It can be pocky or any other snack common in anime. Have you ever seen some kind of Japanese food in an anime and decided to try it later?

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

watching pan de peace gave me a bread craving that was so bad i ended up going to panera and ordering mac and cheese in a bread bowl with a side of bread. 10/10 would do it again

I honestly don't know which came first, the having it and then seeing it or me seeing it and then wanting to try it, because it's been so long now. But I have a feeling that seeing melon bread in anime made me want to try it and also a very specific episode of Futakoi Alternative where they drink Georgia Emerald Mountain coffee I think made me want to have that as well. After having both I discovered that melon bread is just the most basic, sweet, super dry bread that's... fine and that pretty much any coffee from a can isn't very good.

I have. Generally pocky is just ok.
I prefer Chocolate fingers more.
Chinese Bakeries tend to already have things that are similar to Japanese Kashipan.
Only difference would be the filling.

Personally prefer Chinese/Hong Kong Style Red Bean Bread to Anpan.
And Hongkong Pineapple bread to Melon Pan.

Had alot of the stuff shown when I was in Japan. But none really leaves a strong impression.
The thing that leaves an impression is 7/11, Lawsons, Family mart had a great selection of drinks and snacks.

I think the only thing I ever specifically tried after only having seen it in anime was pickled daikon maki, or pickled daikon in general. And it's pretty great. Not sure if it counts as a snack tho.

I have eaten pocky before, but they're way too expensive for what they are so it's not something I'd buy for myself if there's any other options.
I probably regret this post by now.

Hmmm, no. Anime was never the reason for me.

I eat them because I simply like them, or they just happened to be available on the store shelves for me to buy. Actually, I did a little bit of research, Glico products such as Pocky have been available in my country for a few decades now.

Setsuko's fruit drops from Grave of the Fireflies. It's hard candy and lots of fruity flavors, some powder texture in there too if I remember it right.

I had Dorayaki once during Cool Japan Festival other than that Japanese snacks aren't sold where I live unfortunately. I would like to order one of those Japanese snack boxes one day but given how shitty customs are here I'm sure it will either disappear or be stuck with them till it reaches expiry date :(

I tried Ramune the other day because I see it a lot in anime. Another snack I've tried is Jagariko because of a random seiyuu video I saw on YouTube.

There's a large Asian community in Melbourne, so there's always an Asian grocer nearby. Even Coles and Woolies sell Pocky and other stuff as well.

It's super easy to get great Japanese and Chinese ingredients relatively cheap.

Cause of anime I've eaten only Ramen.

Other snacks which I haven't noticed in anime or I just simply wasn't interested in them cause of anime were:
Onigiri and Pocky.

Haven't tried any other snacks/food from Japan.

Yup, I’ve tried quite a lot of different Pocky flavors in the past. My favorites are the winter chocolate, chocolate almond crunch, matcha, & crunchy strawberry. I would love to try out all their other flavors in the future.👌

As for food items in anime, it would be interesting to try a real life version of the Naruto ramen, as well as pretty much any food item from Ghibli films and Shokugeki no Souma.

I once had strawberry Pocky. I found it at "Bulk Barn," and it was the only flavor that they had.

I also tasted a Lotte Choco Pie, although that's technically Korean, and not Japanese.

I'd try more Japanese stuff, but it's extremely rare to find where I live. Most of the stuff I see in anime is completely impossible to find in my geographic location.

I've seen taiyaki stalls in the merch areas of many anime conventions, and I've thought of buying one.

Technically I learned of Taiyaki from Recettear, a video game, but close enough, it's a Japanese snack I know from Japanese pop culture.

I've had things like pocky, rice crackers, and dried seaweed snackfood wise, as well as things like sushi, and such, but I'd say its more cuz I have a japanese aunt then cuz of anime.

Now I do want to try konpeito one day thanks to how much I've seen it in all the times I've rewatched Stellvia(main characters favorite snack)

The only japanese thing I have eaten is wasabi.
I expected it to be like mustard or something, but it was like chemical product... I guess eating moth-balls will taste the same.
Or maybe it wasn't a genuine wasabi...
Also that time I ate some shushi but it was prepared by non-japonese cook and tasted like nothing. Is sushi supposed to be tasteless?

I have eaten pocky in the 2010s. The normal ones were whatever. But there were ones with nuts as well, those were pretty good, until you get bored of them to.

I found some Ramune at Heathrow Airport and decided to give it a go because I saw it in some anime (RahXephon's the first that comes to mind). It was pretty good, kinda like lemonade but sweeter.
