I would like to add a review for everything I rate on here, but that might be a little more ambitious than I'm prepared to deliver on. I've always been a little at odds with rating systems... At best, now I can look back and judge a certain show by which other shows I've given the same rating.
But I try to take other things into account as well. Mainly, the show's intended audience and what they were trying to accomplish. (So, a kids' show and an anime aimed at adults may have the same rating, but chances are I judged them based on very different things. And a sequel is being judged more against the other seasons in that series than against all anime in general.) And I can say that I definitely tend to weigh things like story and character development much higher than technical things like animation. Those are just the elements that are most important to me.
I'm not sure I ever see myself hitting either extreme-- giving anything a 1 or a 10. (Unless it's a show where I'm willing to admit I'm insanely biased.) I try to stay objective with the shows that I love and fair with the shows that I really disliked.
Current Projects:
Manga:
I spent this past year reading a lot of shorter series. I'm looking to get back into some of the longer ones I dropped off on during this coming year. I heard The Royal Tutor's finished publishing, for one. And I never actually finished the manga for Ouran High School Host Club, which feels like a grievous oversight on my part. I've been 2 volumes from the end for, like, 10 years. So that's definitely on the list.
On the anime side of things...
I don't think I was entirely convinced of Monster's hype until I reached the very end. Those last few episodes changed my view of the whole show. You guys were right. It was pretty amazing. I'm planning to follow it up with Yona of the Dawn soon.
On the longer-running series side of things... It's happened. I've officially begun One Piece. It's always really interesting to get into anything as big as OP as late as I am... As of this update, the 1000th episode just aired a few days ago. I'm enjoying it quite a bit already, and it's quickly on its way to becoming a deep-rooted obsession.
Saint Seiya is officially on hold. I revived my main Netflix device... Only to find they've taken the original series off it. I guess I'll pick it back up eventually, once I find another place to stream it. In the meantime, I took a break from my Pokemon journey (oh man, the puns I'll have now...) after Sun and Moon. So I guess I'll finally start up Pokemon Journeys.

I just want to say one thing really quick that's been bugging me ever since I took a better look at the cover... That famous image of the little girl standing in the rain next to the giant Totoro... is inaccurate.
How the fuck have I never realized that before?
