About as peaceful and resolute an ending we can get for this battle. Kirinmaru has proven a long standing opponent for the three girls as they've journeyed across th Sengoku era. Now we see all that history between them all, including Rion and Riku, culminate in this final showdown. Osama Kirin defeated by Riku last breath as he tells Towa what she must do. Towa has to save Rion from not only her trauma but from the fate she shares with her father. Sesshomaru tells Kirinmaru off saying he must take responsibility for his daughter's death those years ago. Something that Kirinmaru has tried to redo since we've known him in this story. Kirinmaru thought that because she always smiled Rion was happy being brought along to the battlefield but she was just trying to stay strong so her dad wouldn't worry. Its a very sad situation but I'm glad they've both found peace now being released from their connected string of fate. Towa almost sacrificed herself for Rion but gladly the latter pulled a reverse and brought Towa back instead. Now all our heroes can hopefully live their peaceful lives.

That was a really nice conclusion, I was hoping that they would go back in time to reclaim all the time the girls were separated from their parents but it would undermine everything, Sesshoumaru not only wanted to help Kirinmaru and Rion but also look cool in front of Rin.

It is a shame Rion didn't get to be alive again but I guess it is better for her to finally rest in peace.

Rion was super cute and tied for my favorite character of the show alongside Moroha.

The writing of Yashahime definitely fell off but seeing Towa, Setsuna and Moroha happy with their parents today definitely made it all worth it. That’s what we’ve been waiting months for. Sesshomaru’s character development is one of my favourite in the medium. Going from hating humans to loving them and protecting them.. his dad would be very proud.

Moments like today’s ending always make me think back to I think the 2nd Inuyasha movie? Where their dad asks sesshomaru if he’s found something to protect yet. Sesshomaru laughs it off and says he doesn’t need to protect anything, his dad explains that’s where true strength comes from.

My thoughts while watching this episode were just me constantly going "wait, what?" and "wtf is going on?" Feels like they crammed several episodes worth of content into one.

Yep, about is good as I could say it myself. I understand what you were saying about the Inuyasha movie, but I think that it was the third one and not the second one. A minor detail, but I just thought that I pointed out.

Yep, even though the writing was clearly not so good in the past few episodes, including this one as well, seeing all these peaceful resolutions and family reunions definitely made it all worth it.

Welp I guess that's the season's story concluded and next is bonus peaceful ep.

Sad to say because the early middle of this season was legitimately cool but I much prefer how 1 ended off, which is saying something because I really didn't like season 1 altogether but it had a really cool finish with Moroha and Towa going full demon and setting up Towa's ownership of the Tenseiga... but this season I'm just laughing. Sesshomaru vs Kirinmaru is cool and it's great characterization for Sesshomaru... the girls, not so much.

Right off the bat I gotta say I was laughing out loud how quickly Riku vs Kirin-sensei went, again showing Towa's lack of thinking to quickly go along with Riku's plan of sacrifice. Whatever though I'm glad because they really wasted Riku's character since season 1 to quickly shift in an unearned weak romance plot so bye my guy. (doubt he stays dead when Towa got that horn)

Rion unveiling her secret that she... still loves her father was another laughable moment, once again that relationship is just really creepy and weird so it's just hurting the plot for me. And then Kirin's GLASSES pop up to be a threat oh my god, like his whole body disappears when the right arm is cut off but inexplicably the glasses just stick around for him to remateralie and his purpose is to attack Rion? What? Kirin is completely all over the place.

Another laughable moment when Rion takes over Towa's body... nobody seems to mourn or be upset for a single moment, until Towa comes back and they act surprised. It's like even the characters knew how predictable it was so they went along with it, although I will say for a very brief moment I was thinking "boy it would be great if this stuck". Even just Towa losing her powers could've actually made me excited for another season lol.

So yeah this show does a lot for Sesshomaru, I like the end with him and his family as well. The girls... well I loved Setsuna's episode learning her naginata's specialty but then that became her only role in the show (don't get me started on that being the entirety of Setsuna/Moroha vs Rion until Towa's done her thing to show up). But hey at least that's some reason to exist unlike that best character Moroha who sadly still feels like dead weight which was exactly how I felt when season 1 ended.

Riku finally made himself useful by being Towa's vessel in order to defeat Osamu, I certainly wasn't expecting that, but as much as it felt strange, at least he had a resolution that he kept till the very end.

Now all that's left is to convince Rion out of her misery, and end the infighting with Sesshomaru and Kirinmaru, for the latter to realize the love between father and daughter that he'd been misplacing all along. But since Kirinmaru didn't bother to listen, he goes all out, and Sesshomaru's reason to fight becomes justified.

The real demon all along, Sakasa in Osamu, only Rion can stop him with her own hands, and the Zanseiken finally went to the right hands to slay the inner demon inside her. For Towa, it was nothing but sacrifice to save another, and for the benefit of all, to sever the last Thread of Fate to being all of this to a close.

The hug of reunion are definitely emotional for Rin to finally see Towa and Setsuna reunite as a family.

This was a long awaited resolution coming, and I'm really glad that Yashahime (at least for this sequel) benefitted from having one to make it decent.

Not gonna lie, if there's a season 3, I wouldn't mind them pulling an Avengers: Endgame (somehow bring forward a past version of Naraku who learns about his fate, so he does shit differently.).

Killing two characters off in the first two minutes was an interesting decision.

I was so stunned by Riku I had to check to make sure I didn’t miss something in the last episode. I was so distracted by the surprise killing him off, I barely focused on his farewell scene despite how much I liked him as a character.

After that it felt like full speed ahead through the end of the show… It just seems like so much development was cut short… even Rion and Kirinmaru’s story felt like it left no impact.

Looks like this is the end. I hope so anyways.

About all I hoped to get out of this series after watching season one. Quite clear the writing was not from the original author, but those of use who grew up with Inuyasha can't help but love the nostalgic moments, seeing the characters we fawned over with their children, and so on. I didn't like how fast they forced Seshomaru to wear his feelings on his sleeve in the final season of Inuyasha they created nine years later, but I do like how he changed. It shows in this show as well. Should have left things here, but of course they're gonna do some random filler EP for the finale. One thing I found really silly throughout the series was the constant reminders of who was who whenever a main character of the old series appeared on screen. Like bruh, we get it. Over narration is so annoying. As unique as Jo Jo's is for example, the over narration hurts the show. Show, don't tell. Anyway, average series overall just like previous. Naraku was a much better villain, but then again his fate in the 2009 finale was pretty pitiful. In the end he had no real wish it seemed, just enjoyed toying with humans.

The deaths of Inuyasha's characters like Kagura were infinitely better written, showing her motivations, unrequited affection for Sesshomaru, and finally attaining her long-desired freedom only in her tragic death, yet still being able to see Sesshoumaru one last time before passing away, and finally her spirit being one with the wind, as was her power-set. But Riku's death on the other hand--I felt absolutely nothing despite their weak attempt at being dramatic and sad. Maybe it's because I never liked his character (as well as his character design with the guyliner) to begin with. Had they maybe written more of his struggle with coming to grips with his humanity vs being a mere cast-off horn that somehow gained sentience, or showing more of his swashbuckling-pirate actions (he barely did anything pirate-like aside from steal a sword once and rode a small boat down a river), Riku could have been a more interesting character, and maybe I could have looked past his guyliner.

It's weird to see Rin who should be (physically) 4 years older than her daughters after waking up from her time-stop coma, but still slightly shorter than them. Maybe the twins got their tall-genes from their father.

Speaking of Sesshoumaru, it's rare for him to show any emotions whatsoever, but when he does through his words or actions, it's all worth it...like when he showed his enemy mercy in order to save his daughter's hearts, or when he stepped on Jaken after making his comment.

I wonder what they're going to do with the horn, as it was prominently shown glowing during Towa's body returning, now that Kirinmaru is dead. I hope they don't magicaly bring back Riku, but instead give it a proper burial like we saw in the preview.

They could have ended this show right here, and I could have been satisfied, now that the whole gang is back together, neither of Sango's daughters are dead like we initially thought in the early episodes of this series, and Rin finally got to hug her daughters at long last just as promised. But since there's going to be one more episode, I hope they do it justice by giving this show a proper closure, like somehow establishing a way to get back to the present era. And if it's not too much to ask, I'd like to see more Setsuna x Hisui moments, and maybe throw in a little Princess Aiya in the fray for comedic purposes.

That's why I think the first part of this season was ways better than the second half. Zero's death had a lot of meaning as well and made me remember Kagura's death ways more than Riku. I was actually kinda shocked seeing him die since I thought he would be paired with Towa until the end but that wasn't what they had prepared for him unfortunately.

I am honestly expecting the last episode to have what I honestly missed from this. A embarassed hug between Towa/Setsuna and their father. Since that would be a bit off character from him, I was hoping to see how would he react would they just go and hug him instead.

I was enjoying this show a lot but the recent episodes' bad writting just made me feel a bit down on hype. Guess since they didn't had any plans for a third season, they had to rush the end and outside from the Sesshoumaru x Kirinmaru fight everything was kinda boring.

Honestly a lot of my experience with Inuyasha was sitting through a lot of disinterest because I'd be hit with really great stuff like every episode Kagome goes home and Inuyasha follows, or the Kikyo drama, stuff that really made me feel a lot of emotion.

Outside of a few episode it feels like the stuff I'm waiting for in Yashahime just lasts a few seconds, like the hug at the end stuff which yeah is nice to see but god I want more.

At least I have hopes for next episode hopefully delivering the goods with the Inuyasha family.

God, that was hilariously bad. It's not just that it's ridiculous that a pair of glasses is like the final enemy of the show, but also the horn that Riku was born out of remains after he dies, but the arm that Kirin was born out of disappeared. And they're both body parts of the same demon. Logic not found.

"Sesshōmaru-sama... shinjite imasu!" - Rin

This is the best thing about "Yashahime" IMO. Sesshōmaru has always been the coolest character in this series, antagonist or not. His physical design and emotionless attitude pretty much guaranteed his cool factor. The introduction of Rin in "Inuyasha" was a brilliant way to make him seem more of an antihero instead of a straight-up villain.

And now, in "Yashahime",...shinjite imasu. I completely trusted Sesshōmaru to do what was needed.

That was a decent ending, but damn, the villains are all over the place. What about that bit about Sesshomaru and Kirinmaru walking in the same path and that they have to beat/kill them both from S1? That could've been interesting. And what about the high stakes degenerate era? Kirinmaru didn't even give Sesshomaru a hard time. It would've been interesting if it took everyone just to beat Kirinmaru in the end.

Riku is finally put out of his misery. He deserved better. And this series deserved better romance than the melodrama/soap opera-esque thing we got with Towa and Riku.

Kirin's death was anti-climactic. Then he came back and died again in a more pathetic way. Impressive.

Bruh I almost thought Towa died. I still don't like that character but her death would've been a dogshit ending. Because there's no emotion in losing a bad character. It's a shame cause I actually liked her at the beginning of the series.

I did like the theme of this episode though. Sisterhood was one of the themes of Yashahime with how many sisters there are in this series. But by season 2 father and daughter relationship also became a running theme. I think despite all flaws, this episode did a decent job of reconciling Rion with her father Kirinmaru.

Ig the prediction of the Shikon jewel about a half-demon killing Kirinmaru kind of wrong? Or more like the way they interpreted it was extremely flawed. Because Setsuna did technically kill Kirinmaru and Rion by severing their bond of fate...

Ironically, Osamu Kirin was right. He and Rion killed all those small weak demons but they ended up dying without paying for their crimes properly. Nobody cares about small fry demons lol.

I'm glad there's one more episode left and it seems like an epilogue.

Riku just had to go then. I was hoping he would survive but that's his fate ig. And he told Towa his feelings.

Sesshomaru completely broke Kirinmaru down. Both mentally and physically.

So Kirinmaru wanted Rion to fight alongside him and be able to defend herself? And Rion has been tortured with the regret of being a burden for her father? Why couldn't Kirinmaru just train Rion, then? Did he expect her to watch and learn?

Still so many questions. The relationship between Kirinmaru and Rion was weird and could've been fleshed out and executed so much better.

However, the parallel between Rion and Rin that was presented did give me a thought.

It would be nice if Rin were to train and fight alongside Sesshomaru instead of just being a damsel in distress. I think she's the only member of the whole family who doesn't have any powers or fighting abilities. If a new season were to happen, I would like to see Rin training with the daughters or the demon slayers or something.

A happy ending doesn't make it perfect. But I felt satisfied overall.
