For me it was "princess sarah". I thought the ending would have a bit more justice but the characters who repeatedly committed horrible acts of child abuse ended up being rewarded in the end.

Honorable mention Kill la Kill, I fuckin hated the 2nd half of that show

AnoHana is nowhere near deserving the hype its current MAL average score gives off lmaooo

No idea how that shit somehow got a movie "sequel" and even some brand new "10 years after" Blu-Ray release.

Basically anything I rated like ~5 and lower.
I wasted an excessive amount watching Re:Zero, but I'll just have to treat that as a learning experience to drop anime sooner.
Also watched 2 seasons of Yugioh... To be fair, I used to play the game, so at least I had a reason, I wasn't simply a masochist.

Bonus shoutout to Mirai Nikki. That's actually a pretty good anime, as long as you don't watch the OVA. But oh boi, did that OVA piss me off.

Maybe Gurren lagaan. Should've lived in the illusion that it's one of the best anime ever. Still I think it's average.

But the award goes to bleach. I have watched worse anime, but I never hated them. If anime is a waste of time, bleach is the king of it. Bleach is what demon Slayer is today, but with considerably worse writing and 366 episodes. The new arc coming this year is also bad.

Anime was it's best 20000 years ago, when cavemen drew art with real depth.
Modern anime is all garbage. I miss great old days of anime.

Konosuba and One Punch Man. The former is flat out shite and unfunny. The latter was a bit funny until it repeats the same type of jokes the hundredth time and the characters are just bland.

First thing that comes to mind is "Working," I should've dropped that shit. I still to this day don't know why I finished that garbage. Also "Classroom Of The Elite," sure, I only watched eight episodes of it, but it was definitely too many. I remember struggling so much. Should've dropped it sooner...

Naruto shippuden. The show's pretty good but after finishing it I realized I could have spent my time doing litterally anything else. Oh and gurran laggun, I have no idea why this is considered one of the greatest animes, I watched it three times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating and it honestly seems like just a kid's show with a few adult themes.

Oh there was a handful bit of anime I regret wasting hours of my life for. Here is my list:

- Mirai Nikki: Redial (I didn't regret the main show when I finished it but this one is just...bad)
- Anohana the Movie (my first experience of a true THROWAWAY)
- Peter Grill (I should've not watched this AT ALL)
- Japan Sinks 2020 (the ending was the saving grace of this RIDICULOUS show)
- DanMachi series (continuing this show to Season 3 is REGRETTABLE)
- Kimisen (uhhhhhh it was BLAND at best)
- Ochikobore Fruit Tart (BLAND but a bit decent)
- Euphoria (after a certain point of the show, it became more BAD and UGLY)
- Gekidol (this was truly a WASTED show)
- The Promised Neverland 2 (yes you're NOT alone on this)
- 180 Seconds of Bullshit ASMR (TOTALLY (not) asmr anime)
- School Days (it was fun until it WASN'T)

I hope you enjoyed my personal list of misery.

I'm actually GLAD I watched that all the way through (and sounds like you are as well xD)! If I had dropped it halfway through, it would just have been a bad show. But the final episodes and how completely bonkers it all was pushed it from "bad" into "so insane that it's actually fun again" territory~

Psycho-Pass Season 2.
I absolutely HATED the characters and premise of the second season but because of my absolute love for the first season, I convinced myself they couldn't drop the ball that hard, right?? Yeah nope. Should have just skipped that piece of garbage right away 🤦‍♀️

Break Blade.
First movie was good, then it quickly got worse and worse and I just didn't want to believe that something I was nostalgic for (I had read the manga as a young teen) could actually be shit, so I continued on and it just got worse with every single movie...

Rosario to Vampire.
I watched two whole seasons of it, desperately hoping for the protagonist to finally do something worthwhile - which he ofc never did because it's one of those basic "useless wimp MC with an inexplicable harem of countless hot girls" shows, but because it was my first encounter with the genre, I simply didn't know what I was watching and held onto that hope the entire time. What a waste of time...😅

Mashiro no Oto.
Started super interesting, quickly turned boring and pointless for most of the middle episodes and even though the finale was alright, it didn't make up for all the lifetime the middle had wasted. Usually 12 episodes are barely enough to fit a full story. With this one, I thought 4 episodes would have been more than enough.

AnoHana.
Everyone said it's so amazing, so good, yada yada. Literally nothing of value would have been lost if I had only watched the first and last episode, because it was just 90% insanely dumb characters and unbearable pointless bickering over love hectangles and whatnot.

Hunter x Hunter (2011) - I dropped it but picked it back up multiple times since one of my friends insisted that it will get better.
Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? - Its fan kept on saying this is a well written isekai but turned out to be the same old generic isekai bullshit with OP MC.
Beelzebub - the whole thing was cringe, not sure how I even managed to complete it.
Utena - This is one of the most pretentious anime I've ever watched.

Queen's Blade
Wolf Children
Higurashi
Erased
Fairy Tail (at the time I watched it the anime only went up to the Tenroujima arc) but I'm counting it anyway.

Stuff that was an overall waste of time but not exactly regrettable like these "why did I watch this whole thing?" champions would make a longer list.

Dagashi kashi. I wanted to drop it 3 times over. Never went onto the next season.
I pushed on because 1: There aren't that many episodes. 2: Would have been the first show I dropped after more than 1 episode (I have 3 right now in my drop list that I've seen more than 1 ep; I've learned my lesson. I saw this show a few months back).
It really was worse than doing nothing, IMO. I already saw every character before in other shows, and it's not like this one has a plot, or anything else.
Edit: Also, it's not something like Angel Beats, where it's popular enough that knowing I dislike it is valuable. Nobody talks about this show.

Soul eater, nana, mirai nikki, elfen lied, bleach and d-gray man are the first that come to my mind. It was a time in which I bought into the notion of completing everything I started, to the point that I would have been ashamed to drop a show.

Now my stance is that there's so much good stuff that I need a valid reason to subject myself to go through something I dislike.

currently regretting Shuumatsu no Harem.

previously regretted Ansatsu Kizoku (so bad and awkward; I cannot find any redeemable aspects apart from its original idea), The God of High School (possibly worst pacing I have ever witnessed; should have stopped at the OP), Eromanga-sensei (self-explanatory), Mekakucity Actors (as a huge fan of the Kageou Project this adaptation offended me), and SukaSuka. the latter is probably one of the biggest letdowns as I have read some of the light novel and was sooooo excited for its adaptation.

there are others but those are the first that come to mind.

Triage X- I never saw the appeal of it when it aired... Even if I watched it now, I would've still hated it tbh, it's all fanservice, no substance

Domestic Girlfriend- Most of my hatred of it I guess is the MC. Other than that it just mid melodramatic romance. As much I don't like Fuuka at least it didn't bored me to death.

Sky Wizards- I don't know why I watched it to the end... I guess sink cost fallacy perhaps. But everytime it disappoints me more and more.

Masou Gauken HxH- Same thing with Sky Wizards only worse.
