday Night Bocchi is too strong. I hope Kensuku Band will have another Promo Photoshoot, on the beach. Like those albums covers that the band is on a very rocky beach, and in different distances. |

| This is AOTS for this anime season without a doubt now, and could make a case for itself to be my AOTY. The visual comedy never fails to have me laughing hard, and its over the top theatrics could even top the likes of Kaguya-sama, or Nichijou. Coming in to this show, I knew that CloverWorks would probably do a good job with this, but not THIS GOOD of a job. However, even in all the comedy, there are some very heartfelt moments here as well. Ryo's past band became more commercial, and as such, lost its creativity. She goes further to say that the moment you lose your uniqueness, it's equivalent to dying. She'll be a good inspiration for Hitori to try to write what she wants to, and not to write just so others will "accept" you. I have a feeling, that in the end, those lyrics will turn out to be the lyrics for "Seishun Complex", the OP for the show, and that will make a great performance. |

| The kita aura huh. As mech go zip ties sure was an interesting one. But man Hitori's first serious role turned out to be pretty important. To think you'll find a voodoo curse in her lyrics book though first page too. Her family thinking her possessed though was amusing. Given that they're a new band that has no sponsor their pro photos have to be creative. But Hitori's reaction to Kita's insta sure was unique. The insight into how Ryo and Nijika met and formed their band though was nice. But her past experiences I feel would be very useful to both Hitori and the band as the glue that would help both develop. Overall a fun ep that really packed a lot of expansion via Hitori and Ryo as well as the bands first step in introducing themselves to potential fans. While the going is still tough for Hitori having both the band and Ryo helping her I think is a very good 1st step. |

| I cannot believe they referenced the Kirara jump and that 'Are you winning' meme directly in the anime. I have been following this anime since the announcement teaser was posted, but I could never have imagined just how amazing this show would be. Just this episode alone had me laughing out loud multiple times. The jokes are also so well-directed and unpredictable. Bocchi glitching out got me cracking up hard. So did the family gag and the final creepy laugh from Bocchi before the ED abruptly started. But then it really surprised me with the heartfelt stuff in the second half. I wasn't feeling Ryo until now, but it's safe to say I'm a fan of her now. Crazy how good everything is in the anime. From the voice acting and animation to the directing and dialogue, I start to appreciate even the cinematography after other people point out just how thought out most of the shots are. I really feel this anime is not only a contender for AOTS, but if it keeps up this quality, it might be AOTY for me. |
