| Interesting question. Well, it certainly couldn't hurt. One of my main complaints with dubs is that the actors sound bored and devoid of passion. Maybe they're just reading lines with no clue about the context. Maybe they just don't care. |

Have you ever considered the idea that people want to become voice actors BECAUSE they love anime? |
| I don't really think there's a single anime dub VA who doesn't really like anime, I mean I'm sure there's a few who are not that big into anime since most VAs also work on other projects like western cartoons or video games. |

| Generally yeah, actors should be invested in the stories they are portraying. They don't need to watch them to do a good job. Apparently Johnny Depp has never seen Pirates of the Caribbean for example. |

| How did you came to the conclusion that they don't like anime? There was this meme on /a/ that claimed that all anime dub voice actors are failures who couldn't break into video ganes (where the good voice actors work) so they are stuck with anime but I don't know if there's any truth to that. |

| "Do you think dub voice actors should like anime and watch it" I think that liking or disliking anime should be irrelevant to your work. PS Most of the english VAs I know off are canadians, so my bet is there are more hockey fans between them than anime fans. |

| If they do a good enough job, I don't really care. It's not my place to determine what they should and shouldn't like either. But it certainly wouldn't hurt if they liked anime too, which I'm sure is true for a few of them. |
| A lot of actors don't watch their own stuff, so I don't think they need to actually watch the anime they act in, but I do feel like they should like anime. |
| FYI some dub actors not only dub but also help out with the production in other ways. Colleen Clinkenbeard for example has served as ADR director for a bunch of things. |

| A job is a job at the end of the day. You cannot expect all of them to care as much, but it doesn't mean they will do a bad job even if they are not as committed. As long as they put a good effort that is all that matters. |
