Mushoku is absolute PEAK.
Literally nothing comes even close to it.

If I have to rank the rest:
1. Overlord / Konosuba / Slime
2. 1st season of SAO, but it was shit after / No Game No Life
3. 1st season of Shield dude, but it was shit after / Grimgar / 1st season of Log Horizon, but it was shit after

Best isekai? Could be grimgar possibly, if season 1 wasn't so shit with the pacing and they had more content in it or at least made more seasons. Konosuba because its so chaotic and bat shit retarded in a really fun way. Zero no tsukaima... WAS, for its time, also being the first modern one before it was even trending. The unwanted undead udventurer could be great, but its not an anime yet and i'm sure they'd fuck it up anyway... Although its not Isekai, just fantasy. I actually read a few really great isekai books that'd make for great isekai anime and/or movies, if not better than the ones that exist but... They're in Russian so that's not happening. Still, isekai is big in Russia (and by Russia/Russian i also mean Ukraine because it largely spoke Russian and still does, not a political statement or anything, just talking about the shared language and media made by both and consumed by both), and has some really good stuff in there...

Re:zero is a masterpiece, Mushoku Tensei is a masterpiece, Overlord is great (the little I’ve read of the LN is better), Youjo Senki is dope, Grimgar is incredible, Konosuba is fun, NGNL is wacky, and everything else is mid.

So I've been looking for new anime and I was wondering if anybody in this forum had any suggestions. I don't know if this is the right place to post it though. My preferred genre is isekai or fantasy. I also like, the animes where the adventurer adopts a child halfway through, and takes care of them for a while. I'm also open to it being the whole premise of the show too. I also enjoy romance and other things. Basically just suggest an anime and if I haven't seen at least an episode or two of it and disliked it Ill watch it

it technically is. It has everything Isekai genre has to introduce, so I decided to put it in the list.

The last episode was pretty terrible but everything else was amazing. It actually creates the vibe of a mid 2000’s mmo, feels exactly like FFXI. The mystery and characters are phenomenal as well.

Do you know this one? https://myanimelist.net/anime/39324/Uchi_no_Ko_no_Tame_naraba_Ore_wa_Moshikashitara_Maou_mo_Taoseru_kamo_Shirenai

I haven't watched it myself, but the manga was good.

If you're fine with manga, I can recommend Dias the Blue. Dias gets a territory after military service, marries and later adopts two girls.

And this one: https://myanimelist.net/manga/109565/Isekai_Yururi_Kikou__Kosodateshinagara_Boukensha_Shimasu

The MC gets transported to another world and has to take care of twins, who are the children of a god.

To answer the initial question, it's 12 Kingdoms.

Log Horizon is my n1 and by far the best MMO/Video game themed based Isekai, but it's very slow and really takes it time with politics, economics, tertiary characters etc, also it's not finished so it can turn to shit...

Konosuba is the best Isekai Comedy.

just to be on topic my least favorite as of now is log horizon. other than that, i would want to see them do walking dead series turned into anime with less drama and more action.

I also would want to see them turn divinity original sin 2 into anime, i kinda dig the setting, story but couldn't get very far cause i'm not patient enough for turn based (the pace is more puzzle like instead of usual japanese turn based flavor).

Twelve Kingdoms easily. Great characters and it actually does world-building. In more recent times, it's probably Re:zero or Ascendance of a Bookworm.

Mushoku tensei's anime would most probably surpass Konosuba's after season 2. And I haven't read Re:zero's novels yet.
