| What do you think of cosplaying? If you are interested in it, then what's stopping you? Which character would you like to cosplay someday? My experience: I started cosplaying a year ago. I don't go to conventions or anything because those never interested me. I usually just wear them in my daily life because who cares. My make up is inspired by dolls and anime characters so why not become one? Anyways, I have never received weird looks or anything. Rather compliments. Probably because my cosplays are subtle since they are mainly uniforms. I even got approached multiple times on the street from strangers who asked me to which school or college I go due the uniforms because they thought I would go to a prestigious school. Oh and in the future I want to cosplay Nagatoro as next. I haven't finished the anime yet but my friends mention all the time that I look and act like her. Still thinking about that though. |

| I cosplay at cons and events. I haven't done it a while due to the rona but Im planning on doing an elf cosplay for the renaissance festival near me next month. I've cosplayed as the eleventh doctor from doctor who and have done some similar closet cosplays of uniforms. I'm planning on God from Lilith's Cord, Shion from YozaFam and probably Luo Tianyi's Grain in Ear version. |

Now in terms of video games, I guess I could cosplay as Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect series. He's a badass.  In terms of anime so far, all the interesting characters in the shows I've watched are female, and I'm not someone who would be right for crossdressing. Could watch more shows with interesting male anime characters... that's probably something I should look into. |
| I cosplay and have been cosplaying since 2004, but nowadays I've slowed down and not really made much due to COVID protocols at cons. Like, I was going to work on a few new cosplays for Anime Expo back in July, but suddenly I thought, "If I wear this for the first time, I'd rather do it when we don't have mask policies anymore"-- or really, it's more that I want to wear something I know I'll be comfortable in while also wearing a mask, dying in the heat, and such. So for AX, I just wore old cosplays except on Saturday I wore a hazmat suit with a school girl uniform over it for the giggles. Sure, I could be cosplaying at home and such, but I have like no motivation. Plus, my weight is kinda doing whatever it wants right now, so I kinda wanted to sew new cosplays when I'm more sure of what my usual weight will be. Also, money. I've been living off of savings due to college classes being too rough for me to work at the same time. Though as of a few days ago, now I can get a job, so I'll probably do that soon enough instead of staying home twiddling my thumbs in order to not spend money.;; I now live near the fashion district, so I'm excited to go there and get nice fabrics for cosplays, but at the same time... money... and driving in Downtown LA. Ew. |

What stops me ? I am male, I would need to shave my facial hairs which is a no, wigs look weird and I ain't gonna dye my hairs. | Ehh, I've never been a huge costume guy, so that's one reason, I'm also not really interested in spending money on a hobby I wouldn't commit to 100%. Shout out to the ones that do though, because some cosplays I've seen are actually pretty fire. |

| i have body dysmorphia but unlike others who cope by lifting weights all day or starving themselves or whatever i cope by numbing myself with drugs and alcohol. it works quite well and i dont care about my physical self mostly, but, cosplaying puts it in the center so i cant fking do it. i dont even look that bad!!! id probably look actually good if i wasnt getting the beginings of a beer belly... i just pretend i dont have a physical body. my cope is practical, not intellectual, dualism. |

| I never really liked cosplaying, even in pr0n. I just don't like it. I don't know why but I just really don't. But good for you if you personally enjoy doing it. My friend and I did have plans to show up to school dressed as maids for Halloween, though. I also suggested a Rem and Ram thing would be funny. We weren't going to do it for the sake of cosplaying (maybe he did, though) but because it sounded like a really stupid and fun idea for us guys to show up in maid outfits. Also I wanted to dress up as Morbius for Halloween but the meme is currently on life support so I don't think I can anymore :( |

The cost and time of making a good costume vs the amount of time you actually get to wear it ( a few hours at a con) just isn't worth it. That said I do own a Toman & Karasuno jacket that I wear in my daily life and planning to get a Psycho-pass Inspector jacket once I can find one that comes with a hood |

| Money and availability. All costumes, accessories and other things are either expensive or not available. Btw I would love to Cosplay as Archer from Zero and UBW (Both look cool). Also Gray fulbuster from Fairy tail cause he does not require much except for a good body. I have done a cheap Kaneki cosplay though without the wig and red eye lenses. |

| Social anxiety, lack of money or enough sewing and prop building skills (i am creative but not good) to make up for lack of money, lack of transport, and I have no friends to go places with me. I am concerned I will feel out of place among others even if they are other fans and cosplayers. I haven’t even been to a convention of any kind before even and I don’t really have any involvement in public social media where I post pics of me kind of thing because I have a nosy family and am always afraid they will find a way to stalk my online activities. So if no one sees it that kind of really takes away from a motivation to actually do it.... Also not many characters look like me either which is part of what makes a good cosplay. If I did it id want to be good at it and not look like some dork in a cheap Halloween costume. Also OP, you being a girl is something to keep in mind. You don’t get weird looks dressing like that on the norm in part because girls already have a lot more variety in the fashion they wear. It’s more difficult for guys when male fashion is boring and sameish. Not that there isn't the possibility of girls being judged or guys not judged in some cases just I mean in general from strangers of both sexes. |
